In case you missed it, Capcom officially announced a remake of Resident Evil 4 at the latest State of Play presentation. While we all sort of saw it coming, it's great to have confirmation, and it's a very exciting proposition. The game is often regarded as one of the best action/horror games ever, so anticipation is running high for how Capcom aims to modernise it. We should get a better idea soon, as the game will be shown off once again during the publisher's own presentation next week.
The Capcom Showcase, announced earlier this week, will present us with updates on its upcoming games, and Resi 4's remake is the first game to be confirmed. We'll be getting a "fresh new look" at the game, so this won't be a simple rerun of the trailer we had at the State of Play. Perhaps it'll focus more on the action, or will detail any gameplay changes? We don't know for sure, but we're looking forward to finding out.
The show is scheduled for 13th June, so it's only a few days away before we see Leon's luscious locks once again. Are you excited for more Resident Evil 4 action? Tell us what yer buyin' in the comments section below.

I am interested to see some of the changes they are making to RE4. Their taking on one of the very best games ever there so no pressure on the team!
I'm much more hopeful/excited to see more SF6 though. It's been a whirlwind of information coming out about that game and I'm just eating it all up! Here's hoping for a beta not too far in the future!
I love that Capcom is back to being one of the top three best third-party devs in the industry. They've done an amazing job these last several years.
I wonder how much they'll be altering the story of RE4. A lot of the dialogue was very campy in the original, so if they're leaning away from the B-movie vibe, they'll need to do some work.
I actually hope it's significantly different. The GameCube RE1 remake made notable changes that resulted in a dramatically scarier game, and it was all the better for it.
dont change a thing original was awesome . on game cube the playability was so great it was crazy.
Hopefully there will be a Collectors Edition shown at the showcase. Hopefully it doesn't come with a Leon statue again. Id be all for a villain this time around!
Resident evil 4 Is legendary. Its not just one of the best action/horror games.its one of the best games ever period.cant wait for the resident evil 4 remake gameplay.im still playing the regular resident evil 4 on my ps4 pro.resident evil 4 is always a good time.word up son
@Bionic-Spencer oh yeah man they need announce pre-order info details during Showcase. i don't want to miss out pre-order Collector's Edition due to Leon's statue. don't make us waiting too long to pre-order it and worrying about miss out pre-order Collector's Ediiton when pre-order went live when you and me are at busy work
I need to let this out ๐คฃ: I've never played RE4, well, no Resident Evil game at all, justa bit of RE7 in PSVR but was so scary that I left it. I love terror/scary movies but games are too much for me. And I play games since late 80s... I think one of the few games of this style I've played (and finished) is The Evil Within 2... How far is that one from a resident evil game?
What's this talk about Resident Evil 3.5 being part of the game? was there some prequel to 4 that was cancelled?
@BusyOlf RE3.5 was basically another version of RE4 with paranormal elements that they showcased way before release but then decided to change it again.
@MattSilverado It's been so many things over the years that even if you don't like one of the games, you'll probably be able to find something you DO like within the franchise. The Evil Within 2 is pretty close to RE4 in gameplay style though TEW is semi open world and RE4 is a bit more linear.
@Unsungzero612 great. Will check it out.
I'll get the PS4 version instead of PS5 to stay congruent with the other titles I have. Having all the other ones, no way am I upgrading to the PS5 versions. That's just the anal side of me, having all on one platform.
I hope they have some gameplay and interviews. It would be nice if they showed some behind the scenes info from the developers and let the fans know if theyโve added anything new to the game.
@4estGump I have some bad news for you then, the RE4 Remake will only be released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam (PC).
Unless you meant the PS4 port of the original RE4?
@KidBoruto
It says on this page that PS4 is also included, unless they're talking about the original. Otherwise, yeah, I guess PS5 is the way to go then.
@4estGump PushSquare is referring to the PS4 port of the original RE4!
I can understand the confusion since they are linking to it in this article.
