We are back, baby. I can't wait for the return.
It's by From Software? Then I am in.
Guess 2023 is the year I finally get into AC.
A welcoming surprise. It's been years! Welcome back, Armored Core!
Never played an Armoured Core game so I'm going to need to see gameplay to form an opinion, but because of the pedigree I have faith.
No Bloodborne 2? FAIL!
I haven't played an Armor Core game since I think... the PS2 days? š¤
Out of everything new shown, I feel this has the most potential. I'm not hyped, but I'll be keeping my eye on this one.
What do you mean from souls developer? You make it sound like they weren't the armored core developers before now.
@Snick27 oh cmon... you get souls like games every year. Let armored core fans have this one.
Play that 3 kingdoms one coming up.
This was the best announcement for me. I've always loved this franchise and I want to see how FromSoft have evolved it. 2023 is looking so good. There are at least 2 great games coming out each month until June.
The music is fantastic in that trailer. Hope it is in the game as well.
Actually kind of disappointed in this. At the height of their powers instead of something completely new they end up retreading old ground. I'll still play it though
@Snick27 That be up to Sony...I believe..
Time to start holding the Dualsense backwards for optimal (?) control!
@GorosBat @KAIRU Same here, I'm completely new to the franchise!
Hopefully they will give a decent story recap for newbies like us.
Interested to see the reception to this, since their fanbase is a LOT bigger now than it was back in 2012 when V came out and very likely eager to play anything new they put out.
@KidBoruto
It sounds like it's a reboot, here's the story set up:
Story Overview
A mysterious new substance was discovered on the remote planet, Rubicon 3. As an energy source, this substance was expected to dramatically advance humanityās technological and communications capabilities. Instead, this substance caused a catastrophe that engulfed the planet and the surrounding stars in flames and storms, forming a Burning Star System.
Almost half a century later, the same substance resurfaced on Rubicon 3, a planet now contaminated and sealed off by the catastrophe.
Extra-terrestrial corporations and resistance groups fight over control of the substance. The player infiltrates Rubicon as an independent mercenary and finds themself in a struggle over the substance with the corporations and other factions.
I donāt like the name because when I read Rubicon all I can think of is the drink!
Never played Armored Core.
But I'm a fan of From Soft since Demon's souls.
So it's a no-brainer for me and THE most awaited release of the upcoming year.
Is the first mech, salvaging pieces, an indication itās going to include āopen worldā or āsurvivalā mechanics?
Reveal of the show for me! Been waiting for soooooo long. Looks suitably dark.
ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT! š„š
Will this be the moment where Armored Core goes āSoulsā? Ancient astronaut theorists say, YES!
@khalic Good catch there. Could be! With all the experience From has gained from the souls games, I imagine this new Armored Core may have evolved from previous entries. We shall see!
@Ear_wiG the ressource constraint would pair nicely with the ābuild your own mechā mechanics, the later beeing one of the seriesās week point. Argh canāt wait.
A new AC game also means new Gunpla (plastic model kits) from bandai, canāt wait to see that too
This and Tekken 8 for me. Thanks Banco. Now if we could get a decent AAA Gundam that would be great.
Good news for the fans of the series, for sure.
For myself however, I would have preferred a new Bloodborne
@KidBoruto Don't think they will. The games aren't all connected. I bet this will be a new continuity/world.
Mind-blowing the best one so far
Looks promising I can only say that as it wasn't a gameplay trailer but I've wanted a new mech game and these are the people to do it I believe. Loved the games too
Never played armored core but Iām in! Anything fromsoft do these days is on a different level to most.
@Pokemaniacal That one deserves one more game two I loved them both.
@Pokemaniacal ZOE we will probably never see again as that was Kojima and Konami
@LieutenantFatman @Nem Glad to hear it's a soft reboot! I look forward to checking this game out eventually.
@KidBoruto Yup. I was thinking back to it (it's been a while) and i believe all numbered AC's are new worlds (think numbered FF's or different Gundam series to keep with the theme). Only the expansions take place is the same world as the numbered title they follow. So, yes. No need to worry about past stuff.
