Sony has officially announced its update for PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium, adding another slate of PS5, PS4, and classic games to the upper tiers. We had a few of the games leak beforehand, but we now know the full rundown of software joining the service next week. It looks like this:
PS Plus Extra: February 2023
- Horizon Forbidden West (PS5, PS4)
- The Quarry (PS5, PS4)
- Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (PS4)
- Outriders (PS5, PS4)
- Scarlet Nexus (PS5, PS4)
- Borderlands 3 (PS5, PS4)
- Tekken 7 (PS4)
- Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown (PS4)
- Earth Defense Force 5 (PS4)
- Oninaki (PS4)
- Lost Sphear (PS4)
- I Am Setsuna (PS4)
- The Forgotten City (PS5, PS4)
PS Plus Premium: February 2023
- The Legend of Dragoon (PS1)
- Wild Arms 2 (PS1)
- Harvest Moon: Back To Nature (PS1)
- Destroy All Humans! (PS4)
Obviously, the main attraction this month is Horizon Forbidden West, the cracking open world action RPG that takes Aloy on a grand journey to find even more answers. We gave it a big fat 9/10 in our review, calling it a "huge improvement on its predecessor".
Other highlights include The Quarry, an Until Dawn-esque horror adventure; Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, the game that brought Capcom's franchise back to its survival horror roots; and Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, a super fun air combat game with some excellent PSVR missions. PlayStation fans will also be pleased to see retro titles like The Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms 2 finally join the classics collection.
All the above games will be available on their respective tiers starting Tuesday, 21st February 2023. What do you think of this game catalogue update? As always, give us your thoughts in the comments section below.

If true then that is an absolute stellar line up already. Probably putting HFW in the service to boost the DLC sales when it comes out in a couple of months.
This looks promising!
Big if true. EA puts their own releases on EA Access 1 year after the release day, good if Sony matches that. Hoping for TLoU Part 1 in September.
I think this is the first time I already own every game on offer.😄
That's a stellar lineup though. Scarlet Nexus in particular I have a strong connection to. It was my first PS5 game!
Damn didn't expect scarlet nexus and forbidden west to come this early on ps plus, thats massive
I already have Forbidden West and Scarlet Nexus (both excellent) and don't have much interest in the other 2 (RE7 was also on the Collection but it was only the PS4 version) but can't deny this is a very strong lineup.
Also, there's always more than the headliners, so I'm looking forward to the announcement.
I knew if I didn't play HFW that I paid for because of the dreaded bundle it'd be on the extra service soon enough 😂
It is about time some new exclusive stuff is added though. I just always assumed it'd be Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart first 😱
Forbidden West?!?! God damn, that makes Extra worth it for the entire year imo
@Ravix I wouldn't be surprised if games Ratchet and Clank, Dreams and Sackboy Big Adventure get added this year.
@Ravix Yea i got it as part of the bundle as I had to… not touched it yet. Whoops!
What a great selection, alas one has already completed all of them.
That's a stellar list. At the same time, when games are THAT good it far more likely you have played them or passed on them. Scarlet Nexus would be good for me though.
dammit I own all of these (RE7 via PS Plus collection, all the others outright)
I mean admittedly I only own Borderlands 3 on PC, but that's where I prefer to play FPS games anyway
It is a great lineup but I’ll be slightly annoyed if HFW is added on so early if I’m honest, why spend £70 on a game for it be added a year later to ps plus? If I had known that, I may have held off buying it on release. Ratchet would make more sense I think, it came out in 2021.
Somewhat wondering if it is worth getting God of War: Ragnorok now, is it just going to be added later this year or something? I don’t know: these services are a little frustrating at times.
That's waaaaaay too good. Doesn't make much sense, but if true, I'll take it anyway.
That is BIG. I have been holding off on both Scarlet Nexus and HFW. Can't believe I will be able to play HFW paying less for 1 year subscription than what the game actually costs.
@add286 I don't think that you realize just how long a year actually is.
365 days are more than enough for exclusivity periods. Let the game get ported to PC and added to subscription services.
@add286 Returnal was released on the service, and the game had just barely scratched past the 1-year mark.
@add286 I mean "why spend £70 on a game at all if you're happy to wait a year to play it" is a better question. I managed to pick up HFW for £25 in December, without any real trickery, I just waited until it was dirt cheap at Asda.
For that price, I couldn't care less if it releases on Premium/Extra a few months later. My backlog is plenty big enough as it is, it's nice to have the option to play it if I don't renew my subscription this December and haven't finished it yet
I know 365 days is a long time but it makes me question whether I should just wait in future. It is the lack of transparency about it that makes it slightly dodgy. Sony are unpredictable and haven’t articulated to consumers what they are planning with first party games: now it is a year (and some games get missed entirely). It adds a risk to buying any new game, and these games are £70 - that’s a lot of money right now to folk.
