Modern Warfare 2, Warzone 2's Max Tokens Battle Pass Bug Under Investigation

Those of you frantically trying to claim your goodies from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s spiffy new Battle Pass system may have been hit by a bug where you’re being told you’ve got Max Tokens. The way the system works is that you earn tokens through gameplay, which you can then trade in for unlocks on a combat map. Each sector has four items and a High Value Target, which is usually some kind of nifty skin or more desirable cosmetic.

But if your game’s showing Max Tokens, rather than an accurate number of how many tokens you actually have, then you can’t spend anything. We had this issue all last night, but it’s resolved for us right now, and it looks like developer Infinity Ward is further investigating. In a post of known issues, published overnight, it admitted it’s aware of the bug and is actively investigating a fix. This is true across all platforms, including PS5 and PS4.

The developer’s also aware of issues with the social menu, which has been a bit buggy for us. Obviously, it’s also going to have to massage the title’s servers, as there were periods last night where we simply couldn’t login at all, but that goes without saying. We’ve included the studio’s list of known issues below:

Game-wide Issues:

• [All Platforms] Battle Tokens Error: An issue is being investigated that is causing players to encounter the “Max Tokens” error when attempting to spend tokens in the Battle Pass.
• [All Platforms] Social Menu: Some players are unable to access the Social Menu.
• [All Platforms] Operator Executions: An issue is being investigated that prevents players from equipping the default Operator Executions.
• [All Platforms] Play Again Disabled: The Play Again button after a match has been disabled while we investigate an issue.

Battle Royale Issues:

• [All Platforms] Inconsistent AAR: We’re investigating an issue that is preventing the After Action Report from consistently appearing for Players. This does not impact XP gains.
• [All Platforms] Missing Squad Widget: We’re aware of an issue causing squad members to not appear on the Squad Widget on the bottom left of the in-game interface.
• [All Platforms] Skipping Downed Phase: Some Players are Eliminated in situations where they should have been Downed.

How are you getting on with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 now that Season 1 is out and Warzone 2.0 is free for everyone to download? It was unplayable for us during peak hours yesterday, but we’re hoping things have settled down today and we can finally play through a few rounds.
