God of War Ragnarok has only been out for a week or two, but studios will always be working on something. For the game's director, Eric Williams, he's hoping a future opportunity will see him and the team working on Konami's iconic action series, Castlevania.

Speaking to Kinda Funny in a spoiler-filled Ragnarok video, the director makes a statement about the series in the closing minutes. After co-host Tim Gettys jokes about Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Williams comments on his desire to make a new entry. "You guys can make it happen, you have the audience," he says. "I don't know what I'm doing next, but [if] somebody gives me that Castlevania licence, we would love to make that."

The series has of course not had a proper new game since Lords of Shadow 2, though re-releases of older entries and a Netflix animated show have kept fan interest alive. A new Castlevania from Santa Monica Studio sounds like a great fit to us, even if it does seem quite unlikely at this stage. That said, the studio is spread out on a lot of different things at the moment.

We'll be interested to see what Williams does next, at any rate. Would you like to see him helm Castlevania? Tell us in the comments section below.