Wow, that’s a nice lineup. One year for a flagship first party game? It made a little more sense for Returnal, Demon’s Souls, and Death Stranding DC, etc. but I’m surprised we’ve not have other first party tittles instead like others have said — R&C, Sackboy, Uncharted Legacy of Thieves, Dreams, TLoU2, etc. In fact, it’s surprising they haven’t included older games like The Order 1886, The Nathan Drake Collection, etc. Perhaps this is an attempt to make a splash for new subscribers.
@danlk1ng well you are not me and I am not you. I spend a small amount on new games personally over a year - I could do a lot with £70 - I loved HFW but as I say, like I would have waited if I had known it is coming out on PS Plus, and I may do the same with all their exclusive games.
I already have all these games apart from scarlet Nexus, I'm pleased with that because I was on the fence about that game for a while, looking forward to it 👌👌
But yes, where is the rest of the games? The list is usually longer?
@UltimateOtaku91 I'm waiting for sackboy to join extra, I haven't pulled the trigger on that one for a while, I know it's best being patient for it.
Horizon Forbidden West would be a huge surprise, just roughly one year after launch. I already have it, my 1st PS5 full game, but Borderlands 3 I really want!! A great series, played the Handsome Collection for countless hours!!
My brain read that as Horizon: Zero Dawn because I thought there is no way in hell they'd be dropping Forbidden West at this point... If that is true that is pretty insane and hopefully a good sign of things to come. They might be wanting to get a bigger user base in time for the DLC in April.
I have all the games listed but Horizon alone makes it an insanely good month.
Yes! Was already anticipating SN would end up on Plus eventually so I didn’t buy it.
RE:7 on the other hand would be the same cheap trick once again.
@add286 and this is precisely why they don't tell you in advance what they're putting on PS Plus for the next year or so
personally I don't think it makes a massive difference whether it's coming to PS Plus or not - it coming to PS Plus was never guaranteed, but the fact that a physical copy would be attainable for more than 50% off within a year of release was pretty certain, that's just how physical sales work, so IMO if you're willing to wait for it to be cheap/on PS Plus, it's always worth waiting. The only game I've bought at launch in recent years was Elden Ring, and I wouldn't have done otherwise even if it went to PS Plus within 3 months of release - playing it in the launch window just felt special and communal in a way that very few games do.
But you're right - you're you, not me. You're very free to do and think differently to what I do. If I come across as judgemental, I don't mean it - it's just personally, this is how I rationalise my game purchases and deal with owning stuff that goes on subscription services
@UltimateOtaku91 and eventually TLoU part 1 as well. I'm just surprised HFW comes before Rift Apart, maybe that still sells to new owners and HFW has slumped a bit more.
This is what makes Extra fantastic value and a real draw to new gamers though, and new PlayStation owners. And the catalogue is utterly brilliant if there's even just a few AAA or exclusive games you've missed out on in a certain year 😁
@jrt87 I doubt you're the only one, but I could never do that. "I'll complete this game within a month" is a promise I could make to myself, but wouldn't necessarily be able to deliver , in most cases I'd get distracted by either something else in my backlog, or some game that's just come to PS Plus. I tend to just buy what I want when it's dirt cheap, except in extremely rare cases where I'll buy a game at launch
I actually ended up buying TLOU part 2 for the cheap price of £15, only played an hour of it, then ended up re-buying it for £8 digital and gave the physical copy to a friend who hadn't played it yet
@add286 I bought Hogwarts Digital Deluxe for £75 even though chances are in a few months it will be £50 or something. Buying a game at launch is nearly always the worst deal money wise but its the cost you pay to play it straight away. Maybe if it bothers you so much don't buy games anymore and just live off Plus and Gamepass, between them you will sooner or later get access to nearly every game throughout the gen.
Absolutely zero interest in playing any of these, but I'm over the moon for everyone who is excited by this selection.
Something decent for Premium now, please?
@K1LLEGAL yep haha. For me it's the curse of being a slow gamer. I just immerse myself in one game at a time mostly, and take ages to play it. And this means some games get relegated to "I'll play that at some point"
I've already had my value from extra at least, so I'm not that bothered overall. I just wish the bundle was actual physical copies, as I could have sold it to someone who wanted to play the game right away 😆
My backlog is getting impressive though 😬😬
Never bother with HFW as I wasn't a huge fan HZD. Will probably give it a try now though, same with Scarlet Nexus.
Cracking line up by the looks of it though
My wife bought me horizon forbidden west the other week ffs🙄...
