GRID Legends shall join EA Play on 1st September 2022, EA has announced. Released for PS5 and PS4 at the very start of this year, both versions will be fully playable via the publisher's subscription service. Recently, members have enjoyed full access to sports titles like FIFA 22 and NHL 22.
In our Grid Legends PS5 review, we awarded the racer a 7/10 and concluded: "The game’s main draw — the Story Mode — falls short of providing a compelling narrative, ultimately amounting to a mere distracting backdrop to the true star of the show: the races. Visuals look nice, but perhaps not nice enough for the PS5, and the music is overall a bit repetitive and unnecessary. All in all though, GRID Legends is worth a look, but time will tell if it manages to hold its own against the competition." Gran Turismo 7 was launching around the same time, so racing sim fans had their eyes elsewhere at the time.

The narrative may not be compelling, but it’s pretty fun most of the time. Besides, looking for a compelling story in a racing game FMV seems like a bit of a snipe hunt.
I really enjoyed GRID Legends and managed to wrap up the story mode before GT7 released and stole all my gaming time. In fact, my only complaint are those stupid ramps sprinkled throughout the truck races that only exist to make me cough up slender leads.
I writ this game off for months before i grabbed it dirt cheap. Really fun racer. Sure its cheesier than a 4 cheese pizza but the racing is solid and im glad i gave it the chance.
Put it on PS Plus Extra and I’ll play it.
