There's no new PlayStation Store sale this week, but those waiting on a Ghostwire: Tokyo discount are in luck: the title is the Deal of the Week until midnight on 11th May 2022. 34 per cent has been knocked off the price, taking it down to £39.59/$39.59 for the base version. There's also a Deluxe Edition, which packages in some bonus outfit packs and weapon skins for £52.79/$52.79.
Ghostwire: Tokyo released just six weeks ago to a fairly muted reception critically, with the Push Square review handing it a 6/10. Despite praise for its combat system, PS5 DualSense controller support, and spooky elements, we concluded: "Ghostwire: Tokyo feels like a step back from what Tango Gameworks has produced in the past. While its combat system is fun in bursts, it becomes repetitive far too quickly." Perhaps this discount will make the game a little more enticing to those who skipped it at launch? On Monday, the game received an update adding VRR support.
If you want to take advantage of the temporary discount, you've got one week to head on over to the PS Store and grab it. Will you be doing so? Charge your powers in the comments below.

I’m happy to wait for the inevitable 50% discount on the physical version.
I saw that yesterday as it's on my wishlist. It is at the level that I can't quite decide on. I do really want to play a PS5-only game, but I have enough games to last me a couple of years as it is.
@The_Pixel_King That might be a good call. Clearly, it will get cheaper still. The one thing that it has going for it now is that there aren't many proper PS5 games around.
I love that the price in £ and $ is the same. Very fair.
I traded this in for Sifu Vengeance Edition, no regrets
@Pat_trick UK PS store is most expensive of them all. £=€ too, even when £ is around 18-20% more valuable. With $ is tricky, because they get added sales tax to that price at checkout, which adds around extra 10%
@Apfelschteiner horizon forbidden west and rachet and clank rift apart two of best ps5 games sure forbidden west is on ps4 but obviously way better on ps5
@Apfelschteiner Good call, my recommendation is to wait for a deeper discount. The game was okay, but nothing sort of amazing. I think PushSquare’s review was pretty much spot on.
@Falkirk4life Rachet is one of those games that I would either buy on deep discount (at least 50% off) or play on PS+. I'm going to get round to HFW, but for me that is a PS4 upgrade.
@Relygon The game being set in Tokyo bumps the score up by one for me as does the game being one of a handful of PS5 only games. I don't really fancy Returnal. I love Nioh (currently playing Nioh 2) and Seikiro, and I will probably get round to Elden Ring, and maybe Demon Souls if it's on PS+, but I have plenty to be getting through with just those two games.
I had a physical copy pre-ordered because it looks cool and it is my game of the year so far.
Make sure you play in the performance high frame rate mode with v-sync. If you don’t have a VRR screen. The is some kind of weirdness with this game at low frame rates.
I started Ghostwire, having been excited for it regardless of reviews, at launch, and I’ll be honest I was feeling disappointed early on. Everything about it, outside the fidelity of the visuals, felt like a game from an era passed. I just had a really hard time getting into it.
@REALAIS Wow, we really get the short end of the stick don't we?
Wow it flopped that bad it needs a sale already 😂
Definitely be below £20 within the next 3 months
With my backlog, I’ve moved all new games to a 50% sale…and even then I’m hesitant. I have too many games that I haven’t even started.
I suppose, with the typical 15% discount on PSN credit that's widely available it makes this about £33 (better)
But then I look around and see that if I really wanted it I'd buy via one of the accounts I have linked to other regions, where you can get it for low twenties equivalent.
Will probably come to Plus anyway. And it looks meh.
€46,19 in germany... strange price imo.
I'lL pLaY it oN GaMe pAsS...
Er, I mean..
Ps+ PrEmiuM
I prefer to wait for a discount on the physical edition and I’m thinking I’d like to pay less than $40 for it as well.
Besides, I’m still having an absolute blast with the Returnal DLC.
I really have enjoyed this game. Picked it up with the preorder discount and have no regrets. 8/10 from me.
@DETfaninATL @The_Pixel_King Same plans here, I can wait until Black Friday/Christmas sales if needed.