If game pass has proven anything to me, I don’t care if games launch day and date with the service, I’m still going to buy the game. I much prefer actual ownership over my library because all subscriptions do to me is try 100s of games and not actually finish anything. When I outright buy a game I’m kind of beholden to the purchase and am wayyy more likely to beat or even platinum the majority of my games. I see all these people on game pass and now ps plus extra stop buying games and let the service dictate what they’re going to play. Great service to save money though 🤷♂️
@danlk1ng Yeah but this is problem though isn’t it? Like fans just defend these company through anything (not you at all). And actually, I think transparency is important. Where I think it is a bit dodgy personally because in comparison to gamepass or even Nintendo online, it’s very straightforward- you can plan to purchase a product or not but at least you are doing so knowing full well if that game is going to be added to some type of service (or not). That is not the case with PS Plus at all - it is a mystery box, which suits Sony. And considering they raised prices to £70, which was already egregious as it is - that lack of transparency is something I find problematic. And why I’ll stop buying their games if that’s how they want to play it.
I don’t have a physical PS5: and because of stock constraints I couldn’t get the disc-based one so again: it’s not relevant to me if it is cheaper elsewhere (and even then, the cheapest option would be to wait for PS Plus).
@WallyWest same here, I never buy new games but I loved HZD and made the exception. I’m a patient gamer all the way but it’s a little cheeky from Sony I think overall.
@Korgon I own 3 and played Scarlett Nexus through Gamepass, so whilst it's a great lineup, there's nothing for me
Thats a great month if true. So good I’ve already played them 🤓
@add286 yeah, for digital edition owners it kind of sucks. My PC is completely without a disc drive, but the vast majority of PCs (built within the last half decade, at least) are these days, and the PC market handles it better. Even for a specific platform like steam, there are a whole bunch of different places to buy Steam keys, so you're not beholden to the prices that Steam dictates like you are with PS. Not that the discounts on Steam games are as good as you can get on physical console games - but that's the benefit of buying physical stock that takes up space, which retailers want to clear up
Played or own all but scarlet nexus. I'm looking forward to that one.
Interesting line up. I just redownloaded Forbidden West to my PS5 last night. For some reason I thought about playing it again even though I couldn't get into it
Thinking about it logically I suppose they are also are drumming up interest for both Horizon: Call of the Mountain, and Horizon: Burning Shores (DLC in April) by releasing Forbidden West ahead of older first party games like Sackboy and Ratchet.
Ind of surprised that horizon forbidden West is being added before sackboy and ratchet
@Th3solution yeah I agree all of the old PS4 exclusives should be on there by now.
So does anyone think we'll get ghostwie Tokyo next month? I think that's when the exclusivity deal ends.
Delighted with this to be honest - I got plat on HFW and re-sold my physical copy soon after to make back most of my money. Knew I wouldn't play it again until the DLC and that it would be coming to PS Plus at some point.
If this leak is true then I think I nailed it
I was hoping for ghostwire since it’s been nearly a year since release and might be on gamepass soon
HFW arriving this early on PS Plus is fairly logical. PSVR2 is out in a few days, and with HFW in the hands of more people, perhaps there'd be trickle-down sales for Call of the Mountain...
@jrt87 I’m with you. I sell back games to fund my next purchase. It’s the main reason I like physical games, because of resale value and the ability to buy pre-owned or borrow and have more options for pricing competition.
But I rarely replay games. And if I do, it’s often 2-3 years later when, like you say, the games are often dirt cheap to re-buy at that point. Or they are on PS Plus 😄
But strangely, sometimes I hesitate to resell. I’ve kept my physical copy of Returnal and Demon’s Souls. I almost sold them back for around $18 a piece last week when I picked up Hogwarts, but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. They are both on PS Plus and so I have access if I want to replay them, just they were both such great experiences, so I’m considering keeping them in the collection. I don’t know. I might still sell them in the next couple months when I inevitably buy Jedi Survivor, FF16, or RE4.
Wait, wasn't the borderlands collection and RE7 already on it? I have both and never paid for either.
Meh. Good games but I already own most of them also where are the premium games? These are mostly the games being added to extra tier. Is premium only getting that Syphon Filter game?
@add286 There's a DLC coming in April for Horizon, that may explain why it was added
If HFW is one of the games, I'm done buying them, I can wait one year.
first of all, great games.
But once again, why have the premium plus? tomorrow actually I have re-subscribe and I already changed it to extra.
and personally i already own 3 of them...
still surprised last of us part 2 isnt on extra
I hope it's true, I played Forbidden west when it was released but after I sold my disc. It's not my fav game but I would play it again if it's "free"
I knew forbidden west would be on the service eventually so i decided i wont buy it
Wow that's quite the lineup.
