The persistent rumours of a Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake have been swirling for years, with Konami's reimagined epic purportedly out as soon as 2024. It seemed like further fuel had been thrown onto that particular conflagration over the weekend, not from a leak or data breach, but by a singer long associated with the series. However, the whole thing ended up just being a misunderstanding.
Donna Burke, a voice actress and singer involved with the Metal Gear Solid franchise since Peace Walker (providing vocals for the soulful Heaven's Divide,) got tongues wagging after she Tweeted a picture of herself re-recording what looked to be the iconic track Snake Eater from Metal Gear Solid 3.
Metal Gear super-fans were obviously excited by the prospect, and connections were made that were later discovered to be unfounded. Burke set the record straight, asserting that the recording session was just for fun, a sentiment that producer, Mason Lieberman, echoed and even poked fun at.
So while this particular episode was unrelated, it shows how hungry we all remain for the genuine article, concrete news from Konami regarding Snake's jungle adventure. What do you think of this brief diversion? Sing us a song in the comments section below.

A ''remake'' without Kojima will not be the game you are hoping for.
@LifeGirl it will be soulless
I do hope this is true and they're not remaking Snake Eater. If they're remaking one it should be the original MGS. I'm not convinced an MGS remake would actually be good but that's the one that needs it most and if it is good then it's a win.
Why are we here? Just to suffer?
Bring it on.a metal gear 3 remake would be cool.word up son
Donna Burke has done a lot of these cover songs over the last decade lol
So her claim is she was recording MGS3 dialogue just for the heck of it for herself for fun?
Somebody get that lady some water. Her pants are on fire.
I sang Never Gonna Give You Up in the shower this morning.
@johncalmc If a MGS3 remake is coming first, it is likely for testing the waters to see how much interest there is in it before proceeding with further remakes. That's just my take on if it happens.
MGS 3 remake is happening. No one has said it officially, but to many people in the know are all saying the same thing, sp its pretty much fact now.
I know the original MGS needs it more but 3 became before all of them so its only fitting that they remake it first and go in order of timeline. I guess.
I dont believe it will be soulless its already been made. A little bit of a sour taste with the kojima part but we have to move on. He has.
Ah geez I have a ps1 ,2 and a ps2 compatible ps3, id love Konami or Sony to honor past disc purchases! I could pop in mgs1 in to the PS5 and just play it there's no reason hardware software wish this couldn't happen. Il just keep my old gear when I want to play it I suppose.
