CD Projekt Red will finally break its months-long silence on the future of the Cyberpunk 2077 today via an official livestream (which you can watch above). We don't know how long this thing is going to last, but we do know that it begins at 3PM UK / 4PM Central Europe / 10AM Eastern / 7AM Pacific.
So, what's this all about, anyway? Well, Xbox leaks over the last 24 hours heavily suggest that the game's current-gen version will launch very, very soon — perhaps even today. If the PlayStation 5 edition of Cyberpunk 2077 really does hit this afternoon, then that's a pretty big statement from the Polish developer.
It also seems likely that this stream will provide information on upcoming DLC and free content updates. All of that stuff was pushed back when CD Projekt Red delayed the aforementioned PS5 version last year.
Are you ready to return to Night City? What do you want from the game on PS5? What updates do you want to see? Please temper your expectations in the comments section below.

Nope not ready for Night City. Too much on the...horizon... Maybe in a few months lol.
CDPR is going to announce that they got bought by Microsoft. I'm not the only one thinking it right?
From the very first reveal I honestly couldn't care less, but I'm glad for everyone who will now (hopefully) get the properly functioning game they paid for.
In all honesty this is the update I have been waiting for. I'll check on it once its out in the wild, if all is well I will find a copy for £15.
I'm past CP2077 now, it looked great in the build up but seeing the state of it at launch really soured it for me. Probably won't give it a shot unless it's on Now or GP.
Too late and good luck releasing anything in Feb, with Horizon 2 and Elden Ring both around the corner.
Love that you assume people are "returning" to Night City. I think a lot less people played this than many assume (just look at how quickly the game went to $10 or less at brick and mortar stores).
Out of my whole game friend group (8 of us), we were all hyped af for this (those of us that played Witcher 3 hyped up CDPR really hard). One of us bought it. On PS4.
I'm not sure anyone else even remembers this game. The hype wasn't killed. It was dragged out in the street and murdered in cold blood.
None of us even want to bother.
@jrt87 FO76 is not forgotten though, it still gets big updates and has a pretty big fanbase. As for Cyberpunk despite its many big issues its far better then Too Human and Duke Nukem Forever.
I already gave my thoughts on this. No point repeating them here.
@MFTWrecks The game sold very well. Maybe not as well as it could if it wasn't broken at launch, but still very well.
Personally, I'm curious what the new versions improve and if it's good enough, I might finally play it later this year.
Looking forward to jumping into the PS5 version when it drops. Even though it had a really rough launch, I still had fun with the game back when I played it on the Pro. Just had to move past the numerous crashes.
At this point, not even the game being on gamepass will convince me to play it
@MFTWrecks I love how you assume everyone else thinks the same as you and your friends.
@Golem25 That's what they promised. Whether they deliver on that here is yet to be seen. After the disastrous launch you'll forgive me in not having much faith in the developer.
Don't know why but part of me think it's not going too launch soon on ps5 maybe some sort of deal with Microsoft or still upset that Sony removed it from store
I might buy it if it ever drops to around £5. This was the 'amazing' game I was getting a PS5 to play. Having seen the hot mess that was released instead I'm now awaiting other, more important, games that are just over the horizon.
In a gaming world where No Man's Sky is still being updated 4 years later and coming out on a new platform, Switch, after being lambasted at release it doesn't surprise me to see Cyberpunk still going. 8 year old MK is getting dlc for the next 2 years and GTAV is never ending. Why shouldn't they make a go of it?🤷
As others have said, bad timing w/ HFW and Elder Ring though if it releases today.
I hope the framerate tanking is the stream and not game.
The only reason I still dont have the platinum for this game is because one cyberpsycho was bugged hope they at least fixed that.
@WallyWest I'm not assuming that at all. I'm simply noting that at least for people I play with, it sold 1/8th it was set to pre-launch.
And again, citing MASSIVE piles of copies at boxed stores (like my local Targets that had piles going for $10 by mid-2021), I think it's safe to assume it undersold by a pretty large amount. CLEARLY people somewhere were expecting much higher sell through.
@Voltan Selling well doesn't equate to selling to expectation.
♡ female V.
Watching this stream makes me remember how bad the side quests in this game are lol. They all are literally the same thing just from different fixers.
Too little too late
@MFTWrecks Your anecdotal evidence is not really required when CDPR publish actual sales data for their investors.
It sold 13.7M copies in 2020 alone, and it released in December.
@ChrisDeku As I noted elsewhere, selling well does mean it met expectations.
@ChrisDeku that's actually really depressing
@MFTWrecks SuqareEnix is the exception. Tomb Raider and Hitman games sold well, yet, SE told everybody that they didn't met expectations
As strange as it may seem to a lot of people, I’ve been waiting for the PS5 version. Never planned on playing the PS4 version… even before the actual game was released. Always planned on getting it for PS5, so I’m actually fairly excited.
@Enuo They meet the Xbox acquisition profile. Studio with big games, but have had some controversies that have devalued their stock. Ubisoft would be the other likely one along with Platinum Games if that would get over the line in Japan. I don't think that there would ever be a livestream to announce an acquisition though.
Holy crap it still looks like a train wreck of a game LOL
I purchased it on base PS4 on release and returned it immediately. I rebought it later when Best Buy had the collector's edition on sale for $10 - but never touched it again. Was waiting for this PS5 update - but it doesn't look much better
Is anyone else finding this stream really dull? Was looking forward to seeing what has changed but the presentation here is awful, like they've not prepared at all.
I mean they are just now adding the ability to change your appearance mid game? Shouldn't that have been in the game originally lol.
When the live stream started it has captured on PS5 at the bottom, and it looks just it did on the PS4 base console, what’s changed?
@themightyant
Yup! I turned it off. I just wanted to know and see clearly how the new versions are different but they're doing it in a very long-winded way.
I get that doing it live shows that they have nothing to hide (this time) but for me, it's unhelpful.
@PenguinL Indeed. And perhaps my expectations are too high but it still looks nothing like the trailers. Here's the one from E3 as a reminder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8X2kIfS6fb8
Wow that's one of the most boring things I've seen so boring it's putting me to sleep. Looks just the same, another Epic fail from them if it is don't think they will ever recover.
Can I get more of the blonde talking about dildos please?
Said a few times here, I bought it cheap, played a couple of hours and liked it enough, issues aside.
Was really hoping they would knock it out the park but to me... They've kinda not went the extra mile that I thought they would. I dunno what else I would have liked to have seen to be honest but this just seems like what should be the minimum expected.
Maybe I'm being harsh, I dunno.
It's downloading, I'll fire it up but I'm keeping the expectations low.
I’ve finished this game on the PS5 with the PS4 version of Cyberpunk. And although there were some glitches, I didn’t see the degree of glitches I’ve seen online. When my car would flip in the air, it was amusing, but it didn’t bug me that much because it didn’t happen often. The only annoying glitch to me was driving into a city and the game would crash. Today I downloaded the PS5 version and immediately the load times were 10 times faster. The intro music brought back a lot of memories and feelings from this game. I appreciate the 60fps performance mode and the raytracing in the quality mode. Being able to change your appearance now is also very nice. They said your guns would now show up on the wall but it still doesn’t seem to be working. That said, I might play through again just to see the other improvements
