Bend Studio, the first-party developer behind Days Gone and Syphon Filter (not to mention Bubsy 3D), is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Bend is currently hard at work on its next project (of which relatively little is known) and took to Twitter to tease it.
Perhaps we could hear more about it at the imminent PlayStation Showcase? Sony's big show purports to show off all types of games, although it might still be too soon for whatever Bend is cooking up next.
Are you excited about Sony Bend's next open-world outing? Have you played many of the studio's titles over the past couple of decades? Let us know in the comments section below.

Very curious to see what they're working on. A lot of different rumors going around from a MIB game to a action stealth game in the style of hitman mixed with mgs5. Can't wait.
"Are you excited about Sony Bend's next open-world outing? "
What makes you think the next game they do is open world? What do you know that we don't??
Im sure itl be great but a ps5 upgrade of days gone would be welcome for the time being til the new ip is ready
I can’t wait to see what they’re working on next week I love Sony bend games.
Whatever it is, I'm going to be sad it's not Day's Gone 2.
@Danloaded days gone plays pretty good already on the ps5 , especially after it had gotten a 60 fps patch.
My hype level is through the roof for the showcase. Expectations are extremely high
Hoping for a Syphon Filter reboot
I'm hyped for it. I loved Days Gone. Unpopular opinion, I enjoyed it more than God of War 2018 despite God of War being my favorite gaming franchise.
Something creative would be good.
If its open world, third person with no zombies, I'm interested.
@Americansamurai1 They are not working on a MIB game. 😂
It's a brand new open-world IP. They already confirmed this.
@TheCollector316 Hermen Hulst already confirmed that Bend Studio is working on a brand new open-world IP.
@TheCollector316 Shockingly little about most practical things But there is this:

I really hope it's something more creative than just a zombies game, ngl.
I enjoyed Uncharted GA, but I couldn't force myself to get into the dark narrative of Days Gone. We'll see what they have cooking next week, I guess.
Holy s! A full news about a tweet saying "We can’t wait to show you what’s next" 😄
Its hard to anticipate something you know nothing about. Days gone was a mixed bag for me as i found it to be a bit on the boring side. I only played it on the ps5 so by all accounts i played it in the best condition possible but i just couldnt stick with it..
I thoroughly enjoyed Days Gone. The Freaker hordes were intense, and something I’d never experienced in gaming.
@NeutronBomb it could be just under a different name, so the haters from.previous don't ***** on it before it's released
I got a feeling they’re working on this new IP and a Days Gone remaster. They know they can’t do a sequel but will want to give a little something to their fan base before their new IP comes out.
Days gone was a masterpiece..playing on ps5 was a joy...Dare to say it was more enjoyable than horizon.
@Danloaded - Days Gone already has a PS5 Upgrade Patch, I played it last year and it looked and ran much better than it did on PS4, and I only experienced one crash 40 hours in.
Probably unnecessary but If they decide to release a physical version of Days Gone on PS5, I wouldn't complain.
@zebric21 - I agree, I love both Days Gone & Horizon, but I lean more toward Days Gone, but that's mostly due to my love of zombie games, and Days Gone to me was such a great zombie game, despite what others may say.
Excellent, great studio and I loved Days Gone, shame we won't get a second for quite some time (if at all) as the story still has plenty to give.
As others have said the freaker hordes were superb, I will never forget the saw mill one, the sound of all those freakers chasing you was pretty horrible - love it.
I need to go back and finish Days Gone. I started when I got my PS5 with the 60 fps patch, but was overwhelmed with the amount of games at the time.
They better have something ready.
And it better be better than that Days Gone trashness.
These guys take forever to put one single game out and then it is not even decent of quality.
Kind of crazy Sony hasn't shut them down yet.
@Danloaded days gone was PS5 upgraded
@zebric21 a couple of comments on here are making me want to revisit it on PS5. I wasn't even aware it came with a 60fps mode...
