Ive been waiting for Returnal to drop for a while but now its coming to the revamped ps plus so i can wait
Not many 'great' deals there.
@Danloaded couldn’t agree more. Usually games that are on Subscription services reduce their costs to buy and can see Returnal being £29.99 in a few months.
Great deals what great deals????
Do really think 54 for horizon forbidden West is a great deal nearly all of these should be the normal price
Ratched and clank is 25 at asda.everything can be found cheaper elsewhere.
Damn - I'll still be waiting on Returnal, GoT, HFW, GT7 and Elden Ring. None are close to being a 'sale' price for me mentally. Setting the RRP to stupid high only to reduce it to last years RRP price doesn't a sale make. Wake me once the prices drop to £20ish or are released on ps plus/stream service.
GoT out here still acting and costing like a recently released game.
Ive not really bought any big releases on launch day yet as i just cant bring myself to pay 70 quid. Seeing games discounted to 59.99 and 54.99 makes me think i wont be picking them up for a while yet either.
@Luigia will plummet in price on ebay even further
Amazon will have to do better than that, a lot better before thy can call any of those offers 'bargain'
Some of these are just discounted to the price they were already in the US and should be here all along.
PlayStation UK are having us all like fools with that direct £70/$70 exchange, it's like if Nintendo charged £60 here rather than the £50.
Plus heads up you can get Immortals cheaper at The Game Collection.
@Medic_Alert They'll never get what Nintendo have at that price point.
You'll get them doing well week one when the fanboys lap their £70 game but then sales will slow till massive discounts.
We've been seeing this with all PS5 games, while Elden Ring and Legends Arceus are still in the top 5 Horizon is dropping week by week.
These prices are exactly why physical releases and a healthy, competitive secondhand market are so important. If the publishers are able to control prices through digital only access it will only get worse.
An agressive secondhand seller to keep Cex in check would be a godsend right about now. Having spent some time in Tokyo recently, they still have a buzzing secondhand and retro market that's such a pleasure to engage with and sift through. It's like it was in the UK 10-15 years ago, where you can go out with £50-60 and come back with a bunch of interesting titles that'll keep you going for while. It's crazy that that won't even get you a new current gen game here.
I didn't pay those prices for my copies of R&C, SM:MM etc and I bought last year when these were 'newer'.
With so many games in my backlog, not just from this 'gen', but also older gen games all playable on current hardware, all of which are filling my 'valuable' and limited game time, that I can 'wait' to add games to my collection/playlist until they are at a price I'm willing to pay, or they come to a subscription service I pay for - PS+/GwG/GPU. Even if I didn't buy Fallen Jedi for example, I can play it via EA Play so don't 'need' to spend money to fill my Gaming time.
Each to their own - I know some games do 'enough' to make you want to play their game Day 1 and if that means paying $70+ to do so, then you will pay. However, if I have numerous other options that I want to play that don't cost as much, if anything, unless that 'new' game is the 'only' game I want to play, I can happily wait and fill my game-time with my backlog.
Pay $60 in a Sale to play GT7 or play Fallen Jedi, Squadrons etc on EA Play, Play any of the 100's of PS+ games I haven't yet even started, play/finish any of the PS4/PS5 games I have yet to complete, play any of the Xbox games in my back catalogue yet to finish or any of the games in Game Pass (inc MLB22, Weird West etc that are 'new' releases at no extra cost!!
@Gloamin. Ebay got better deals.they are always sales on ebay.thats why i always buy my games.word up son
Tbh waiting for these to go lower. I know they will
With the exception of Elden Ring (which I really want) and Call of Duty Vanguard (which I really don’t), I have all of the games listed already.
Yep, my physical PS5 collection is growing rather nicely, but Elden Ring will have to wait until I beat Demon’s Souls, which I very much doubt will happen any time soon.. especially given the fact that I literally cannot stop playing anything other than Gran Turismo 7, which is my favourite game of any console in years!
Alternatively look on absolutely any other website to find them as much as half the price of yet another Amazon promoting article.
Anyone near London, Horizon is being sold new and sealed in most gaming shops along Holloway Road for 50 pound new sealed and with the DLC
Alternatively its 48 in CEX and a lot of their stock is new and sealed too.
@Resi32
Never ever have seen anything sealed at CEx, even if you bring something in sealed they open it.
Discounted, yes.
Still overpriced, yes.
That launch edition of Elden Ring made me chuckle, I paid just under £45 with base.com and for some unknown reason they gave me £5 back.
Haven't paid 40 notes for a brand new game since I don't know when.
See usually I'd be buying maybe 3 or 4 of these, but with the new PS plus tiers I'm not sure what the point would be. I can get a load of them on the Extra tier and it'll cost me less?
I have nearly all of these already but this is really nice for those that don't.
I can see Sackboy being on ps plus extra or I'm banking on it being there.
@suikoden not in every Asda. It's a wild goose chase in the majority.
@HeeHo £70 is digital only! You'll be far stretched to find a physical copy selling for anywhere close to £70. Majority are between £40-£60 on release.
@Resi32 I've never seen a Cex game sold sealed.
@theheadofabroom you are renting those games, you get to keep the physical games.
@Mince i paid £50 for Horizon Forbidden West, the PS4 copy, because I absolutely was not paying £10 more for the different disc.
£70 is a joke. £60 for GT7 is a laugh as well, given it's rammed with MTX.
@Gloamin. Yeah ebay always good deals.brand new physical disc are always on sale.word up son
@suikoden I bought Resident Evil Village and Cyberpunk new and sealed from CEX. Sometimes they do get new items in but yeah, rarely
@StonyKL couldn’t agree more and you rock!!!
@MattBoothDev sure, but the difference is likely immaterial to me