@add286 How is it? If you buy a game at launch you aren't giving the promise of a year or two before it hits Plus. Its a been year since it was released that's more then enough time for it to be "acceptible" to hit Plus. It sounds like the issue here is you wanted it for "free" but didn't have the patience to wait for such a thing and are now sour that a year on its now on Plus.
@WallyWest because they haven’t been upfront about when the game enters into a sub. Because they are inconsistent in how they do it; lol I’m very happy with HFW, it is a great game but that’s irrelevant in many ways as I would have waited if Sony had a consistent, clearer and transparent process when it came to when games get added to a sub. Put it like this: HFW cost £70 and my PS plus costs me £5.25 per month (amazon discounted rate): basically I don’t know if that is fair on folk who buy games straight away (for whatever reason?). Yet the developers rely on people buying games early and a year is not that long in a lifetime for a triple AAA game like HFW.
Anyway, I’m not really interested in arguing so don’t bother if that is what you are after.
This would be an excellent addition.
However I’m worried about sales for Horizon, they never disclosed any sales numbers as they did with Ragnarök, the game was heavily discounted just a few months after launch and it’s now getting into PS Plus…
I fear the sales numbers for this might be way worse than we think, which is a shame as it is a really good game, can’t wait for DLC (hopefully it isn’t $29.99 as was rumored).
Scarlet nexus and FW in particular look great, been meaning to get around to both, and Resi7 if it gets upgraded to PSVR2.
Just got too much to play at the moment. It’s ridiculous.
Forbidden West alone makes it an insane month if true. Will be an immediate download
@get2sammyb Speaking of HFW, PS5 only “Burning Shores” releases in about 60 days, but no price yet. It’s not even listed w/ the “coming soon” games on the PSN store. Search can’t even find it.🤷🏻♂️
https://store.playstation.com/en-us/category/a00d4d61-f6bc-4a00-bb68-ff0bb43fcc33/1
Oh, and Burning Shores may not be a “game” but the coming soon page does have 3 dlc, for D2, Sims 4, and The Elder Scrolls Necrom, so expansions are on the coming soon page, no logical reason to exclude Burning Shores. Some June games are on the page, Diablo 4 and FFXVI. What is Sony hiding?
Do you think they’ll let you play the dlc w/ the PS++ version of the game or make you buy the game? Is it possible Sony could charge more if you bought the PS4 version of the game then upgraded for free? Say $40 vs $30 if you own PS5? They know if you paid for digital, and they probably also know what disc is in your machine. Could explain the delay.🤷🏻♂️
Too many questions for something just 60 days out the PSN store can’t find.😝
https://store.playstation.com/en-us/search/burning%20shores
Fantastic month but certain comments here never fail to surprise me. Now we have people complaining about the quality of what's being offered because they bought it a year ago at launch, that they shouldn't have supported it on release and just waited to have it given to them a year later. That is a terrible mentality to have going forward, if we all started thinking this way then eventually games like Horizon won't get made anymore.
@Ravix Rift Apart doesn't have DLC coming soon, with the possibility of increased sales if you get people who haven't jumped in yet getting hooked when they play the main game for "free."
Legend of Dragoon, leettsss gooooo
Wow, that is the best monthly additions line up so far, and that goes for any game subscription.
This is probably the best PS Plus update they've ever done to be honest.
Now that's a great month even premium is awesome.
Looks like they are finally putting some effort into premium pretty solid month
The Legend of Dragoon?!?!?
Stupidly good month. Especially for lovers of classic JRPGs! People will be losing their minds over Legend of Dragoon. The PS1 games have had quality of life functions added to them as well. Maybe Sony is starting to work on these ps1 games???
The Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms 2! Now that’s more like it.
@Intr1n5ic Says its on Extra on the PS Blog
Nice! Glad I held out this long on The Quarry
Damn! Best month yet by far. Really strengthening the service
@Bentleyma I love Wild Arms 2, it's a nostalgia game for me, plus.....i don't think it's ever been officialy released in Europe before! Xenogears next please in that case!
I am very happy with these games, there are at least 4-5 what I will play I can't complain for that yearly price I can get few games every month for free even it's a rental (price was black friday reduced).
Wow. That is one heck of a month. Thats how to win new subscribers
Did somebody say the Legend of Dragoon!?!?!? Yes please! Probably the best RPG nobody seems to have played
Holly ... that's a fantastic month and maybe Dragoon has trophies <3
I’m so happy to see Legend of Dragoon finally 😭 it’s sad though that the classics catalog is a slow addition of games, but it’s better than the slow drip Nintendo seems to be with NSO.
Absolutely amazing month 👍👍👍
WTF! What are you trying to do to me! So many great games in the same month as a new hardware launch. I need sleep you know!