My PS4 & PS5 gaming backlog has grown immensely so I'm not low on games lol.
I've been waiting for it since its release. I knew the discount was coming rather quickly. And here we are.
I haven't played games for 3 weeks now. I really been missing playing video games, so I can't wait to buy and play that one.
@REALAIS that’s only retail. Digital games have no tax. I have a US account for good sales like this. Just buy online some PS cash for the US store front. But for that you will pay tax … so ups and downs ⚖️⚖️ Still cheaper than UK or Europe. In the Romanian store the prices are even higher. Normally all prices in europe are already with tax. But i don’t know what is the conversion rate that Sony is using but games are still to expensive. If 1€ = 5RON games should be 350RON but actually the price is 380.
I'll be honest: Even at this price, not really worth it. After an hour of gameplay you have experienced the entire game. The game is literally 10% story and 90% collectibles. Even Ubisoft open-world collectibles were more fun then this.
6 weeks out and a discount already. This is gonna make it’s way to Plus or whatever it’s called now.
@Futureshark it will be on gamepass march next year
@deadliner That's a disingenuous argument. This is a PlayStation forum, therefore when I say PS5 only, I mean not PS4. Of course I know that the studio that produced the game is owned by Microsoft and the game will be on game pass in a year. Xbox and PC are irrelevant to my gaming life, if a game is not on PlayStation I won't play it.
@ORO_ERICIUS I would buy it in Germany on PSN or I could buy it physically from the UK. 33% off is a big amount, but somehow that price still feels high. Digital games have to be cheaper than physical to make me buy them. I don't really swap games with anyone anyway. I'm fine with paying that price, but my problem is that if I buy a game, it makes me feel like I should be playing it straight away. If I buy it and play it in a year, it will definitely be at least 50% somewhere or in some sale.
@Apfelschteiner the demons remake deserves to be paid for frankly. It’s brilliant in every way and a fully fledged ps5 game too
@Mikey856 I would like to play Demon's Souls, but I'm currently playing through Nioh 2. I don't think any game is really worth 80 euros to me and that is how much Demon's Souls is on PSN I could pick it up in a sale, but I'm far more likely to try it out if it's on PS+.
@Apfelschteiner it’s utterly magnificent and a true ps5 game. I picked it up on sale for £40 I think. And I’m more than happy with that price tbh
@Apfelschteiner oh and nioh is also magnificent, a great take on the souls genre with the ki mechanic.
@deadliner You made it sound like I was saying the game was only on PS5, when you knew that on a PlayStation fansite clearly PS5 only meant not PS4.
Also, how old are you that you have all this time to play all these consoles? When you get older and have responsibilities, there is very limited gaming time and it's certainly not worth splitting it between multiple machines.
@deadliner Just look at the context. It was pretty obvious.
I'm a little younger than you. I had a Sega Master System, an N64, Gameboy Color, Gamecube, Gameboy Advance, Wii, Nintendo DS, PS4, and now a PS5. I only ever have one console at a time and maybe a handheld. I've never felt the need to have more than one. I guess it's better that way as it left me time to get some social skills. My daughter has a Switch Lite, but I never really feel the desire to play it. I might get a TV Switch for the younger kids to play Mario Kart.
Being a father you must appreciate how busy life is with young kids. Maybe in your day you didn't think to help out your wife with the kids and you had an easy job where you made a lot of money. It's way more competive these days. Don't disparage people working hard in jobs you may consider demeaning.
Gaming is not a huge part of my life, it's just a hobby. Maybe I'd like to have more time for gaming, but I wouldn't trade my family life to be a loser in a basement. Maybe, I'll catch up on some gaming when I'm retired.
@The_Pixel_King you’d be wise to wait I’m enjoying the game; atmosphere wise it does as was revealed if you were into it however a lot of the graphics it doesn’t really strike me as a AAA title. Where it is now feels like its true retail price but side quests do feel worthwhile to me, maybe more so the investigative ones where you get to go indoors I enjoy. Ringu vibes ha also I get a sense of the F.E.A.R. .. not the tune, the game some years back
