The awkwardly named but undeniably adorable Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key has been delayed. Originally slated for a February launch, the charming JRPG will now mix things up on 24th March.
The game's producer Junzo Hosoi announced the delay, stating that "our team will take this additional time to fine-tune the final touches so that we can deliver to all of you who have been following the series for the best possible experience in this culmination of Ryza and her friends’ adventures."
The Atelier Ryza series has, to date, sold a respectable 1.3 million copies, no small feat for a niche JRPG franchise. Itself a subset of the larger Atelier series, the games set in the Ryza series follow the titular alchemist on her various journeys.
Beginning with Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout and continuing in Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, the series is more light-hearted than typical JRPG fare, but features fairly sold combat mechanics and an extremely addictive alchemy mechanic, which allows you to craft all manner of items.

I love this series. I have beat Ryza 2 in PS4, PS5, Switch and Steam Deck. They moved the release date close to Resident Evil 4 so I will have to save to buy both. I am afraid Ryza 3 will have some sort of Ultimate edition that has extra story dlc costing 100 euros like Ryza 2 though
@belmont Yeah on the website it shows an ultimate edition, it just doesn't state what it includes and how much it costs. But seeing other Gust/Koei Tecmo games, it wouldn't surprise me if it is over 100 euros even.
I only played Ryza 1 until now and want to play 2 coming year and then wait until 3 is somewhere in a sale. That's another thing with Koei games, they hardly ever go on sale
@Lavalera Ryza 2 had an 104€ ultimate digital edition that included everything, most interesting the season pass with the story dlc and, to be fair, the extra dungeons were very cool. All PS4 Ryza 2 editions gave you the PS5 one for free.
It is true that they rarely go in discounts excluding Christmas and Black Friday in PS4 but in Steam they seem to be almost always in discount. I bought the ultimate edition when I got my Steam Deck for about 60€
I’m fine with the delay because I’m only about halfway through the first one and Octopath Traveller 2 comes out the same day so now I don’t need to choose between the two and will have more time to finish the first two. Kinda have to buy this game at launch because the physical copies of the Atelier series typically don’t have many copies printed in Australia before you can only find them pre owned or on eBay.
I can wait. Still haven't played 2. I might get to beating it before this is out.
Now Koei, I can't be the only one who wants Warriors All Stars 2 featuring Ryza and Klaudia?
Been wanting to try this series out for the longest time, and finally bought the first Ryza at 50% off on the store.
Love it. It's just so relkaxing to play, no pressure, no have to grind to level etc, very laid back, relaxing game. Bought part 2 as well while the sale was still going, by the time I am done with that hopefully part 3 is on sale too lol.
I'm not interested unless they bring on English VO. Reading subtitles gets annoying when a game takes 40+ hours to beat.
I played Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout and enjoyed it immensely even though I'm not normally a fan of JRPGs. Currently waiting for a good discount on Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, preferably somewhere around $25. I may have missed a discount during the End of Year Sale, oh well.
@Thenewguy The earlier games used to have English voices, but then they stopped for whatever reason.