@__Seraph I don't think it is but I hope I'm wrong because that would be amazing for a bigger percentage of people. The initial leak I saw showed Horizon as premium only. I'm still unclear from the blog as it doesn't exactly specify but I'll edit my previous post anyway in case it influences anyones sub.
quarry, outriders and legend of dragoon are the ones im interested in
Wow. PS+ has been amazing lately. That's a great selection!
@Quintumply Heads up - the blog only mentions the PS4 version of Resi 7, which is honestly disappointing
@jrt87
I generally don’t even do this. I’m so far behind I often get them second hand and then trade them when finished, so I rarely spend more than £10 on a game.
Apart from VR, which are not easy to find physically, plus I want to support the VR market.
Again, how ridiculously good is this month?!
Another killer month for Extra. The games this month alone that I don't already have and am interested pay for the subscription.
Amazing month!
RE7 is PS4 version only? It says so on PS blog! Has that been on both Ps plus monthly game and ps5 collection as well?
Back to Nature!!!
That's a great list.
@Voltan Updated the article, thanks
Have most of what I wanted to play already but it is indeed a great list for those that don’t. Despite the mediocre reviews, I’m looking forward to trying out Oninaki.
Good lord I have like all of these, I'mma just stop buying games ffs.
Legend of Dragoon!!!
And once again I am rewarded for holding off buying The Quarry on a sale. Patience is a great virtue my friends.
Extra is amazing.
I'll be playing Scarlet Nexus and The Quarry among others.
Cool. The legend of dragoon n.i.c.e. and scarlet nexus is 2 excellent games.word up son
Biggest game on list is Legend of dragoon.
Might get premium for that since have lost my ps1 and lots of games many years ago.
The Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms 2! Finally something good from Premium
That's a GREAT list. So much I want to play. But for anyone who didn't please give The Forgotten City a go. It's a is a narrative-driven adventure based around a time loop in ancient Rome. It was originally a Skyrim mod, but this is the full game, and it's uniquely brilliant.
I've nearly bought Ace Combat 7 so many damn times. Almost more excited about finally getting to play that than all the other amazing games on there.
Really something for everyone this month.
@rjejr Every other game on the PS+ Extra service you can buy DLC for so I don't see why H:FW would be any different. Shouldn't need a FAQ for that.
It's exactly what I will be doing as I sold my copy, for almost what I paid for it, once I had the platinum.
A great month. Where will I find the time!
@TheTSTGuy The Legend of Dragoon!!!!!!!!!!!
What an amazing month!!!!
@KaijuKaiser The vast majority of these games are ancient. The only people making money off these is second hand shops. Get rid of them for free and sell the DLC. It's good business.
Hopefully I can download The Legend of Dragoon for free without a Premium membership cause I have the PS1 Classic on PS3. It's worked so far for Wild Arms, Hot Shots Golf 2, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, and Syphon Filter 1,2. Fingers crossed
Great additions overall, but doesn't The Forgotten City have a PS5 version?
That is a stellar lineup! I own half of that list, while I want to play the other half.
Holy crap is it finally happening? Legend of dragoon on ps5!? Completely free since I own it on PS3 or at least that's what they promised
I know portable just got ported but please somehow get P3 FES on premium now!!
Fantastic month! Scarlet Nexus and The Quarry are the standouts for me.
@Intr1n5ic well said. Chocolate candy huhuhu HEY YOU GUYS!!!
EDF! EDF! EDF! Join the Cause!
@BeerIsAwesome not weird at all. Of all these titles I shouted up to my misses "they got ps1 Harvest Moon this month!!"
I may look at some others too... 😂
@themightyant Thanks for the update. It would be a good reason to put it in PS++, as it now seems they have done - pay for the rental, buy the dlc. So, any idea why 2 months out the dlc isn’t on the store and doesn’t have a price?🤷🏻♂️
As for this: “I don't see why H:FW would be any different” well I don’t see why PS4 can run the game but not the dlc, not to mention the above no price and no listing, but here we are. It all seems very odd. Hopefully it’s just stupid expensive so they’re waiting until like a week before. You would think GG would want to market it a little before it releases, no?
Legend of Dragoon coming to PS Plus is wild. It's a long game, but the story is so worth it.
Ace Combat 7 cool! I hope for a PSVR2 patch.
@themightyant nah, saw the review and the trophy guide, doesn't seem to interest me much, I'm sticking to Nexus as it's a time sink anyways with other games I have to play
@Voltan I already have all of them on disc and the free ps5 upgrades already, I'm assuming that capcom will lock out upgrades for extra users no doubt
Ahhh yes Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms2 are some of my favorites which I already own on my Vita but glad they got added. I just wish they would do Legend of Legaia
Nice, 3 of these titles I was near purchasing as they are on sale. So, this is a huge plus to see on extra.
