Skull and Bones made a brief appearance at Ubisoft's E3 showcase, but sadly, it didn't deliver the news that fans are still waiting for. While the piratical adventure is still out in open waters, we did get some new gameplay — accompanied by a new song. Performed by Home Free, the song Skull and Bones is available on digital platforms now, in case you want to feel that little bit closer to actually playing this long-delayed game.
To be fair, the showing wasn't completely devoid of news — a closed beta is heading to port between 25th and 28th August, and you can register for it now on the official site. There are no details as to what's included, but if you've been waiting patiently for this one, you might as well put your name down.
Are you excited for Skull and Bones, still? Will you be blasting this banger from now to launch day? Tell us in the comments section below.

They should have sung yo ho yo ho we got nothing to show ...
You just know development is absolutely ****ed when, at your biggest showcase of the year, you cannot show gameplay for a game supposed to be in beta in under three months.
No release date either. I feel so bad for the many Singaporeans Ubisoft put through years of crunch for this.
Turns out it's called Skull and Bones because that's what we're all going to be by the time it comes out.
I think this song slapped and I don't care who knows it.👍
Probably the best thing that will come out of Skull & Bones' existence.
Alestorm performing "F'd with an anchor" would've been more fitting.
