Activision has revealed some more exclusive content coming to PlayStation players jumping into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. It's nothing too crazy, just some cosmetics, XP boosts and two additional loadout slots. But considering the contentious climate we currently exist in, in regards to console exclusivity, well, we are sure there may be some ruffled feathers come launch day. Oh wait, that's today. Make sure to drink plenty of water to counteract high levels of sodium.
This series of bonuses is the latest piece of exclusive content PlayStation players have been afforded, following the PS5, PS4-only beta period that ran last month. Probably the biggest leg-up that PlayStation players will get here is in regards to the Battle Pass Bundle, with the PS faithful getting an additional five tier skips, allowing them to unlock new gear and goodies faster, although those extra Double XP events surely can't hurt, either.
What do you think of the bonus content coming to PlayStation players in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, a bit much or well deserved? Let us know in the comments section below.

Having benefits for anything in life is nice but I would rather this be given to everyone wherever you play.
I know Playstation has the marketing rights ATM with the Cod stuff but imagine when Microsoft own Activision, it might look good to alot of people having these benefits but maybe not in the long run.
@hoffa007 well giving exclusive benetifts to everyone... then its called content . Makes no sense
They should of made sure the game actually works it's a mess can't access settings in game can't leave a game or even change guns in some games. The campaign keeps crashing since the day one update too ***** joke of a launch as usual. There's no hardcore mode either at launch wouldn't have bought the game if I'd known that.
Total low key release for COD this year in the UK
I know on PlayStation Direct they had few COD special console bundles sold out now.
But in the general shops nothing at all with the PS5 special bundle like there was for FIFA 23.
I’m guessing they are saving consoles for the GOW special console bundle in early November.
Normally Xbox do a counter move with say a series s and x with the game added at a reduced price or for free like FIFA, but nothing for COD.
What a soft release for COD.
Thanks cryin' Jim!
Keep fighting the good fight!
@djape always has been dawg
@Rangers420 hard core mode as in hardest difficulty? If so I remember reading somewhere u have to beat the campaign to unlock it
Realism mode I've found it
https://www.sportskeeda.com/esports/how-unlock-realism-mode-modern-warfare-2-campaign
Isn't this the kinda thing playstation have been crying about will be unfair that Xbox could have if the Activision deal goes through lmao...daft hypocrites
I bought the game on ps5 btw so I'm not complaining just ridiculous the nerve
@Martsmall That's for single player I'm talking about the hardcore mode online where you have limited health and no mini map it's been confirmed it's not available at launch but coming soon apparently even though it's been there on day one of every other Call of duty game. I find it easier to get kills on hardcore as my aim is a bit all over the place now lol.
@Rangers420 oh ok sorry thought I was helping out
I don't play multiplayer I stick to the single player campaign
@Cherip-the-Ripper kinda sucks and is getting old👍
@Rangers420 thanks for the info. Will wait until HC mode is available before purchase.
@Martsmall no worries mate cheers for the info anyway ill give the realism mode a go at some point.
@NojahZA I would have done the same if I'd known there's not really any reason why it shouldn't be there day one.
I think this just highlights the hypocrisy of Sony when they say to the British Regulators (CMA) investigating the ABK acquisition that they are worried that they will no longer have parity when it comes to Call of Duty. Say what now? Parity? Parity means that both Xbox and PlayStation get the same version of the game, yet that hasn't been the same for years (I believe that it started from the outset of the last generation of consoles) and has at times seen an entire mode (Spec Ops) being absent from the Xbox for an entire year (i.e. it arrives on the Xbox just as the next game arrives) making it basically redundant on the platform. Sony's 'concern' is such a joke in reality, and thus their argument is, in reality, exceptionally hypocritical.
Just to be clear, I'm not saying that Sony doing marketing deals, or exclusivity deals, is wrong, what I'm saying is that Sony's comments to the CMA are hypocritical in regard to 'parity'...
I understand how this makes sony look like hypocrites, but at the same time it's trivial stuff they are rewarding their fans with. I mean if it was an exclusive mode or map then yeah that would be bad but it's just extra stuff the average player won't care about and won't really effect people on other consoles.
Its kinda disappointing sony are paying for this stuff, from someone who's not really into call of duty multiplayer, I will be happy when sony lose the marketing rights to this series, that's hundreds of millions saved to spend elsewhere on better games.
I absolutely agree with you, @UltimateOtaku91, which as you well know, is not a regular occurrence!
It's the same when it comes to Sony apparently paying Activision to not put their games on to the Game Pass. Sony should be using that money to improve their own service, not hamper their competitors services...
@Fiendish-Beaver haha I will also agree with you some more, people used to say xbox buying Bethesda was to hurt the competition more than it was to strengthen the xbox brand, but you can say the same about sony paying for this exclusive content, timed games and to keep games off rival subscriptions services, is that to hurt the competition?
Sony need to start pumping that money into making their own fans happy, instead of trying to make their rivals fans unhappy.
@Dezzy70 Interesting that the release is so quiet on the Sony front this year.
I wonder why Sony doesn't want to promote the advantages (no matter how great or small) the platform has with the Call of Duty franchise? I mean, you would think it would want to sway people towards PlayStation on one of the biggest game franchises in the world. Seems like good business sense, to me.
@GamingFan4Lyf
Compared to the usual in the UK it is a quiet COD release. I think it is because there are no PS5 consoles really available in stores and none of the PS5 COD bundles about at all.
Plus they will have a massive GOW console bundle and advertising in early November.
@Fiendish-Beaver The thing that people are forgetting. Is that Microsoft had the same type of deal going with Activision. They use to get map pack 4 weeks before ps3 would get them. Also had numerous other things as well. Microsoft was the first company to have that type of deal. Now Sony is doing it Microsoft ain't happy with it. Myself I look at the bigger picture when it comes to company's buying other company's out. I think Sony are doing the right thing in trying to block the deal. If you remember when they bought Bethesda. They said starfield would be cross gen then the deal went through and now its not cross gen. Microsoft has lied about things for years and is in a bit of a mess. Think about it they have no first party titles ready for gamepass this year. So now they are trying to buy up all the big players in the market. To make them exclusive. They don't give a ***** about the gamers or consoles. All they care about is gamepass. I have both so don't affect me at all. I don't like the way Microsoft is going about it all. Just because they messed up with the developers they use to have like bungi for example. They will do the same with Activision if they get them. It is just a shame that Microsoft didn't get it right. Microsofts business model just ain't sustainable the way it is atm and I fear for the future of gaming
@Rangers420
The TTK in Core isn’t bad at all. People go down quick.
Basically the TTK is in between Cold War and the usual Hardcore modes. You don’t die being grazed once by an assault rifle like you do in hardcore. But center mass hits put you down in two shots reliably.
Do people really give a damn about this stuff lol
And free coaster aka your game....
@Fiendish-Beaver They learned from the best MS.
Is it fair to say PlayStation is call of duty’s biggest platform? I know GTAV sold more than twice the amount of copies on PS than XBOX