Res evil 7 and borderlands are bs inclusions, but the rest are solid.
@rjejr "So, any idea why 2 months out the dlc isn’t on the store and doesn’t have a price?" It's quite normal. Most DLC that doesn't come bundled as part of a season pass doesn't show up until release or near release. They ARE marketing it, but that doesn't neceassarily mean giving the price super early.
"Well I don’t see why PS4 can run the game but not the dlc" Because they are presumably going to be tapping into the power of the PS5 in some way AND /OR they are pushing people towards upgrading to a PS5... probably a bit of both.
@huyi No worries. At least I got you to look and consider it. If I can just get one person to play that game then my work here is done, criminally underrated and neglected imho
But that's also a perfect example of why achievements/trophies can be so bad for gaming, that you would decide to play a game partially based off a trophy list, rather that if is good. (I know you said you checked the review too) I say that as a mostly reformed achievement hunter, i've walked that walk many times.
Though in truth the list isn't actually as bad as it seems as once you know what you are doing you can get through loops VERY quickly. Around 8-10 hours for the platinum.
Enjoy Scarlet Nexus. (Edited)
Okay, this is a great month for me!
@rjejr Digital preorders going live generally goes along with a trailer or being part of an event. With Burning Shores, the last info was the initial reveal back in December. Probably a safe bet (based on previous years) that there's a State of Play in February/March that reveals more and then preorders go live after the event has finished.
I saw The Legend of Dragoon and squealed.
I cannot believe Sony actually remember that game. That is such an amazing game. Really hope it can be purchased outside of the PS+ Catalogue.
Another very solid month!!! Borderlands 3 and Ace Combat 7 are games I want for a long time. And folks who didn't played Horizon FW, get ready for an amazing experience!!
@misak192 The PS5 is free update.
@Grumblevolcano Thanks Grumble. "the last info was the initial reveal back in December" kind of goes w/ my lack of marketing for a dlc only 60 days away that isn't even in the "coming soon" section like those other 3 dlc in my link above. D2's Lightfall is really soon but Sims 4 having a spot but HFW:BS not isn't a good look in my book. I mean come on, you can't even find it using the Search feature on the store? That's hiding it on purpose, not an accident. Dereliction of duty or some such. 😝
@themightyant Thanks for the replies, even if I don't agree they do make sense. 😉
If this is their idea of "marketing" it, there hasn't been a PS article about it since Dec and here we are in mid-Feb, well then I would hate to see what they're idea of NOT marketing it is. 😂
https://www.pushsquare.com/search?q=burning+shores&submit=Go
@Grumblevolcano "Digital preorders going live"
Oh by the way, I'm not asking necessarily for a live pre-order, just an "Announced" page to add it to my wishlist. There are about 18 games w/ pages in the "Most Anticipated" section that can be added to your wishlist, but not Burning Shores.
You can click on any of the ones that say "Announced" under the title.
https://store.playstation.com/en-us/category/a7c97306-69bd-45cb-a44f-c9ffd9eaa7d3/2
We should have been able to add Burning Shoes to our wishlists since December when they announced it.
I love when planning to buy a game and it ends up in ps plus waiting for you The Quarry Also, awesome line up!
This is a great lineup. Very happy with The Quarry!
Sounds like quite a few delicious eventual followups to the stuff I've been gradually binging like on Switch (Borderlands and Resident Evil, the latter also partly on the laptop since I've come to be a big wuss for the ink ribbons in the Vita-supported originals😏) or PS4 itself (like Horizon which was once my last retail purchase on the platform for years before last month's investment in Code Vein). Assuming they'll last that long, of course - Metro Exodus, for instance, is leaving the catalogue next week and I've barely started the first game.😆 There's also other stuff like Scarlet Nexus and Ace Combat 7 I'm curious to try in the near future although the Extra sub has already filled up most of my hard drive (and PS4's mood swings about the remaining capacity don't help), so time will tell.
@rjejr It's DLC not a new game. They've announced it, had a trailer, and NEARER to release they will push it a little harder.
Are you expecting a State of Play for it?
I dont have any time to play all of these!!
Great line up none the less.
@rjejr Their marketing has been very close to Frozen Wilds so far, nothing out of the ordinary.
Frozen Wilds
Burning Shores
This is an absolutely fantastic lineup. Really impressive.
Oooh, I should get Legend of Dragoon and Wild Arms free! Loved the PS3 retro stuff.
This is an amazing month. I don’t have to use my disc for the DLC of HFW when it comes out which is a nice boon. I’ll replay the game on PS4 eventually to double platinum it. The Quarry is something I’ve almost bought on many occasions. I’ve heard good things about The Forgotten City. And the same as HFW, I can put my Scarlet Nexus disc away for my 2nd playthrough. I feel as if this has something for everyone.
