Whoops, we had forgotten that Relayer existed! We first wrote about the turn based mecha RPG in May of last year (when it was still scheduled for a 2021 release) but we totally missed out on its subsequent delay and new launch date. It's coming to both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on the 24th March.
The game continues to look promising in its new trailer, which you can watch above. The art style's nice, the strategy looks solid, and we're hyped to give it a shot. Our only worry is that it's going to be utterly stuffed with tired anime tropes. This trailer alone mentions an amnesiac protagonist and ancient alien enemies who just happen to look like moody teenagers. Hopefully Relayer rises above these cliches.

The gameplay looks decent but deary me, I’ve lost count of how many anime tropes are in that trailer.
Looks really good, but there is too many games releasing in February and March for me to actually bother with this one at release. Definitely during the summer drought when it's already 75% off on sale though.

I've never heard of this one but I am certainly interested! I'll be keeping an eye on it. Looks right up my alley!
Boooo, it was a joke bad one granted but a joke. Not unconstructive 😋
Hoping it's getting a physical release and that its price is acceptable. It should be at lest the same price as Monark, around 40€.
The gameplay looks good, if the story is also good I want to try this.
@nessisonett "It's anime, therefore it's bad"
Then truck along back to your AssCreeds and Disney movies dude. We don't want you.
@guestwork Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
For reference, I’m a massive anime fan and basically anyone here who’s interacted with me will know that. Bore off.
Hey you two! Stop being unconstructive 😆😆😆😆😉👍
Outside of major IPs/first party, it feels like releasing in Q1 2022 is the equivalent of stepping into oncoming traffic.
Haven't played a solid SRPG in a while, I just hope it's gonna be good. The trailer looks dope!
And since I don't really watch a lot of anime, the tropes don't bother me that much, I just hope it's not full of "fan service".
