Update #2: The second leaked Gran Turismo 7 video, focusing on the racetracks from the game, has been officially published. In this clip, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi believes that Polyphony Digital has reached a level of realism that is "tangible", and he points to changing weather conditions and lighting that help sell the illusion.
Update #1: Sony has now officially released the behind-the-scenes video for Gran Turismo 7 which previously leaked, and it confirms that the new game will have more tuning parts than any past entries. You can watch the full clip above, with the circuits-focused video likely to follow later in the week.
Original Story: A couple more behind-the-scenes videos from Gran Turismo 7 have leaked online, as spotted and re-uploaded by GT Planet. The two clips – part of an ongoing series which has been running on Sony’s social channels for a while now – focus on Personalisation and Tracks.
In terms of tuning, series creator Kazunori Yamauchi teases that the new title will have more modifications than any past Gran Turismo game, which is exciting. There’s no complete list of circuits in the Tracks video, although we do know that some will feature changing weather and lighting.
Expect both of these clips to be officially published this week, but if you can’t wait that long, then you can get the heads-up on this page.

What a mundane thing to leak. It’s not as if these videos have groundbreaking content, they’re just a bit of fun watching Kaz talk about cars.
@nessisonett mundane yes, but the ole hype train is leaving the station with my money on it as I type.. little bits like this make my day!
@curriemonster Oh definitely yeah, seriously looking forward to this game and the videos are great. Just have no clue who could be bothered to leak them!
Just seeing how Forza keeps scoring highly with every iteration and rightly so, makes me wonder why GT isn't taking some notes in the way of the openworldness, camera movement freedom and damage. But no it's like their just interested in how the cars look good and stiff on screen, I mean I'm enjoying GT Sport but it feels innovation in the gameplay department has been stale since the days of PS2.
@TheArt
Really wouldn’t want an open world GT. it’s all about track racing for me and that’s how it should stay. So looking forward to finally getting back to a GT career mode - tbf, even Horizon is a spin off and hasn’t superseded the mainline franchise.
@nessisonett They were made live on a foreign YouTube channel a few days before they were supposed to. They realised shortly after and removed them. So more mistake than leak.
@TheArt
Actual Forza Motorsport has been crap the past few entries. Not even the same devs for Horizon and Motorsport.
If Forza turned into GT, people would be mad that its a GT clone when really thats what it should be. No pleasing everyone
@TheArt LOL. GT doesn't compete with FH mate. Completely different game type. It competes with FM and quite rightly that also sticks, as a track racing sim, to simulated racing tracks.
@thefourfoldroot @Yaycandy @lindos To be honest I don't even know the difference between the FM and FH cause I haven't played any Forza ever. I was just highly impressed with seeing the openworld, camera flexibilty in a gameplay vid of one of them. So if GT and FM are pretty much the same like y'all are implying, why does it keep scoring higher compared to GT...
@TheArt
Last GT game was GT6, i dont think the current Forza Motorsport 5 at the time beat it in ratings.
@TheArt
Say what you want about games scoring higher. Forza horizon does score high, because it's an open world game for casual racers. The people reviewing games are, "more lightly" not core racers but average gamers.
GT is a far more complex and refined game that is aimed at core racers and true car lovers.
Forza horizon 5 has done nothing since Forza horizon 4 except improve the graphics. Where's the innovation in that?
GT has ingredients Forza 'motorsport and horizon' can only dream off - Passion and the drive for perfection. Forza is second rate compared to Gran Turismo.
@tinCAT-zero Mm okay I see. I think I like that openworld element in Horizon though.
@TheArt I'd kill for a GT version of Horizon!
@B3TTS Yeah I'd like a free roam GT is all I'm saying.
I'm at the point now that by the time a GT is finally released I'm not even that interested. Especially with the weird not really a full game stuff they put out. The way they "hype" the game does nothing for me either. It reminds me of SSB in way. The designer talks about stuff as if the only people that exist are die hard fans that drool over the smallest bit of mind numbingly boring information. I guess it's hard to make GT look overly exciting though tbf.
@MetalGear_Yoshi I feel the opposite of everything you said. I'm not a die hard, but am a fan and I love these little videos that give more info about the game.
I don't think you are even a fan of GT by what you posted, not sure why you even took the time.
im just hoping the game has more customization like the main line forza games since gt 2 ive exclusively enjoyed forza more hoping this one can change my mind
After GT Sport had an oversimplified tuning system that didnt gel well with fans, I think this will much appreciated. Wonder how its going to stack up to the competition
Knowing nothing about cars, the original games confused the hell out of me! Making them more complex would break my brain lol.
Excellent news for auto-nuts!
The ability to tune your car to this degree is exactly what I love about GT.
Can't wait, I really like GT Sport but it never felt fully fleshed out for single player (although it is much better now). I am hoping and from what I have seen this is more traditional along the lines of GT 2 & 3. Used car garages are a very welcome return!
