Update: Fans seem to have already sussed out who the mystery person in the image is. If they're correct, the hidden face belongs to the actress Elle Fanning:
Kojima and Fanning also follow each other on Instagram, which may add a little weight to the theory. She certainly seems to fit — now we wait for the studio to tell us more.
Original Story: It's Tokyo Game Show right now, which would be the perfect time for Japanese developers to unveil new titles. However, Kojima Productions ruled itself out, stating it wouldn't be showing any games at this year's event. That said, a mysterious new page has popped up on the studio's website, bearing the below image:
The natural conclusion is this is a teaser for KojiPro's next game. Hideo Kojima has a history of unveiling his latest works in unusual ways, so this is actually pretty subdued, if anything. Of course, it might not be related to a new game; we all know the company has an extensive merch range, and Kojima's been busy lately promoting his podcast. This could be anything at this point.
Still, the image is intriguing — who is the person in the picture? Your guess is as good as ours, so have your say about whatever this is in the comments section below.

@BeerIsAwesome it is, so not sure why we get an Article here
I have a feeling this is for a guest on his podcast. The logo at the bottom is different from the Kojima Productions logo on their games with the skeleton in the space helmet. The logo on here kind of looks like a microphone to me which would be a fitting logo for a podcast.
As for who the person is, I'm thinking it is Stephanie Joosten(Quiet from MGS5).
Edit: Though after looking at again I see the usual KP logo below the microphone looking thing so maybe I'm wrong!
@BeerIsAwesome @IonMagi the one we know of but if you listen to insiders (how that Nintendo direct go) he has like three games on the go which one might be DS2
Still, I think this is the podcast
@BeerIsAwesome
Kojima is doing a project with Microsoft but that is a long ways away, and other than it using cloud technology we know nothing else about it and likely won't for a long time, this is not that game.
@BeerIsAwesome Kojima probably working on more than one game. They may announce another one before Xbox exclusive game.
Looks like the silhouette of Margaret Qualley who played Mama in Death Stranding and was rumored to be starring in Kojima-San's next game (the Xbox exclusive one).
Jodie Whitaker - Doctor Who?
Elle Fanning? Liz Truss?
I will pay attention to anything that is involved with "Interdimensional Sentient Rogue Time Traveling Artificial Intelligence And Corporate Being By Choice Hideo Kojima"
A future jumpscare?
A grown up BB?
A younger Quiet?
Someone who's left ear is slightly higher than their right ear?
Someone who's right ear is slightly higher than their left ear but they are looking in a mirror?
I don't know... which is kind of the point 😅
I'm calling it now. A hyper realistic version of Guess Who?
With Ray Tracing, cloud based processing, true 4K and smell-o-vision.
@Throb I agree, Elle Fanning for me too
That kind of looks like Lea Seydoux
This is clearly proof that his next game will be a video game adaptation of the 1998 movie Who Am I? starring Jackie Chan. Super hyped for this. 10/10. Day One.
@throb @Faenor yeah, and my ear theory checks out, it seems 😅
So now we move on to deciphering the logo
To me it's bionic arms held in prayer
Maybe Fragile?
LMFAO the narcissism in this man is off the charts now xD. Says they won't show anything for TGS but drops a petty teaser right when the show is starting because he can't resist others having the spotlight.
I preferred cooky game designer Kojima to this pretentious auteur.
@arsmolinarc use the brand you have, and get marketing without having to pay much for it. So bad... I was expecting him to tweet before the Sony thing, but this campaign makes a much bigger wave.
The fact you're talking about him being narcissistic means you have chosen to talk about him and not the subject. The intention clearly is for people to talk about potential games and get excited. Could it be the new PS5 AAA IP that's been rumoured, could it be the xbox exclusive, mystery used to make gaming, movies and television fun to participate in as consumers. It's old school, not some new Kojima trait 😅
Abandoned burned me out on Kojima speculation...and that wasnt even his fault. Let me know when we have something confirmed and ill be intrested.
@BeerIsAwesome Kojima never said it was his NEXT game, only that he is making a cloud based game exclusively for Xbox. It is rumoured this started life on Stadia, before being cut.
It seems likely his next game is likely to be a Death Stranding sequel, but who ever knows with Hideo...
It's the girls dem sugar
The obvious joke would be to suggest that it's Abandoned.
The Ruse continues… tinfoil hats are ready!
Bones and liquid wrapped in meat.
Looks like that annoying brat greta thunberg... my guess is an open world game with that little demon chasing you while you drop litter
Can't wait for Kojima to release Where's Waldo, his next hit game.
Apparently its elle fanning, the logo above KJP has death stranding vibes to me, looks like an umbrella with two arms coming out, wondering if shell play a young Fragile
@Mylo Oftopic awsome profile pic.
His next game Judonga won't be finished for a long time. Podcast guest perhaps?
It’s like a knock knock who’s there story?🤔
@IonMagi There's zero evidence that Kojima's next game is an Xbox exclusive, we know he has a project with them but no one knows what it is and there's no timeline for it. He has hinted at some kind of 'big' AAA horror game but that's almost certainly not the Xbox project.
@BeerIsAwesome Reality is we just don't know it's all speculation. But IF this new Xbox game is cloud based and pushing the boundaries as hinted at it will quite a long way off. Meanwhile Norman Reedus spoiled and others have hinted that DS2 is already being made. That makes me assume DS2 will be out next. Could be 100% wrong of course.
@TripleKing333 my first thought as well. Elle Fanning, bah, all smoke and mirrors Mr. Kojima... it's Jackie Chan for sure!
It's Kojima in a Wig Just HURRY UP & show his next game PLEASE (if it's PS5 only that is)
@BeerIsAwesome There's some truth in that but i'd argue that pushing (existing) boundaries isn't just about making new genres but re-inventing things within those we already have.
Death Stranding certainly did that with it's movement mechanics, whether you liked that or not. Hideo Kojima has made a career of thinking outside the box often on some of the simplest things we expect, surprising us in small and sometimes even bigger ways. Whether that be Metal Gear (Using items in novel ways like cigarettes to spot laser beams... on the NES!), MGS1 (Psycho mantis memory card reading and controller 2 solution) P.T. (unique game based teaser) or Death Stranding (non automated balance/movement) just to mention but a few things. Yes like most auteurs, there's usually a degree of self-indulgence but there's little doubt he is a genius in spite of that.
You are also right that on the surface there is nothing special about empowering games via the cloud, many games do it in different ways. (BTW I'm calling it 'cloud empowered' rather than 'cloud gaming' for obvious reasons to eliminate confusion with things like XCloud) Whether that be Fortnite or Genshin Impact that always require the cloud connection to play and prevent cheating their in game stores or MS Flight Sim that streams in world data and weather conditions. Though i'd strongly argue that MSFS is truly something special in what it does, it is ground breaking tech and the definition of pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
I expect, and maybe this will be proven to be completely wrong, that Hideo's cloud based game will be something that can only be done with that technology, hasn't been done before at scale, and once again push the boundaries of our own expectations as he has done so many times before.