Removed - trolling/baiting
Days Gone was a great game, especially after being patched up and boosted for PS5.
Some people may not find the character sympathetic (are we supposed to sympathise with all characters in every game? A question for another forum topic), but the tech level behind the game was very impressive I thought.
It's been 4 years since Days Gone so it's possible we might see something. I enjoyed days gone despite the negativity it got, so I'm looking forward to seeing what they've got cooking.
@Belazur never said they were just stating the rumors that are going around
I played every Suphon Filter game and enjoyed all of them and Days Gone. They are a very capable studio. Surprise me!
With ND stating they're done with Uncharted, they haven't ruled out another studio, since Bend have already done one it would be good to see them take another crack at it. Either that or a new IP would be great to see, these guys have potential to make my top 3 studios
Excited, but not nearly as excited as I'd be if they were doing a Days Gone sequel. Still bummed Sony didn't give the greenlight on it, especially with the potential sequel plotlines we were given at the end of the game
Days Gone was a top quality game, id of liked to of seen a sequel. Such a shame but it took them to long to get days gone out.
I'm excited to see what they can do with a new ip. They didn't say they wasn't at the showcase so fingers crossed
As long as there aren't zombies and the mc isn't a biker bro, it'll automatically be more interesting.
If it's a new IP, I will be happily surprised. However I wouldn't oppose a new entry in the Syphon Filter series too, even if it's a remake/reboot.
Regarding the people crying for a Days Gone sequel, it's never going to happen. The game wasn't a financial success for Sony.
Offline campaign none of this shiney fake dail it in online kak
@lacerz especially the mega herd at the sawmill - that took some doing to clear them all out.
I’m not hyped exactly but I am interested to see what they’re working on. If it was Days Gone 2 I’d be hyped.
@Mostik Yes the hordes were great fun that generated a geniune fear. Taking them on without having a clear strategy was very dangerous in my experience! It's a shame Sony didn't authorise a sequel but I will definitely check out any new game from Bend studio.
@Uromastryx Yeah. Some people, am I right? 🙄
But what if it WAS a sequel to Days Gone?
Ooh, it’s the InFamous MAG Warhawk Resistance title that everyone’s been hoping for!
If anything I hope it's not more Syphon Filter xD
@nessisonett You play a gruff American mechanic named John Travers. Life’s dealt you a very bad hand. Your girlfriend left you for an another mechanic and the Z-virus has all but eradicated the dating scene. All that’s left is your hot rod, a jar of Vaseline, and a large wasteland with bandit outpost. Question is will John be able to find his Judy before it’s too late?
As someone who doesn’t like zombie films, tv shows or games - Days Gone was my favourite game of that year.
I am hoping they’ve raised enough excitement for a sequel by saying they definitely aren’t doing one, that if they DO announce one - it’ll be amazing!!
@zebric21 I enjoyed Days Gone more than Horizon Forbidden West. Without a doubt
I want to be excited for this show case, but no doubt I will be disappointed. I expect most reveals will be your typical open world, multiplayer online crap. I want solid single player games like Deadspace all action no *****.
If it is anything but a life service game I'll support. I really enjoy Days Gone and even replay a few times.
I wouldn't be butt hurt with a sequel. They will look back at DG in 10yrs and talk about what a classic it was.
@zebric21 It was a fun game but masterpiece not even close.
Like Bluepoint I'm interested to hear what Bend are making. Depends what it is. If another open world then no if linear and some interesting themes, gameplay and so on then I'm in, if cinematic then no thanks I'm not interested at all sorry (hopefully not cinematic and something more interesting comes around but I doubt it though as only London, Media Molecule and Asobi besides whoever Sony hasn't killed off yet).
I bet everyone is looking forward to Bubsy 3D Remake.
@SuntannedDuck2 u gonna be disappointed then its a open WORLD game any games aren't open world are boring waste of £££
What if there Working on a open world space game to rival starfield
