Valkyrie Elysium launches in just a few days, on 29th September, and we have gleaned some new information from the upcoming action RPG from the Famitsu review of the game via Noisy Pixel. Firstly, the title will take roughly 20 hours to complete, and secondly, the game will feature multiple endings, providing an incentive to double dip if you are so inclined.
Elysium is the latest entry in the long-running Valkyrie series, which heavily incorporates elements of Norse mythology into its plot and setting. You play as Maria, a Valkyrie tasked by Odin the All-Father with preventing Ragnarok, and thus the end of all things.
The title is also receiving a free content update in early October, which will add additional difficulty options and a new game mode, giving players that blitz through the game at launch something else to sink their teeth into.
Are you looking forward to Valkyrie Elysium? Did you play previous games in the franchise? Choose only the most worthy amongst you to ascend to Push Square's own version of Valhalla: the comments section below.

I'm enjoying it on early access. The last one i played was Silmeria. And even though the battle system has changed to real time, i'm finding it very reminiscent of Silmeria.
Or that could just be my nostalgia glasses speaking π
Looking forward to the reviews to see what others think π€
Relatively short for a Valkyrie Profile game. I wonder if they'll make you replay it a couple of time like Nier did to get the full story or whatever. I'm not a fan of all the games going realtime combat nowadays but if it scores well I might check it out.
Does any one know how many einherjars there are? And how big are the skill trees?
Based on the demo, this game is great and goes to show that reveal knee jerk reactions are pointless.
Replay value and more content is great news.
So the free content will be additional difficulty levels and ng+? Why not just release the game with that included as to me thats not free content and more like things that should be in place as standard..
I remember the first game had a good ending that was basically impossible to get without a guide π
I really liked the demo from what I played. It reminded me of the trials of mana remake. Just solid fun, not too big, 3d jrpgs from SE. And the screenshots they took for the review look great, definitely got me more hyped for this
I am definitely excited for game. Played all I could from demo.
Playing the demo now and loving it. Definitely buying it when it comes out. Anyone know where the ring is for that quest?
Edit: Never mind. You have to finish the level before you can do quests. Now I'm at a point where it just says "go to the astral globe and complete subquests". I only have two and I've done them both. Is it meant to stay like this?
The trophy icons are also very similar to Nier Automata. Pointless observation I realise.
Jumped back in to the early access last night with my save from the demo.
I've been loving what I've played. Just some good solid fantasy hack n slash fun.
Looks like I'm definitely in the minority here. Thought the demo was generally quite bland and generic apart from a couple of interesting mechanics. Also thought the graphics looked like a PS2/3-era game in some areas like environments and textures. That's why demos are good though eh? Each to their own and all that! Also appreciate it's not the finished article but all I have to go on for now.
@Gooseman42 It hits my nostalgia hard. I probably would have bounced off of it if not for that. I love that it feels like a modern PS2 game. Feels like Square Enix are getting back to basics.
@Gooseman42 Nah, I got the exact same feeling. Despite the game having low graphics I still experienced numerous noticeable FPS drops (PS5). Not a good sign, but perhaps itβs fixed in the full version.
I did enjoy the combat though. Still on the fence if I should purchase it or not. If it got a good story and interesting combat/characters I can definitely look past the mediocre graphics.
Just reposting my question here so it's more obvious. Is the demo meant to have an actual end screen or not? I'm at a part where it tells me to do subquests and I've done the only 2 I have but it doesn't move on.
Cool thats enough hours.the demo was enjoyable.word up son
@Matroska nah just stops allowing you to progress after the sub quests, next part is talking to Odin which advances the game, but in the demo, just nothing happens
Looking forward to it.
@Northern_munkey I agree, readding features they removed to pretend they worked on an update with free content.
Despite being rough in a few areas I generally enjoyed the demo, definitely much more then SO: The Divine Force thats for sure.
Can't wait, picking this up Friday.
