Unlocking the Platinum Trophy for The Last of Us: Part I is going to prove a simpler task than it did for the 2013 original and the PS4 remaster that followed a year later. The PS5 remake's Trophy list is available to view now on Exophase, and it reveals there are 21 fewer trinkets to unlock and that you won't need to worry about difficulty levels anymore.
The two previous versions required you to beat the game on Survivor difficulty, and then run through the game a second time via New Game Plus. On PS5, there are no difficulty-related Trophies whatsoever. The shorter list of digital gongs is also trimmed down due to the multiplayer Factions mode not making it into the PS5 remake. Furthermore, the Trophies tied to the Left Behind campaign have now been implemented into the base list since the side story starring Ellie and Riley is included in your purchase.
You'll still need to find all the Firefly Pendants, collect every Comic, and scavenge for notes and artefacts. Surviving all of Ellie's jokes also still nets you a Bronze Trophy. There are actually quite a few new ones, including petting Buckley the dog, stopping short of giving Ellie a high five, and picking up Frank's note once it's been discarded.
We'll have a full The Last of Us: Part I Trophy Guide going up on the site in the near future, but until then, check out our PS5 review and plot your course to the Platinum Trophy in the comments below.

@PlatinumPlaystation It’s almost as if you just…didn’t read the article whatsoever 😂
I completed the main story of the remaster came out with a whole 1 trophy 🤣🤣
@LiamCroft literally second paragraph haha
Grounded trophies will likely be added as DLC trophies like remastered and part 2 did.
My course to the trophy: Wait for deep sale.
Pretty happy that no multiplayer trophies are needed since...there isn't one in the remake. I've never liked mp trophies in the first place (unless it was co-op).
You have to refuse Ellie's high five? Well I guess I'm not getting the Platinum, then.
I think I paid $10 for Left Behind long ago and never played it. I think it was on PS3 which is now sitting on a bar stool under a pile of blankets, for some reason. Not that I would ever pay $60 for this, or $30, or maybe even $10, but if it did come to PS+, has Left Behind now been integrated into TLoU or is it a separate link on the main menu?
Complete nonsense.
Platinumd them both on PS4 and PS3.
Would've loved to do so again on PS5 if it had multiplayer
They'll put the difficulty trophies back in later as DLC.
Well, that’s a bit disappointing. Going a bit overboard with their, otherwise admirable, accessibility policy.
@Jmck87
Did this with the original version, just didn’t like the game enough to play again.
Most of the platinum hours in TLoU Remastered (and I'd assume in the original as well) were sunk into grinding the multiplayer stuff, so no wonder a version without Factions would be easier. In terms of time spent, beating Survivor/Grounded totally paled in comparison to the MP struggle. It was way more fun, too.
Personally if/when I get this remake I'll just do a Hard playthrough like I first did on Remastered, and call it a day. Grounded made for an interesting run, but once is enough.
@PlatinumPlaystation I think more than likely they'll do what they did with part 2 and add them later as DLC.
@thefourfoldroot1 I never got round to it first time not likely to play it again to be fair.
The all conversation trophy glitched on me on the 2014 remaster. While I welcome no annoying online multiplayer trophies I'm not a fan of super easy or quick plats. I did enjoy part 2 but the plat was done in 1 and a half playthrough. Although part 1 and part 2 ain't short games I like trophies to extend my playtime in fun ways. They'll most likely only add 2 or 3 extra free dlc trophies for grounded and maybe permadeath but I'd like them to add more other dlc trophies for other things like a trophy for completing the game with certain accessibility options on which I think will be a good thing using trophies to advertise accessibility options more or maybe complete the game without killing a clicker where possible or something like that I dunno. Or Extra trophy for speedrunning it in 7 hours or a speedrun trophy completing Left Behind in 90 minutes
the platinum is too easy and can be done in one playthrough which is a shame.
Seems like an easy and fun to get Platinum. I was happy to see no multiplayer trophies. No difficulty trophies makes it even easier. I'll still play through the game on grounded anyways, because I love TLOU so much. So hyped for this & Made in Abyss Collector's Edition tomorrow!
I mean, if the accessibility options are anything like Part 2, they make the difficulty trophies a joke so makes sense to just cut out the middle man.
@rjejr Cool Story..
I shall collect these new trophies and be merry (once the game drops to $40 or less)!
One of the reasons ill probably never play this. Im not one of these trophy hunters that love a walk-through platinums. The challenge of platinuming the original and finishing grounded mode was one the greatest joys I've had hunting trophies.
What is the point of trophies if there's no difficulty attached to unlocking them. It's not like the original platinum was tremendously difficult, the only annoying one was the online grind, but even that wasn't so bad cause it was a fun multiplayer.
@Fill3rup_ You forgot the "Bro" 😂
I hardly got any Trophies in the first one & part 2 really. Considering I loved both games I just found it to tedious to go for them. I am not a fan anymore of difficultly & collecting Trophies at all. I haven't got time to do it nowadays!
The only two trophies I'm missing from the remaster is the Multiplayer ones
If you collect everything in the first playthrough you should only need the one playthrough on Survivor as someone I read completed it and got the platinum had spoke about it.
Sifting through literal trash to find specific trash items, yeah not fun. Some lists for trophies are absolutely awful.
Good, to be honest. The trophies for the crushing mode on an Uncharted are unreachable for me.
I want a challenge, not frustrating.
Good good good, the faction multiplayer stuff was mind numbing
While I am happy it's an easier platinum, still not buying this until on sale for $20 New in a few years.
@BoldAndBrash So play the game for the game then and get another platinum. The MP was garbage, they're doing fans a favor by removing such a cancerous mode.
@JaaackTommyyy Not quite. Xbox usually has some tediously annoying MP achievements making up the majority of any game's list. Achievements/trophies have no business being in MP games as it forces the community to be divided between those hunting and those not. Nothing in gaming should ever inhibit another's enjoyment, meaning if I'm trying to play with a group of people half my team shouldn't intentionally hinder our chances because they're all boosting for trophies. The sooner developers remove these accolades from MP titles entirely the better.
Guess they feel bad for charging 70 bucks? No, no, that can't be it.
@RobynAlecksys I feel exactly the same way. And if you by the game later, but the servers are shut down, your paying for trophies you can't even try to get anymore. Maybe have a separate list of trophies for online. That way, if you platinum the game, but don't care about online, no loss. But if you care about both, then your trophy count will be higher for the same game.
Less because of less content. Yaaayy!!
@Dr_Luigi do yourself a favor and get it on the remaster. The higher difficulties let the game design shine.
I mean at this point they need an excuse to convince someone to buy it... Guess they're trying their luck on trophy hunters...
