After Us has been announced for PS5, the new game from Piccolo Studio. You may know it as the creator of Arise: A Simple Story, which we really rather liked back in 2019. This new game looks to be in the same ballpark — a platformer with a sombre tale at its core.
In After Us, you'll play as Gaia, the spirit of life, as she explores a post-apocalyptic world where humans are no more. As you work your way through the derelict buildings and surreal landscapes, Gaia's aim is to restore life to the world, spreading plants in her wake and reviving long-gone creatures.
It looks as though there will be some threats in the form of hulking automatons and environmental hazards. Plus, there are weird oil people. It seems it might deliver some sinister tones as well as melancholic and peaceful ones.
Anyway, we're intrigued by After Us, but what do you think? Will you be playing it when it arrives in Spring next year? Tell us in the comments section below.

Looks beautiful. Am I the only one that got Gravity Rush-Vibes from seeing this trailer?
Spring next year is going to be too busy for me gaming wise. Looks nice though.
Is on my radar now. I love eerie atmospheric floaty indie games.
The Industrial Revolution and its consequences have been a disaster for the human race.
@RareFan It mainly reminded me of Solar Ash, but there is a bit of Gravity Rush there.
@ThroughTheIris56 @RareFan I honestly thought it was Gravity Rush 3 for a moment when it first played during the Game Awards, despite Japan Studio being dead.
Definitely going to keep an eye on this one, hope it turns out good!
