Earlier this week, SEGA revealed the ending theme for Sonic Frontiers. It's a new track from Japanese rock band One Ok Rock named Vandalize, and it has big mid-2000s energy. Now, the publisher has also revealed the game's main theme song, and it has a similar vibe. Give it a listen above.
This track is called I'm Here, and has several credits to its creation:
- Vocals & Lyrics by Merry Kirk-Holmes (To Octavia)
- Composed & Arranged by Tomoya Ohtani
- Strings Arranged by Takahito Eguchi
- Guitars & Programming by MEG
- Strings by Muroya Strings
Curiously, we've yet to hear any tunes from Crush 40, the band which almost exclusively makes music for Sonic games. It's possible that SEGA is trying something new with this game's OST; Frontiers is, after all, a big departure from previous entries with its open zone structure and mysterious narrative. We're sure the band will get its opportunity to shine — perhaps in the cyber space stages, which seem to be more traditional.
Anyway, what do you think of all this new Sonic music? Turn it up in the comments section below.

The cheese level is through the roof. So a typical modern Sonic theme! 😄
Sounds like something a Blink 182 tribute band were forced to knock-up after being held hostage in North Korea and told 'you've got 5 minutes, and keep the blindfolds on'
It’s a bit too American teen punk band for me, it’s not terrible though.
Sonic R on the Saturn still has the best music in the Sonic universe, but I’m hoping this game can deliver like Sonic Adventure did on the Dreamcast.
I still love SEGA, damn it! Please be descent Sonic Frontiers!
They should’ve used Little V Mills’ Sonic forces infinite cover, now that slaps!
@Kienda everybody's super sonic racing 🎵
It’s okay I guess, but then again ‘Live and Learn’ is a high bar to even get close to.
Not been following the game much but seems like this will be a series rather than a one-off based on the lyrics.
“goes hard” …. speaking of 2005
nah , im just kidding , i still say that
@Korgon those sonic themes back in the day are cheesy ?
@Would_you_kindly sing it!
When I was a kid I used to put the Sonic R game disc in the PC and play it while I did my homework. Good times.
Say what you want about modern Sonic games, but the music is always on point. I like this, gets me in the mood to play the game. I’m probably looking forward to this more than God of War Ragnarök.
@nomither6
What the old school 2D ones? They didn't have much of a theme song really other than CD. In my head I seperate 3D Sonic as modern Sonic and 2D as classic Sonic.
Not really feeling it, but seems to fit the game I suppose.
I find this kind of music to be alright, but the mesh with Sonic footage makes me laugh. It's got a similar vibe to it as a YouTube music video by a kid who thought mixing up his favorite game and favorite song would be the coolest thing.
"Like it's 2005?" Think you're conspicuously one year off there, natch; this song screams (literally) big "His World" (https://youtu.be/ej5MN9lPZXw) energy... which I'm actually totally there for, but should really lead to a substantially more salacious headline, if we're being honest.
Is it just Senor Chen saying “Ha, GAYYYYYYY”?
Guess sonic is stuck with this type of music, i'll bet they have test it out with other genre's but i can't imagine how this will connect with a dynamic caracter such a sonic.
Personaly, i love the sonic adventure game, because of its diversity in music between levels, all other games where horrible imo.
But maybe sega has to make a new mascot, sonic is too outdated.
Still i look forward to frontier, see what sega made of it. Lets hope for a demo
Music is very catchy! Looking forward to the game .
