The premise is simple. We all vote each month for a game to play and the game with the most votes is what we play, debate and discuss. If at all possible the game should ideally be under 30hrs ish and no repeats! Unless the winning game is exceptionally short we will keep it at one game per month in order to accommodate all skill levels, play styles and life engagements. I will open voting on the 3rd Sunday of the month and will close on the final Sunday Play the game at your own pace and discuss it here! I’ll go out on a limb and say we all have at least basic access to plus? The games chosen should at least come from a pool of widely available titles to avoid people feeling pressured into making purchases. You don't have to join in every month, feel free to jump in when you feel like and if you have already played the game your input would always be welcome. You can play on any platform you like if you have the game there and/or don't have ps plus: PC, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or Commodore 64 (if available). It will be interesting to see if the experiences are different across platforms in terms of performance or features. You could even play an original version of a game if we are playing a remake! (In the past Resident Evil has been played at Halloween). Discussion and light tangents are allowed (catch ups with other users, discussions on related games and past game club games) but do please try not to derail the thread. Please use spoiler tags if you are discussing plot or key moments in the game! You do so by typing [spoiler] insert text here [ /spoiler] without the space between [ and / Below, you will find previously played games ( Post 2 ) and games on the shortlist to be voted for ( Post 3 ) As this is a fresh start we need to create a shortlist and to vote in a game to play in June, so please start submitting potential titles for contention When you vote, keep your vote simple, @ me with a short message e.g ‘My nominated game is [insert game title]’ so that It is easy to keep track of votes. I’ve started The Gardens Between and it’s really quite a good game. So far a nice chill experience, although the puzzle difficulty really ramps up in the third level, but not so difficult that I couldn’t figure it out on my own. It’s got a real addictive nature to the puzzles too. I played for about 45 minutes and shut it off to do some things around the house and I’m itching to get back to it, which is the sign of a good game.

The story, which comes across in a very subtle and artistic fashion, is very sweet so far. I’m wondering if a grand tragedy is going to happen to these pleasant and charming little kids. 😅. So far it feels very nostalgic for the innocent, imaginative, and less stressful days of childhood. Is it going to take a Disney turn and one of the kids loses a parent or dies? We’ll see. Maybe one of them will move away and it will be really sad and then they reunite when they’re older and get married and live happily ever after… 😄

@Th3solution you have no idea how close you are to working out the end 😂

There are a few levels further on that ramp the difficulty up a little in quite creative ways

Just finished The Gardens Between and the time manipulation system is actually cool. This was a soft-toned and fun way to tell a story without any narration, or voices, but going through the characters' memories for them to feel some sort of consolation. The soundtrack sticking with the part of the game whether you're rewinding or fast-forwarding was cool. I'd recommend this game for people who aren't really into complicated games. I only obtain 8 of the 18 trophies. I'll aim for Platinum during a 2nd session of the game after using one of the guides y'all linked to.

I'm not a big fan of puzzle-type games but the mechanics of this felt new, refreshing, and at times challenging to use the system for going to the next part of the stage. Great January game!

@SillyBoyJudas Yeah, the trophy situation is slightly cryptic. Most of the trophies are missable but extremely easy once you realize what they want you to do. I will say, that if you just want to mop up the trophies, you won’t necessarily have to play the entire game again and often can get to the point you need to by just playing the last level of the particular memory set, if that helps.

I was perplexed by not having a single trophy pop by the time I got to the third set of levels and so I took a peek at the trophy guide and realized I’d missed like two golds already so I started over but eventually realized I didn’t have to go all the way back to the beginning. And then once I did those first couple missables, many of the trophies unlock in the same way.
