Gotham Knights is currently brooding on the edge of its 21st October release date, and the superhero action game will let you play solo or with one other player. However, with a main cast of four heroes — Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, and Red Hood — some fans have been holding out for a way to team up as a foursome. Here's some good news: the game will be getting a four-player mode shortly after release.
From 29th November, just over a month after launch, players will be able to squad up in Heroic Assault, a four-player co-op mode separate from the main campaign. Details are scarce at the moment, though there are a few snippets in the FAQ on the official website. Heroic Assault is described as a "dedicated arena-like environment" in which your team of four have "specific objectives to complete and enemies to defeat" across a maximum of 30 floors. To be clear, then, you can't play the main campaign with four players — it's just this extra mode.
It'll be added into the game via a free update, so all you need to do is install the patch when it hits on 29th November. Are you interested in 4-player co-op in Gotham Knights? Swoop into the comments section below.

This sounds quite cool! I’m looking forward to playing this though I’ve no idea what character I’m going to play with
@Kairu yes...roll on the 21st..
Fixed the article — new mode comes 29th November, not October. Apologies for any confusion.
Why not just make the whole game 4 player co op? Do developers even want to add fun to their games at this point?
ahhh, and here is where we see it.... the live service free to play model baked into the game through a standalone side by side roughly release.
lame. This has Avengers again written all over it
Had this tagged to buy on release. Right up till I found out it was two player campaign instead of four. This don't make up for it.
The fact that this game seems to be locked at 30fps on PS5 has me very concerned about the overall product. Let’s see some reviews and we’ll talk additional modes later.
at least they’re adding some form of 4 player co-op i guess . i hope i feel the same way about it that i did fighting force back on PS1 . either way WB montreal made my favorite arkham game of all time so i still got high hopes . AND I STILL WANT A ORIGINS REMASTER !!
@Colour i thought it would be more concerning about the MidStation 5 than the game but , yeah , we’ll see
@Eldritch i’m indecisive myself about this situation . it’s like - at least they added 4 player but at the same time - why not 4 player campaign ? it’s like a mind trick going for the low hanging fruit .
@KundaliniRising333 how’s this live-service ?
@KundaliniRising333 Just as an FYI, I've seen numerous YouTubers who've already played this game for hours and they've all dispelled your notion that this is a live service game. They've all stated that is completely incorrect and not at ALL anything like Avengers.
@nomither6 Agreed. I'm holding out for Suicide Squad now as that seems to be for four players. Shame but I think they've dropped a clanger making this only two player.
Sounds like something that should be on the game at launch. Oh well, it's 2022 after all.
@KundaliniRising333 my thoughts exactly lol
@Quintumply It is also my birthday a day later!
Just started watching Titans on Netflix so looking forward to this 😁

I want a ps5 to play this but then again I still have the Xbox series s so I won't miss out when this comes to gamepass!
@nomither6 This would be more about poor game optimization than anything else, so stop deflecting the blame elsewhere and giving WB a pass. It is their studio.
Also, if it is locked at 30fps on PS5, then it is locked at 30fps on Xbox Series X (and who knows about Series S, that thing is already obsolete).
@rpg2000 didn’t know you worked for them and had inside information
Locked at 30 FPS on PS5 so cancelled my pre order!
Apparently it only runs at 30 fps on ps5 this was supposed to be a cross gen release until recently lol
@Would_you_kindly What the actual f? I was planning to play this on PS5. But 30 fps is a no go for me. PC it is then. Bummer…
Seemingly confirmed on Twitter, great…
https://is.gd/9zCIvX
So 30fps on console because apparently they can't lower resolution/settings to hit 60 because of the games "features"
Meanwhile on Steam a 1660ti is good for 60fps at 1080p 🤦♂️
@KundaliniRising333 its not a live service game..the developers have already stated that so why keep saying the same old rhetoric?
@nomither6 Demon Souls looks a million times better and that runs at 60FPS i think if thats the case its just a terrible engine. Het and its on consoles so also on your precious Xbox.
@Northern_munkey a Ryzen 5 3600 which is a budget CPU
@Northern_munkey who cares about price? I'm not trying to sell anyone into PC gaming. My point is the PS5 and Series X should have no problem hitting 60fps given the PC requirements to do so
@carlos82 forget this monkey guy. He literally argues to argue with anyone that points out facts or concerning discrepancies and/or levels any criticism on this site. Just another blindly allegiant individual to all things Sony and out to do nothing but cheerlead and advertise for them no matter what . I say this as an exclusively Sony console player since ps1, but an individual whom can still criticise when it's valid to do so.
Your point about the specs to run on pc are less than the specs of ps5 and directly contradict their claims that resolution decrease cannot make 60fps possible is valid.
It's looking more like they rushed this out without that being implemented and deliberately waited until a week before release to mention that...
@KundaliniRising333 it's just bizarre, he's having a completely different conversation to me.
Anyway back on point, yeah I suspect its probably more a development time constraint than anything. I find it hard for them to argue its a hardware issue when their advertised PC specs are lower.
Even if somehow it was a technical reason, then why not at least have a separate solo mode to allow higher framerates for those that won't be playing coop anyway.
@carlos82 yah that was my thought too. If it really is an issue with Co op tethering, then why not increase the performance via an offline solo only toggle.
This news alongside the other concerns being raised during previews really makes this just feel like a game that needed more development time.
@carlos82 @KundaliniRising333 ok look i'll say sorry to both of you for taking things out of context a tad there..no offence intended so lets not fall out over a discussion that went a bit a off kilter..
@Flaming_Kaiser i don’t have a “precious” xbox