Riddled with macrotransactions of course, even a exhaust pipe will cost a small few 🙄🙄
God, this leaves a bad taste of discust in my mouth 😏😏
Love it!
First a great F1 from Codemaster... then a great Forza ($1 at PC GamePass) now... and GT7 is just around the corne! Race it all!
🏁🏎🚗🛺🚐🚒🚙🚓
This is the reason I want a PS5!
Im in total disagreement. I hate the nurburgring, I can never remember the layout as it's bigger than my old Geography teacher who had bingo wings and bad BO. Missed a trophy because of that monstrosity. Both in my GCSEs and On PS4.
@tinCAT-zero I wouldn’t they haven't done any different. They've changed the way in term of how the festival is handled and presented. Bring in more of story line with characters, cutscenes... etc. Your character now isn't some no face new racer. It imports a bit of your character information from the FH4, and presents this game as true sequel to FH4. Making references to your character time in the UK. Unlike past games where FH1-3 was stand-alone, and your racer was different from the last game.
@Yaycandy Yeah. The Metacritic score for FM5 was a 79 with a user score of 6.0. GT6 was a 81 with a user score of 8.0... FM5 was definitely a weak point for the franchise. The blame for that could be due to not enough time since they was launching at the time of the Xbox One release. The recent ones have all reviewed better.
@huyi
Why would you think that? It’s never been the case with GT.
I just want to see proper Gameplay footage outside the car! Otherwise it doesn’t look much difference from GT SPORT and not paying £70 day one
@TheArt Ever played NFS shift also insanely different game compared to NFS. Nothing wrong with both but i can understand why people would like to play one or the other arcade versus simulation.
@Flaming_Kaiser Well I don't know what NFS is doing wrong to keep going downhill. I just want a realistic open world racer with universal acclaim.
Loving the dust particles and spray from the rain. But the biggest thing for me personally won't be graphics (already know it will look good)...I want them talking about VR support.
GT is still one of my most played games on psvr...but it so so unbelievably barebones. Racing against one AI car...that had such low difficulty I'd often park up and have to wait for it.
The one way this can really take advantage of the ps5 is by allowing the complete full experience in VR. I would love to be racing against multiple cars. Race against ghost time trails from friends. Race online. The full experience. And compatible with psvr1 would be nice too.
@thefourfoldroot well with the previous titles being macrotransactions for cars, I was showing a little bit of irony 😒😒
I'm loving Forza Horizon 5 at the mo but i'd take GT over it any day. I always preferred sim racing over arcade.
@tinCAT-zero "GT is a far more complex and refined game that is aimed at core racers and true car lovers.

Sorry but when has gran turismo ever innovated?
Forza 4 and 5 are different games.
Gt has less ingredients then forza horizon.
"Passion and drive for perfection" you didnt play gt6 then lol
@Gh05tm4ch1n3
LoL just shows what you know about racing games. I did play GT6 and loved it, still have it.
Forza motorsport is a poor man GT and as for horizon, it's for casuals. No skill required. Not my cup of tea. I want a racer that has very finely built controls that feel right, weight shifting, braking etc. Forza motorsport controls are too arcadey and horizon controls are just plain loose.
Gran Turismo was in the Olympics. Forza wasn't. There's a reason for that.
@tinCAT-zero 1. seeing as you liturally dont know me then you also cant speak about my experiences with racing games.
2. I made no mention about gt6 which is pretty much gt5 but you know more about racing games apparently 😆.
3. Honestly you talk about how arcadey controls are but havnt actually played forza
4. I can tell you without a doubt forza 5 has a lot of realism. Also considering gt7 isnt out yet you can not speak about gt7s controls and handling. Talk about pulling the cart before the horse.
5. Forza 4 is a poor mans gt you say? Yet its still one of the most played racing games in the world. The last gran turismo game "6" was a ps3 game with a metacritic score of 81. Lol is this a "id rather be playing a poor mans gran turismo" seeing as its the more popular option cause its a racing game who you racing in 6??? Exactly.
Everything else you said was a poorly scripted pony defense script.
@Gh05tm4ch1n3
Read the last sentence in your first comment directed at me, where you "don't" mention GT6.
Who said I hadn't played Forza?
@tinCAT-zero ok sure ill give you the thing about me mentioning gt6. You did however make a lot of presumptions about me. Like you just said "i dont know you" yea you dont. You dont know what my experiences are with racing games, you dont know how forza 5 plays if you are saying "are too arcadey" yet from what ive played the turning, grip too roads, speeds are very realistic from what ive driven in real life. Do you drive? I doubt it.
@Gh05tm4ch1n3
Do I drive? You doubt it 😂
Of course I drive. I'm not into games like horizon. I did play horizon 4, I got it free with my Xbox one x and it was ok but not for me. I'm more into lapping a circuit and perfecting my lap times. I used to race online with GT6 and I can tell you it was incredibly competitive and amazing fun. I also raced GT sport online a little. I don't normally subscribe to ps plus as I spend a lot of time playing single player games.
Each to their own. Let's just enjoy the games that we love.
