The long-in-development System Shock remake may finally launch in March 2023, if an updated Steam listing for the title is anything to go by. The change was noted by industry analyst and insider Wario64, over on Twitter.
This particular incarnation of System Shock began life as a Kickstarter project, with a PS4 version of the game announced all the way back in 2016. After a series of delays and years of laying low, the title re-emerged, but information has been relatively scant since, aside from the news that the future of the franchise is now in the hands of publisher Tencent.
It's possible that the March date is a placeholder; we will just have to wait and see on that score. The last trailer we got maintained that System Shock would still launch in 2022, so it's entirely possible we see more from this one before the end of the year, as well.
What do you make of this whole situation? Are you still excited to get your hands on the System Shock remake? Rail against the injustice of it all in the comments section below.

It's a placeholder, probably for a Q1 2023 or Q2 launch
I’m going to be buying this on PC and PS5. It will have to take a big graphic hit playing on my laptop, but this is my OG game from when I was a youth. I need a copy on my PC (the original had a great HD upgrade on GOG.com). And on PS5 so I can play it in all its 4K VRR RT OLED glory while sitting my old ass in the couch. I was really hoping for a collectors edition but I’ll take what I can.
With people liking hard games again (thanks DS and Elden Ring!) I’m sure this will find a new fanbase with the younger gen.
Hoe is this lucky even more releases in the start of the year some games will tank hard even if they are quality because they will get buried.
