Update: Patch 1.7.0 for Assassin's Creed Valhalla is available to download now. It weighs in at around 500MB on PS5. You can find the patch notes in the original article below.
Original Story: There's going to be one last patch for Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Ubisoft has confirmed. But before you start getting excited, we should point out that there are no new features in update 1.7.0. In fact, it's just bug fixes for a handful of specific gameplay and technical issues.
Perhaps a bit of a shame when you consider the kind of support that Valhalla has received in the past, but the developer did make its plans — or lack thereof — clear when it launched the game's final story update last year.
If we're being totally honest, it does feel like Valhalla has gone out with a bit of a whimper, rather than a bang. You may remember that a New Game + mode was dismissed right at the last minute, and the news did leave some fans with a sour taste following two whole years of updates.
This last patch arrives tomorrow at the time of writing, on the 21st February.

That’s a shame. I know that this game isn’t for everyone, but I loved it. It had a good run though.
I think it's more than time to put the game to rest. It's honestly gone on for too long and gotten more and more bonkers with the story each time. I will say a new game plus would have been a good idea, even if a simple one (that I would ever use it with how long the game is I'll admit, heck, it's a stretch to think I'll ever even finish this). I just want Mirage at this point.
Now I can finally start hoping for the Complete Edition to start dropping in price so that I can buy the game fully patched with all the story content for a reasonable price. Hopefully shouldn't take long now for the price to hit $20 which is my sweet spot for any Ubisoft open-world icon-clearing effort.
Thank goodness. This game was so mediocre.
Origins > Odyssey > Valhalla
Nothing > AC Valhalla
Those that liked the game have had a blast
@Bentleyma I love it too, it's just Ubisoft's track record of repeating mechanics across its many releases makes everyone think their games are average by default. If Valhalla released in 2017, critics would be singing it's the best AC ever blah blah.
I really enjoy the game but I am gutted they haven't addressed the massive audio issues the game has, making it feel a bit abandoned and mediocre, like they tried to bite off way more than they could chew.
Certain main story questlines have it worse than others but when conversations get interrupted by themselves after a stutter, it's not exactly a great state to leave the game in. (Plus the amount of times I've felt absolute silence has dominated the game, only to be blasted in the ears by a single sound clip of someone chopping a limb off.)
I barely even hear the sound track, even after turning the sfx way down and the music way up in the settings.
It's weird. I put in over 400 hours to Valhalla, yet it was always a case of play a little, leave for another game, come back and play a littke, come back.
When I played all past AC's I played them to completion before putting them down. I was into the loop.
Something about Valhalla left me...empty. Probably the Valhalla and supernatural stories. I guess. Those were always a bit dumb to me.
Even the combat though....something is missing in the feel I can't put my finger on.
Yet I did keep coming back.
YetI have no memories of even one great moment.
There's some weird disconnect between me and this game, despite my love of all the past games in the series, flaws and all.
Still, no one can complain about the amount of free content they provided!
Here's to AC bouncing back at my own involvement next go around!
@Spotter Are you sure there isn't something wrong with your speakers?
I had to turn the music down for being too loud over the rest of the game.
I enjoyed this game quite a bit, but around 2/3´s of the Ragnarok DLC I though I had enough and never came back.
@burning_as_souls huh! Even with headphones on, I barely hear the music on ps4... It's weird, because every other game sounds fantastic by default.
Still, I know I'm not the only one with the dialogue stuttering issue - it's been happening to my partner on her console, too.
Actually be surprised because I am still playing ac valhalla and right now also just started forespoken
The HDR is brokering forever I guess
@extragood Same plan here normally, but I caved in and bought thew standard edition for $20 last year.
Hopefully just the Season Pass will drop to $15 New or cheaper eventually (and also the Dawn of Ragnarok expansion too).
@KidBoruto How have you been enjoying the game so far? I read a lot of opinions mentioning that the base game is massive and the DLCs add so much content that it burned some people out on the game so I think I will play it in short sessions.
@extragood I only bought Valhalla, still catching up on the AC series. I started playing AC3 around September 2022, then got distracted by other games.
I should be returning to AC3 this weekend, if all goes according to plan.
@Jaz007 I 100% agree with you. This game strayed so hard from the path of assissens creed.. Pretty much you played a creed lacky. It's like the new starwars trilogy were Ray had no jedi training and had all the abilities of a jedi throwed at her. This game had way to much money and man hours spent. For what was put into this they could have made a mmo or atleast 2 other creed games that would have done been out.