Premium games are getting better. Does anyone know if Dragoon will have trophy support?! I’ve never played it but want to give it a whirl. Still wish they would put back Mass Effect trilogy from PS3 since I already have the PS4 platinum on all of them. I just want to platinum the masterpieces again. Is Wild Arms any good?? I’m willing to give it a download to test it out.
Wow! Stellar lineup...of course play Horizon and Borderlands 3 if you have not already, but also DO check out Outriders..that game is a fantastic looter shooter with tons of content!
Wow, what a month! If this was it for the year I'd be pretty happy 😅
@TommyNL I’m not going to argue or respond to abuse. Calling someone else pathetic because they don’t have the same view as you says is not appropriate, and says much more about you than ever will about me.
What about Sackboy and Rachet & Clank? I just finished HFW about a month ago as it came packaged with the PS5. Great game and in my opinion much better than the first which was also great. Those that have not bought the game and subscribed are in for a treat. Play HZD first though if you have not played it.
Awesome update, wow. I'm looking forward to many games on this list. Even might try out some of the old ps1 jrpgs. Still paying 9.99eur for premium, so this is really a steal.
@add286
Maybe my response came across as harsher than I intended. But I mean to say that you should not forget that a Horizon FW costs over 100 million euros to make. Then you cannot expect these first party titles to appear on a subscription model. For example, you could also just buy a game on offer instead of the full amount. I imagine it's a lot of money for some. But I am annoyed by comments nowadays that mean that everything should be "given away" for free or cheaply. And that's not how it works in this world. Be happy with the things you do get. Including Horizon fb on plus extra. If you already have the game (like me) I will play another game. But I'm glad that a lot of gamers can get acquainted with this game thanks to this promotion.
I hope that the inclusion of Ace Combat 7 is a sign of upcoming PSVR2 support from the franchise. Wishful thinking, maybe. But a good thought, nonetheless.
Give me a full PSVR2 Ace Combat game and, in addition to GT7, I'm set for life.
@jrt87 i do it also GOWR 63/65 new, got 52 trade in at Cex.
benefits of physical gaming.
It’s fine, we all get carried away mate (and we all do it). Oh absolutely - that’s why I was quite happy to drop £70 on a new game I really want to play. I don’t mind it being on there after a year or so on PS Plus, more I think it would good if Sony were a little more upfront so folk could make choices?
I agree: I worry that sub services are getting a little too good value and it makes a little bit of a two tier system-basically in that gamers that buy games quickly become a little disadvantaged. And it’s not great for devs either.

Stoked about Forgotten City. That’s been on my list for a while…
Since I have Wild Arms 2 on PS3, this means I'll have a new PS4 game to look forward to courtesy of cross-buy!
Resident evil 7 is already part of the ps plus collection , premiums crap again 👎🏻
@Art_Vandelay if you like your flight games, apparently Project Wingman was announced today to launch during the psvr 2 launch window. 21 mission campaign, highly praised on steam.
@CWill97
Dont know if Legend of dragoon will have trophies but you should play it anyway.
Since it is a ps1 game it might look and play alittle rough but it would still be worth to play it once.
That's a fantastic lineup. For once I'm actually most excited to see the ps plus premium games. Legend of dragoon alone is worth the price of admission, but wild arms 2 is a good add, and I used to love playing Harvest moon at my mate's. He found it boring but I loved it
Legend of dragoon definitely is the standout of this month. Also happy to see the quarry and ace combat.
Legend of Dragoon ! omg ! my favourite game of all time ! the best story I ever played since I was a kid ! it's finally here !!! omg !! so excited !!! I wish they make a remake out of it ! it's totally worth it !!!
@Grumblevolcano Nothing that happened 6 years ago pre-Covid is comparable to now. 😉 Not sure PS5 even had an online store in 2017 since the console didn't release until years later. 😂 PS5 doesn't have so much coming out that just b/c Sony neglected some DLC 6 years ago means they should also neglect it now, does it?🤷♂️
Didn't they hold out on the HZD dlc news so they could release the "Complete Edition" at the same time the DLC released? Pretty sure we bought HZD in September right before they announced the complete edition. It was a birthday gift for my kid who's birthday is mid-September, that's how I remember. So, I guess if PS5 is getting a "PS5 HFW Complete" for $70 announcement in March that would explain it. I still don't like it, but it would be the reason I was looking for. Thanks for kicking my memory into gear.
@themightyant "Are you expecting a State of Play for it?"
