Revealed during today's somewhat middling PlayStation Showcase, Arizona Sunshine 2 is officially coming to PSVR2 later in 2023 and looks like a gore-geous alternative to the infinitely less slapstick than Resident Evil: Village.
The trademark sense of humour that put the Arizona Sunshine name on the map is back in full force, with the tone here being more Zombieland than The Walking Dead. Provided it sticks the landing and learned some lessons from the last time around, it could be a fantastic complement to the PSVR2 library.
What do you think of the reveal of Arizona Sunshine 2? Does it look like fun with a four-legged friend or not your type of thing? Let us know in the comments section below.

I am sure i will be told why i am wrong but this looked kinda dumb to me. Granted i ain’t a VR guy, but at least the Resident Evil looked good. This didn’t seem like it would hold my attention for 10 mins.
@Green-Bandit I think the trailer suffers from being a bit dumb as well as the VR curse of having to promote immersive 3D games with 2D trailers. The first game on PSVR was pretty intense. I’m generally not a fan of zombies or first person shooters, but I played the original to completion and will probably pick up the sequel just for the adrenaline rush.
@Amnesiac Makes sense, glad someone likes it. I knew it had to have a following if they gave it show time. But it just came off as goofy and i am like i ain’t spending $600 dollars to play this. That’s cool you like it tho, glad it was shown off for ya 😀
This was one of the few highlights.
Given this was a PlayStation showcase though, I was completely let down by the VR section. It was good I got a free upgrade for Beat Saber and that RE4 is the full game - but none of that was made clear in the show.
I never played the original for this but liked the look of it. Less dreary than TWDS&S1&2, and more action packed. Again though, left hoping for a port of the original (along with Astro, B&T, Wipeout etc).
Hoping for a release of the original alongside this.
@thefourfoldroot1 Yeah, Sony fluffed most of the showcase with blinkered arrogance and lack of awareness on what Gamers really want and no update on what almost all their 1st party studios are working on (that wasn't CGI or what we already knew about).
Majority of those games were not exclusive either.
The VR section was also a massive letdown, with not enough emphasis on exclusives or anything different that's going to sell PSVR2 going forward that other systems have. RE4 looked good as did the other titles shown like this one (though not sure if it any of it was actual gameplay). Where was Astrobot? Persistence/Ace Combat/Hybrid titles or even remasters/sequels to PSVR1 games.
No HL Alyx either, but probably should give up on that one.
I love my PSVR2 and there is plenty to look forward to, you just wouldn't know it from Sony's half-arsed display.
@lolwhatno that is what I'm interested in, I'm not going to buy a psvr 2 till the end of the year at least before invest in the games and there is enough to play, big dead island fan so I will keep an eye on this one
I’m so down for this. Day 1!
I'm gutted we got nothing but shooters for the headset
@thefourfoldroot1 so the beat saber was free upgrade then, i was confused when this came on, i just thought it was a music pack for vr 1 lol. Downloading this tonight and probably get the queen music pack 😁
@TeapotBuddha Yeah fair point and i thought that also, but i was just thinking man this just don’t seem like how to push VR sales much, neither was most of what they showed in my opinion of course. But i did think the RE4 looked cool. Maybe i am just being picky cause the Last of us multiplayer game wasn’t there. I thought for sure it would be there explaining what the game is.
@Daleaf
I downloaded it, but I’m hearing the update messed up tracking on all platforms somehow, so might want to wait for a patch.
And I’ll definitely get the Queen pack, best rock band of all time.
@thefourfoldroot1 cheers thanks, yea might wait a bit for the patch then.
This trailer was actually rather funny and caught my interest but is it VR only? I dismissed it mostly for being in that section of the show.
@TeapotBuddha yeah that was a gut punch to me. It’s the only game on the system i really cared about for this year. Without boring you or giving you more info that you may care to know. I am not the biggest PS console user. I have owned them all from PS1-PS5, but around the time of the PS3 i disliked their controllers for my play style and became a Xbox controller fan. So all my 3rd party games for controller alone are played on Xbox. However i am not silly and know PS has some of if not the best exclusives in the industry and i look forward to those cause they justify my purchase of a PS console. Last of Us is one of my favorite IP’s. I even paid for the PS5 Part One. So to say i had a lot riding on the Multiplayer game would be understated. I am not a Marvel fan so Spider Man 2 does little for me even tho from a technical standpoint it is really impressive. I knew that would be there but i was very sure the Last of Us multiplayer would be as well. Kind of Sony’s one two punch for the holiday. Without it the show did very little to nothing for me unfortunately.
