Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling Into Darkness, despite having one of the more outlandish titles we've yet come across, looks like it could end up being quite interesting. It has a real Monster Hunter vibe to it, except with fewer monsters, more mining, with a smattering of PTSD and depression. Now we're cooking with gas!
Players will be able to choose between two game modes: HELLO ABYSS is a story mode that will retell the events of the anime on which the game is based while learning the basic mechanics of the game.
DEEP IN ABYSS, meanwhile, is a game mode in which players experience an original story as their own custom Cave Raider, as they take on the challenge of underground exploration in this dark fantasy world.
If you are intrigued by Made in Abyss we got an announcement trailer a little while back that shows off some other aspects of the game. The title is coming to PS4 on 2 September 2022.

Oh nice, another cute art style game on PlayStation 4 for kids. It's always nice to get those, can't always have mature games....
Wait, this is rated M?
Must be rated M for Meveryone.
I'm sure that this KID-FRIENDLY game from a KID-FRIENDLY anime series will be just KID-FRIENDLY enough.
Right @Anti-Matter?
I remember watching the anime with my partner, at first I was like this looks too cutesy and boring, but after a few episodes boy how wrong I was 😂, finished the season in two days and watched the 3 films since
@HotGoomba Got me in the first half, not gonna lie 😂
But I will say, I feel as though there are going to be unsuspecting parents who pick this game up without knowing a single thing about it 😬
The anime was great and surprised the heck out of me with how dark it got. Cant wait for the next season.
@HotGoomba Ahahaha! Thanks for the laugh - I was really getting tired of reading that guy's repetitive comments 😅
Also, it's good to see an anime game that isn't an arena fighter - not sure if Made in Abyss lends itself to that genre, but still, I wouldn't have been surprised to see them go down that route! I won't be buying the game cos the clips I've seen from the show freaked me out, but I'm happy for the fans!
@HotGoomba
When the games are rated Mature / PEGI 16, 18 / CERO C, D and Z = instant banned in my gaming area regardless of the art style.
My gaming rules is pure strict.
Only rated Everyone, Everyone 10+, Teen (with some deliberation), CERO A, CERO B, PEGI 3, PEGI 7, PEGI 12 games are allowed in my gaming area.
@HotGoomba Its not kid friendly. If the game properly represents the source material, that M rating is well earned.
@Tobiaku oh, cmon man, he 100% knows that. His comment is dripping with sarcasm.
I'm kinda into this "cutesy at first but gets dark really quick" content so I probably have to check out the anime and maybe this game is gonna be for me.
It's pretty cool to see the original cast show up. And since I'm sure Sentai is in no hurry to start dubbing season 2, this'll be a nice way to tide me over.
@Tobiaku You thought I was serious when I said M for Meveryone?
@TwoPieceTanookiSuit I thought he was joking, but one never knows. Seen lots of takes I thought were jokes where the person who said it was serious. And other people could have belived him. So better safe than sorry.
@HotGoomba I was hoping you were joking. That part of your comment reminds of how Gal gun double peace was rated E for sexual content
I still need to watch the anime and films first, but looking forward to the game!
Is Penkin doing the soundtrack for this as well? Because that would really tempt me into getting this.
@Anti-Matter What are you saying? Why are you bringing up all these video game ratings from different countries?
@Custom1991
That was my gaming rules with age rating that I allowed for video games and movies.
