CD Projekt Red has provided the smallest of updates on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Complete Edition, via the company's latest financial statement. Despite the fact that we still haven't seen the enhanced PS5 version in action, the studio says that it is still set to release this year. More specifically, in the fourth quarter of 2022.
In other words, CDPR's plans haven't changed. Some fans have been wondering whether the project would be pushed back again, given the apparent lack of information, but it seems as though we'll finally be hearing about Geralt's return soon. And that makes sense, seeing as the developer's just released a load of new details on the future of Cyberpunk 2077, including the official reveal of the game's 2023 expansion, Phantom Liberty.
So there you have it, Witcher fans — it's still happening this year. Are you ready to slay some monsters again? Make sure your swords are sharp in the comments section below.

I'm looking forward to replaying but I'll believe it when I see it.
I might try this for a fifth time Seriously want to love this but find it sooo hard to get into.
@Jammsbro Same here, I've tried it before and the gameplay felt too clunky. I'm hoping this new version will fix those issues I had with it.
for the love of god please update the clunky controls. id happily play it again but this needs sorting.
I'm long due another playthrough but I'd like to play it when the next Netflix TV season comes
Installed and ready for the update to start playing.
Put in maybe 2 hours on PC and couldn't get into it but maybe now I'll be able to. I surely hope the update looks better than the OG did on my old 970. Hairworks was fun for like 5 minutes I guess.
Looking forward to it. Platinumed the ps4 version and played Hearts of Stone but never played Blood and Wine.
My medallion's humming in anticipation. Either that or there's a place of power near, gotta be.
@TraCuz-
Okay, so English is not my native language and I learned English during school or through media. I do not get what it means when gamers say that a certain game/gameplay is "clunky." What does "clunky" means or imply when talking about gameplay?
@sword_9mm you’ll have to download the PS5 version separately when it’s available. This isn’t just a patch, so it won’t update the PS4 you have installed.
@OneWingedAngel clunky means a bit akward, jarring, a little rough, unwieldy, not as smooth as you'd like.
@Jammsbro I’m the same. I have the game and all the DLC but can’t get past the first hour. I can’t stand the northern Irish accent in it. I’m from the north of ireland as well which makes it worse
@riceNpea
Can you describe it more specifically like referring to actual gameplay mechanics? For example, the buttons are not responsive, the animations are too long, etc.
@OneWingedAngel Controlling the character is hard to control or slow/sluggish.
Hell Yeah! Death March Difficulty from the get go on this playthrough
This will be platinum #200 for me. Already ramping up my numbers as I'm hoping this is out in December.
@Shstrick
Oh right.
It's not installed after checking. Just in there when I got the thing on sale.
So yeah, license in hand; just waiting for the application availability.
@YeoSprings
That is one of the things that put me off originally.
The char moves like he's wearing lead shoes and the combat is full jank at best. I also hope they ironed that out but wouldn't be surprised if this is just a shinier coat of paint.
@OneWingedAngel oh sure. I'd imagine if someone were describing the gameplay as clunky they would be finding it a bit unresponsive, perhaps button presses aren't corresponding exactly to the action you want to see it do on-screen; pressing X to climb over a wall sees your avatar jump at the wall instead or fail to grab the ledge properly.
Perhaps clunky could mean like in GTA where its sometimes awkward to line up headshots with guns because the aim doesn't quite go where you think it should when you move the stick.
Or the animations are a bit stiff and don't flow from one to another smoothly when you perform actions creating a bit of lag that makes doing stuff a little more difficult than it needs to be. Things like that.
@riceNpea
I see. Yeah, I have experienced such annoyances in several games including Witcher 3. Thank you for taking the time to explain.
@Boucho11 haha from Derry and the accent threw me off. Theres a Island called Skellige in The Witcher 3 and if you closed your eyes you would think youve gone to Belfast for the weekend
@Boucho11 are you from the North of Ireland or from Northern Ireland? I love the Northern Irish accent spoken by a lady.
Can't wait to sink another 200 or so hours into this, and that's just Gwent.
@OneWingedAngel There are few combat choices, basically heavy and light swing and both feel super light and have no impact control. The spells are the same and very loose mechanically. The acutal movement is stilted and clunky and Geralt feels like a stiff old man rather than a high power warrior. It's very, very generic and clunky.
@riceNpea thats a funny subject hahah. Let’s just say they’re one and the same
@SuperSilverback makes my toes curl
When it comes out I will probably be playing it immediately, this is going to be the definitive way for me to play.
@Boucho11 😁would people on both sides of the border agree with that?
Wanted to go adventuring but was overwhelmed by the amount of swords and breeches I carried around.
@riceNpea probably not….. do they ever agree on anything. I honestly dont care what anyone calls it, it’s a cesspit 😂
@Boucho11 fair enough, but the red haired, green eyed ladies there I'd bite my arm off to get to know.
Along with Ragnarok this is the game im waiting for, I had 30+ hrs in the ps4 version but stopped once I heard the enhanced version coming.
@riceNpea hahah mythical creatures
@sword_9mm Did you happen to have a glitch that made the well in White Orchard look all insane and glitchy?
@willi3su
Don't even think I got that far. I got into town, played about 10 minutes of that silly card game, then fought some blue guys. After that I gave up as it was just not very fun with lead pants mcgee.
I don't need some craziness like Bayonetta but Witcher guy was just a chore to fight with.
Witcher 3 is up there, top 3 games ever. And i usually get fed up and frustrated with a lot of games especially western rpgs. Something about the storytelling grabbed me.
Also from the "north of Ireland" and yeah the accents are hillarious to hear in the game
I'll give it another chance if the controls/combat is changed. This is one of the few games where the controls alone killed it for me.
Day one without a doubt.
@OneWingedAngel it means the controls arent tuned properly. Response is slow.
I have tried like 4 different times to actually play this game and I never get farther than the bloody Baron.
I've been wanting to finally play more of it over this past year but I'm waiting for the next generation update. Hopefully it won't be too much longer
I'm really curious on how improved it will be, it feels like its taking to long to just be 4K/60fps or whatever. Well whatever it does i just can't wait to replay it for what i think is the 4th or 5th time now
It'll be my first time playing it and I can't wait. Really glad the release window is still Q4
For those that find the controls clunky, try switching to 'alternative movement' in the options and put the movement speed down to zero. It does make it much better.
I’ve just finished my 5th playthrough and clocked up another 200 hours so no, I’m not interested at all …
… but of course I am and though I may say not yet I’m sure I’ll dive right back in again the second the PS5 version arrives. Well, it is the best game ever and boy, it still looked gorgeous despite its age. Pamparamparam!
Do we think we’ll get two separate trophy lists for the complete edition (NA & EU) like we already do on the PS4? I’d love to platinum it twice on the PS5. Such a great game.
@Zenne96 game really begins to shine after the Baron and dlc is amazing
Very excited I’ve been waiting to reply this
Bought it years ago, but never got around playing it. I will as soon as the ps5 upgrade is out.
Great! Toss a coin to your witcher on PS5 then!
Take your time CD Projekt Red, my backlog isn't shrinking anytime soon.
