PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium launched across Europe, Australia, and New Zealand today, and the last rollout has brought with it a new game for the service's highest tier. PSP title Super Stardust Portable has been added to the list of All PS Plus Games as a classic, digital pickup. It has received the normal PS5, PS4 updates of quick save functionality and rewind, various video filters, and up-rendering.
There's no price attached to the PS Store listing at the time of writing, so it's currently only available through the PS Plus Premium tier. Trophy tracking sites like Exophase and PSN Profiles haven't caught a whiff of a Trophy list yet either.
"Defend five vulnerable planets from incoming danger as you explode into some manic shoot 'em up action," the PS Store listing explains. "Take out entire space fleets across two exciting game modes: Arcade and Planet." First released on PSP in November 2008, Super Stardust Portable is an on-the-go version of Super Stardust HD.
With a Metacritic rating of 69, it's by no means the best entry in the series. Although, since Super Stardust HD is a PS3 game that can only be streamed through PS Plus Premium, this portable version does represent the chance to play the franchise natively on PS5 and PS4. Will you be doing so? Defend the planet in the comments below.

I loved Super Stardust in like 1996, lol
Great addition but the lack of downloadable Classics on the service is bad. They need to get this PS3 emulator and some additional PS1/PS2 games of note, fast.

Super Stardust Ultra is on PS4 and PS VR

Has anyone else in Europe not been Upgraded yet, even tho they had an active PS Plus and Now Sub?
Me just sitting here waiting for the likes of Daxter, Pursuit Force, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters and God of War: Chains of Olympus and Ghosts of Sparta to pop up on the service for that nostalgia itch!
@Perryg92 Pursuit Force and Everybody's Tennis(PSP) deserve to be added, they are great games. Both permanents on my PSPgo.
i thought I would own this, as I had it on the same account on my PSP ?
@elhozzo I think that only applied to the purchasable ones, but I could be wrong.
@IonMagi I have been upgraded on the PS App but on my subscriptions it says PS Now is still active and will pay £49.99 in Oct 23 and then PS Plus Premium will take £49.99 in Feb 24 so it isn't working quite right as of yet it seems. No internet at my house so can't actually check what my console says.
@Enigk Yeh it says Im on the Premium Plan till May 2023 on the App but it still wants me to Upgrade from the Essentiell Tier lol. Also cant download any Games from the Extra or Premium Tier
Cool, I never played this one and I love the Stardust series so I'll be checking it out...but only 1 new classic game? Come on Sony lol
@IonMagi I have added games via the app and I have my fingers crossed that my net is up later today so I can check on the PS5.
God knows where you are to find this?
If you select 'classics catalogue' under the collections tab, and then chose the 'psone ps2 psp' option, its not listed.
If I look under 'all games', its not listed.
If I search for it, I find it, but it doesn't show in any listing?
If any of you are seeing this game without searching directly for it, please let me know where its listed.....
Not upgraded yet but downloaded Abe's Odyssey as I'd purchased it years ago and sadly no trophy list for that either. I know it's up to the developers if they'd like to add one but for me personally trophies were the main reason I was excited to replay these games, other than a quick 10 minute nostalgia scratch, shame
@Voltan The Amiga 'wormhole' section was always one of the best bits!
@itsfoz I still can't see the PS5 having the necessary grunt to emulate the PS3's sort-of-distributed architecture or the Cell's RISC-y instruction set on the (frankly antiquated) push-pop x86/x64 without something melting.
@elhozzo You probably will do, but with it having no pricing yet it's most likely just a little something that needs addressing on their side.
I was happy to see Resi Evil classic available for me in my library to download as I bought that years back on PS3. It's early on with all this so I'm sure the "majority" of our purchased games from yester-years will be added to our accounts.
Just a note for anyone wondering about trophies on PS classic games (and possible PSP going forward) it's not a simple procedure adding them in as you can imagine and a Sony rep did say (somewhere, can't find it as of right now) that to add them in, most of the time is an average of two months to do so with testing in that etc. But they also stated that whilst they will attempt to add them into first party games, they can't be guaranteed for other Devs games. So I'm sure many games we had on PS Now will be getting the treatment as we speak.
@Titntin If you just do a general search for it, you should find it. The various sections of the new Plus tiers are in a bit of disarray right now.
Edit: Read your comment properly! So aside from just doing a search, I've managed to find it. In the Games tab along the top, it then shows you every game on PS Plus, so sort by Z-A and then scroll down until you see it.
@Quintumply
Sorry mate its not in that list, at least, not for me. I see everything from Saints Row to Surviving Mars, but no super stardust.
I thought it might just be me, but a google search shows its the same for many others and Eurogamer also report you cant find it without searching for it directly. In fact, if it is showing in the list for you, then you are the only person on the web ive seen who can see it!
You are the choosen one! 😁
Either way im sure they will fix it all soon, but its dissapointing how little effort has gone into this...
@Titntin It is all a little messy right now, no question. I'm sure it'll settle into a groove once it's been going for a little while.
I put the lack of trophies on Housemarque. Its their game and an in house developer. Lazy and inexcusable.
It's a bit confusing when you look at a classic game & try & find out if it has Trophies. Well I couldn't see it anywhere Oh well +What a DISAPPOINTING line-up of classic games to :-/ With the billions of PlayStation classics that have come out in the past the list on PSN is pitiful really
@Titntin I've found it but only a ps5 version so can't download it lol
