Boomer Shooter Fans, Serve the God-Emperor of Mankind on PS5, PS4 in Warhammer 40K: Boltgun

As all true sons of the Emperor well know, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun is coming to PS5, and PS4; we just didn't know when. Thankfully, the Astra Telepathica have been able to divine a precise release date. Prepare to administer the Emperor's Justice on 23rd May.

Boltgun, like the high-calibre, explosive-round spewing standard-issue Space Marine weapon for which it's named, is a big, bloody, boomer shooter and will absolutely appeal to fans of that type of game. A young-adulthood misspent neck(beard)-deep in Games Workshop's fantastically deep sci-fi universe is not required; you can just be a fan of genre classics like DOOM, Quake, and Duke Nukem.

I am very intrigued. I love Warhammer 40K and play as many games in that setting as I can.

I'm a big warhammer fan but i'm a bit underwhelmed by this trailer. Sure its loud and brash but the animation looks a bit iffy and the graphics are a bit old looking now. I dont know i think i'll wait and see exactly how it turns out on the ps5 as i'm starting to get a bit bummed out with games that are still looking last gen even when they are good..

I'm rather looking forward to this, as a fan of 40K and 90s shooters, and most importantly, as an Ultramarine fan.

Looks fun, I recently enjoyed smaller old school FPS like Ion Fury more than modern shooters like that weird Russia scifi game (forgot the title).

@tameshiyaku not in the slightest. I loved space marine 40k and i really enjoyed inquisitor but this looks average at best..maybe its a diamond in the rough.

@Northern_munkey no problem. Just saying because the game is intentionally supposed to look like a 90s era shooter like quake, which wouldn't fall under last gen anyways.
Darktide or hired gun are some modern warhammer are shooters with modern graphics.

I'm not remotely knowledgeable regarding 40k universe stuff, but I thought Hired Gun was actually pretty good, the world was fun to be in. This might be a nice and fun romp, here's hoping.
