If you didn’t get the memo yet, Need for Speed Unbound is cool – it’s hip, trendy, lit. Y’know, everything you’re not! Anyway, despite the title’s cel-shaded look, it’s going to have tons of real-life brands inside it. And we’re talking proper fashionable labels here, like Palace Skateboards, Versace, Puma, Namilia, Danielle Guizio, ALPHA Industries, AWGE, Born x Raised, Brain Dead, Champion, EDWIN, FILA, GCDS , KHRISJOY, MKI MIYUKI ZOKU, NAPAPIJIRI, and Vans.
Yes, that’s a lot of CAPITAL LETTERS.
EA consulted with Toni-Blaze Ibekwe, the editor of UK culture magazine Wonderland, to settle upon the curated collection of street wear: “Need for Speed Unbound presents a real visual identity, one where players can see themselves, and their style, represented in the game,” he said. “With these partnerships, we’re blurring the lines between IRL and digital content, and my main hope is that fans adopt the freedom to express themselves through clothing, and apply some of their ‘daring’ in-game choices in real life.”
Creative director Kieran Crimmins added that he believes Need for Speed Unbound is a home for “pioneering, cutting-edge brands”. He explained: “With Need for Speed Unbound, we wanted to level-up that ethos by creating a truly authentic universe that not only represents our players, but also creates opportunities for them to interact with and experience these renowned brands in a whole new way. These partnerships are just the beginning, and we look forward to sharing details on even more partners in the weeks ahead.”
Anyone else feeling distinctively uncool in their Primark tees right now, then?

I like to think I'm somewhat down with the kids, but even I've only heard of like four of those brands. Disappointed in myself.
@LiamCroft nappapijiri jackets were big ages ago lol
Snap, only four for me too.
Now I'm seeing the potential for a Need for Speed for us oldies.
That's so fetch!
How is clothing such a focus on a racing game..With they would show more gameplay and confirm if racing wheels will have full compatibility
Do you remember when racing games partnered with car companies? Us oldies remember.
Neat, I like this exposition on different parts of the game. Also like them building on this after Heat.
I actually quite like this. Clothing in games is often rather crap so proper designers on board automatically makes it better than most. Clothing in the Skate games especially was just the cherry on top.
OK I only got 4 too.
When was FILA last relevant 2011?
New Midnight Club PLEASE!!!
what does this have to do with gaming? has the series turned into a fashion show? lol
This is fine unless said brands or future brands are behind a paywall
if you're going for the anime vibe there's a fantastic brand called UMAI who does inspired apparallel, maybe they should have worked with smaller clothing brands in that market.
Cergio gorgini?
@LiamCroft im guessing, versace, puma, fila, vans and champion.
for the rest i guess @get2sammyb let his cat on the keyboard....
It was all about PONY, Sergio Tacchini and Grolsch bottletops back in my day.
Versace isn't the brand i think of when we are talking about illegal racing but whatever.
@BeerIsAwesome Atleast they make fun of it.
How low can you go seems like it now. We get MT, seasonpasses, lootboxes and product placement, liveservice, free to pay. I feel sorry for the kids that never have seen normal complete games just games.
