Sony’s gradually been porting large chunks of its catalogue to PC, and it even acquired Dutch developer Nixxes to expedite its efforts. With rumours of Returnal coming to storefronts like Steam soon, developer Polyphony Digital has hinted that Gran Turismo 7 could also see a release on computers in the near future.
Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi commented briefly on the possibility in an interview with GT Planet at the Gran Turismo World Finals in Monaco this weekend. Asked if his team would consider a conversion of its latest acclaimed sim racer, the auteur admitted, “Yes, I do think so.” It’s worth noting that the release was listed in an all-encompassing NVIDIA leak, which has turned out to be largely true.
Yamauchi was eager to temper expectations, however, explaining that the title is effectively designed to take full advantage of PlayStation hardware: “There are not many platforms which could run the game in 4K, 60fps natively, so one way we make that possible is to narrow down the platform. It’s not a very easy subject, but of course, we are looking into it and considering it.”
Gran Turismo 7 is, obviously, already a multiformat title, as it spans two generations of PlayStation: both PS5 and PS4. As such, we can’t imagine there’d be too many issues converting this to computers – even if it came with some hefty hardware requirements attached. While there are a number of racing sims already available on PC, there’s nothing quite like Gran Turismo, and we reckon this would prove popular.

If they do it & modders find a way to circumvent the always online connection so you can play it offline then sony / polyphony digital better patch in offline mode on the playstation version
It's one of the games that makes the most sense to port.
That would be really cool. Livery design is already mental, can’t wait to see what we’d get with mods. I’d be up for racing as Lightning McQueen.
In which case we could see this on PCVR (mod) before PSVR2.
Looking forward to racing against 14 Thomas the Tank engines!
Gt7 with a modded single player campaign would be lovely…
I would love for you to do something about the pop-ins in GT7 on PS5 Kaz. There should not be any pop-ins on this game on the PS5 version, shadows that line up which the vehicle.
It would be entering a market (PC sim racers) with extremely stiff competition and gamers loyal to their favorite racers.
This Demon Souls and Horzion were all in the steam database leak.
Great, less PS exclusives… My next platforms will be PC and Switch successor if sony continues with this.
Good. Hope it'll have cross-platform multiplayer and VR for both platforms.
It could easily run on PC, there are far more sophisticated racing sims on PC than GT7 and this also runs on a PS4. The issue for this on PC is that it can't compete with the true sim racers, it's good at what it does but not really that close to the likes of ACC, iRacing etc
@eagletrippin Well GT isn't really a true SIM... It a sim-cade. So it only competition in that market is Forza Motorsports.

Push Square....and Space Bar.
I could see given the status of Microsoft trying to acquire Activision that Sony's presence for Game Awards announcements is all about PC and the only PS exclusives present are 1-2 3rd party games like FFXVI.
Then let's begin by launching a collection of the original gran turismos from PS1-PS4 first 😀
i dont mind it going to PC will be around a year later than PS anyway.
what i dislike is PS players pay more for a title that has been drip fed content, while PC get it immediate. PS kinda becoming testers
Was the game not already part of the Nvidia leaks? Pretty sure that it will come to pc sooner or later.
@-Sigma- True. I hope for some technical improvements for the ps5 with any new patch.
As long as they can stop modders from doing anything on official severs this could really benefit and grow GT community. My main fear is the (I hope minor portion) of PC community that will mod/cheat etc and ruin it for everyone else.
Realistic car damage mods would be ace
@xeofate Because to run the games on a PC, it would cost you more than double what a PS5 or PS6 will cost.
I get not being happy about the exclusives going to PC. It's business though, and we still get them well before PC players. My problem was when they were porting PS4 games to PC and then not releasing a patch for the game on PS5, so then PC players were getting a better version of the game even though it's only on PC because we all bought it on PS4. These are PS5 games now, so it should be less of an issue, but...
@Reeneman Don't expect any PS5 patches to add improvements that end up on PC. They refused to do it with PS4 games on PC, so I don't see them all of a sudden being nice and doing that. That is the only problem I see with exclusives going to PC, but people would rather complain about exclusives going to PC rather than the PC versions ending up being better.

@KilloWertz
Which games has been dropped on pc and not got a ps5 upgrade?
Lol, what "hefty hardware requirements"? It already runs on a PS4, which is slower than most of the slowest PC configurations still in use.
Wtf word up son
Would probably probably buy it at a sale for my Steam Deck (plus maybe a few select DLC cars if not too expensive).
I really enjoyed the 60's/70's cars in PSP GT.
@Sanquine
This is the combo I have had since late October. Sold my PS5, XSX and kept the Switch and PS3 for games that never made the jump to PS4. Already bought Days Gone, Detroit and Horizon on PC. Currently waiting for Returnal so I can play it modded with the difficulty toned down🙃
@Sanquine Me too tbh...But really, this is not a jab at Sony. They don't even make that much money from hardware. As long as you are buying their games, I'm sure you are part of the userbase of "playstation"
Although, I'm interested in PSVR so I might stick around with consoles, also waiting years to play some the big games might be enough for me to stay with consoles for the long-term. but PC is great value.
@Neverwild Detroit: Become Human, God of War, and Horizon Zero Dawn come to mind off the top of my head. I'd be surprised if I wasn't missing some though.
@xeofate I took it as you taking a shot at Sony for releasing more PlayStation exclusives on PC like thousands of other people have, but I guess I was wrong. Fair enough reason.
@xeofate only problem is they’re not day one. This has been out about a year on PS5.
@KilloWertz
God of war and Horizon have ps5 upgrades.
Detroit is not a Sony game so dont know why you include that.
So no every Sony ps4 game that dropped on pc also got a ps5 upgrade.
If they really want to make a ps6, porting current gen games to PC is a dire mistake.
Maybe if done 3 years down the line it won't be perceived as worth it, but the value of owning PS hardware is dropping when they do this.
@Neverwild I would barely call those PS5 upgrades.... "upgrades"
@Neverwild Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War got a patch for 60 FPS, yes, but they are not actual PS5 versions. They also don't have the graphical upgrades the PC versions have. Detroit: Become Human is a PS4 exclusive distributed by Sony, so it's not like Quantic Dream couldn't have patched the game. I know it's not distributed by Sony on PC, but it still qualifies as a PlayStation exclusive since it is on consoles.
End of an era of so-called exclusives...the only thing preventing this world from becoming a better place is the porting of Mario & Pokemon to PC.
“There are not many platforms which could run the game in 4K, 60fps natively...”
I just can't...
I'm more interested in hearing about them adding support to play the full game on the PSVR2. I have a PS5, and I'm sort of over the whole PC gaming thing for now.
I love how EVERYONE is hooked on 4k 60. I don't care about it being 1080, just give me 60 fps. That's why I love PC gaming, YOU, not the developer, get to choose which one is more important for YOU, and set the settings to YOUR liking.