That wouldn't suck. Having it exist SOMEWHERE on the PS5 store would be nice, see my 2 links above, 1 for Coming Soon games and DLC, I mean come on Sims 4?

1 for "Announced" games. Even Skull & Bones has a page.

It was announced back in Dec, that's 2 months to put up a page in the PS5 store that says "Add to Wishlist". That's what I would like, I would like it to exist, b/c right not it really doesn't.
@Vovander yeah that's only 7 months from now lol, why wait that long??
@Would_you_kindly thought you'd be happy PS Plus is crap. You were complaining last week that subscriptions were unsustainable.
Damn, I pretty much have all those already!
I have the PS4 version of HFW with the PS5 upgrade, so this would be neat to avoid having to use the PS4 disc and two versions showing on my homepage, but I've just finished it and gotten the platinum, so I don't need the really!
@add286 IMO it's just not good in general. Look at the average Xbox announcement and the top rated comments are "GamePass when?" I fear that these subscriptions will lead to more frequent, but smaller and rushed games. Perhaps with additional MTX to counteract the low sub cost. No different from the Netflix model; quantity over quality. Sony already said they're committed to more live service games.
Time will tell.
I buy the games I want straight away so this service does not appeal to me. The only way it would ever appeal is if they add day one games
@Octane agreed. Imagine if Sony went full on day and date games on PS Plus - with both MS and Sony doing it, game sales would fall through the floor. And you are right, I own a series S and check out what is happening with MS, and it feels that audience is now just expecting through gamepass. And get annoyed when things don’t turn up there.
I think they need to make ownership more of a thing; e.g. if I have bought a game early and spent full price - could I get subsequent DLC at a reduced price, or even for free? They never will, people are buying a lot of games on the PS5 (lol I know this would never happen) but maybe Sony should be thinking in those terms a little if the trend to subs/cloud gaming does take-off? They stand to lose a lot if people stop buying games in future.
@Ravix perhaps because the devs still deserve to be paid for their work
Extra is great value. Even for someone like me with very little gaming time available, I have more than got my money worth just from miles morales, gotg, ff7, medievil and South Park and currently ghost of tsushima. For the more die hard enthusiast, it must be the greatest thing to have come along in a while.
@Octane time won’t tell, it already has. You’re spot on.
@Mikey856 erm, which part of the comment are you replying to? Because... Of course they do. Why would I not want the Devs to be paid???
Is it the bit where I bought HFW bundled with a console (therefore at full price) but haven't played it yet? Or the bit where I'm surprised a newer game is added (HFW) before an older one (Rift Apart)
@Ravix my bad wrong person 😝👋
@add286 Yup, I bought forbidden west last year at full price and it's somewhat galling to see it for free less than a year after release.
@Serialsid Project Wingman looks good, mate. Somehow, it seems to have flown under my radar (see what I did there?). Thanks for the tip.
@cragis0001 I didn't say ps plus was crap I said premium is crap & I didn't say subscription services are unsustainable I said Xbox game pass is unsustainable or atleast it would be if Microsoft wasn't a trillion dollar company that can continue to bankroll it
Nice, I can finally try out the below list of games!
PS5
Outriders
The Forgotten City
The Quarry
PS4
I am Setsuna
Lost Sphear
PS1
Harvest Moon: Back to Nature
The Legend of Dragoon
Wild Arms 2
@Would_you_kindly premium is still part of PS Plus though. Games Pass is a subscription service though & you were adamant its bad as it kill sales. So PS Plus services are no different as it will kill sales also.
To be fair if you look at the titles that go day 1 on Games Pass apart from Microsoft's owns titles & the odd exclusive. You'll find there mostly indie & multi platform AA & AAA so they'll be cheaper for Microsoft to compensate than say what Sony is paying for the Final Fantasy 7 remake trilogy & Final Fantasy 16 to be exclusive.
I want to know one thing will the Legend of Dragoon for sale on its own. Just make a make a new part please or remake or remaster I still own the original game.
@add286 That's exactly why they didn't tell you.
@karlhendrikse lol and that makes okay? I think we are allowed to expect more, personally.
It came to mind that with HFW appearing this month, it's likely that March's batch will have GT7.
Legend of dragoon is the highlight, probably with trophies! glad they are honoring ps1 classic purchases made so long ago, but this drip feed of 1 or 2 classics every few months is way too slow
Legend of dragoon! If Europe actually gets it this time it will be the first time since it's original release.
Man. Got my PS5 late Oct last year. Been really loving it. Haven't played my PC that much TBH. The value of the PS Plus extra is well worth the price IMO. Can't wait to play Horizon.
Might give that Quarry a blast. Would never if bought it so may as well get it for my subs.
Here's hoping those PS1 titles have trophies. If not at launch then down the line.
