The divisive Saints Row reboot has received yet another meaty update, as developer Volition continues to improve the sandbox title. The so-called 'Dustfaire Update' is available to download now, adding a brand new district to the game's map, while also addressing player feedback and minor bugs.
You can find the full patch notes through the link, and although there are no immediate highlights, patch 1.5 makes a lot of smaller adjustments. Quality of life enhancements, combat fixes, and AI tweaks are all part of the package. Even select story missions and side activities are being improved.
Of course, this update is dropping just ahead of Saints Row's third and final expansion, which is set to launch next week, on the 8th August. Said expansion is titled 'A Song of Ice and Dust', and will expand upon the base game's series of humorous LARPing missions.
Think you'll be jumping back into Saints Row for this update, or the DLC? Get the gang back together in the comments section below.

'Humourous LARPing missions'
Yeh id have to disagree with that, mainly because nothing in the game was humourous imo. However itll probably be better than the fast and Furious ripoff dlc which only lasted an hour at best
I picked this up for €10 a while back and have been waiting for this update before jumping in. It's a shame they didn't keep it in the oven 12 months longer to deliver a stronger title.
Me and a family member swapped a physical game to each other and this Saints Row is the one I've borrowed. Honestly was not expecting to enjoy this given all the criticisms online and all the bad reviews. Having now nearly completed it and going for the plat I have to say its genuinely a fun time, seriously no joke. Bugs are being fixed all the time to improve it. The person I swapped games with platted this SR on release so it was hardly broken. I've enjoyed my time with it enough to want to put the dlc expansion on my PS5 wishlist for a later date when it maybe comes to Plus at some point?
Once all the updates are finished I'll check it out on a sale
@Beerheadgamer82 I played the game at release (got the platinum) and felt the same. I really enjoyed it. I changed the settings so I had auto lock and lowered the enemy durability so I was pretty much one-shot killing everyone like I was John Wick. Fun game. I might pick the game up again for this dlc.
I replayed SR4 a few months back and really enjoyed it. This one’s still on my radar, just need to find the time in-between all the 200 hour action rpgs!
@Beerheadgamer82 @ItsBritneyB_tch
Same. My partner wanted to pick this up having been a fan of the series. While it was nowhere near the same as those earlier SR titles, as they were from a different time and socially acceptable place. This was one where it was trending to hate on it so it got hated on by the herd. This game got dunked on for considering a reimagining aligned with the time we currently are in along with same mechanics and design choices that other games get a pass on.
I gave it a go after she did (shortly after launch), and it was not even close to being as bad or technically broken as it was presented as being by the media and trolls. It was good dumb fun and clearly had a decent amount of time and effort put into building the world. For some mindless open world shenanigans and decent palette cleanser, this game fits that bill just fine.
It was not a bad game, just a mediocre one.
It is quite great now, and I bet this Update will make it even better.
It just got too much hate by conservative brats.
Might buy this to occupy me until next month. I bet I have fun.
@KundaliniRising333 @ItsBritneyB_tch I made my main character a gorgeous naked blonde with bunny slippers on and ankle socks running around nude with rocket launchers. Absolutely hilarious when you see your naked character design in the story cutscenes. Even made her cars pink haha with pink underglow for giggles. It's ended up feeling like a harley Quinn video game by mistake
I've started that game last month and it was pretty bugfree and i had a lot of fun with it. I even bought the dlc after i had the platinum. Kinda sad that it was review bombed on Metacritic, i dont think the game deserves all that hate.
@Beerheadgamer82 hahaha way to go
Is it good-ish yet? I bought it a while back cheap, played it a bit, and then just fell into much better games.
It definitely wasn't as bad as some people say, though, but it's hardly a great open world experience with only the classic lazy side quests like it's still on PS3
The best thing about it are my characters I designed, and I do want to get back to messing around on it with them, but the quest design seems to be just a tutorial leading to the end game, that's how it felt.
The second best thing is the bugs, so I hope it's still janky 😁 I like pulling around a corner to be met with utter carnage where the AI cars have crashed and become atomically fused within each other.
But if my main issue is quest design, I doubt they get much better than the opening few hours where you just slowly unlock activities
Probably still head back and finish it for lols at some point. I just wish it was more fleshed out since they had to dial back on some of the other stuff from the old style of gams, but volition is volition in that regards, I suppose.
In other news: THQ showcase is also August 8th if I remember rightly 😁 (although now that the overlords have done a big whoopsie it'll be interesting to see what the state of any future releases are from THQ)
SaintsRow2077. I got the platinum on this but had to play through the game twice as the first time my save game was irreparably bugged.
Fun game but so broken and buggy on release.
I'm sure it's a far more fun title now but the developer should have waited until they had a finished product prior to release. I won't be buying any more of their titles on Day 1.
Nothing will ever fix that crapfest of story and characters.
Good now maybe I can get it on sale soon. I love the Saints Row games and the 1st one was the only one I never played.
Save your time and money
I bought it on release and was very disappointed but I'm hoping this massive update will be worth going back to it.
If u haven't played it yet it's worth a go as it's cheap now
Yeah, nah.
"Hmm, is that it? Can you think of something more to say?"
This was the last game my mother ever gave me as a gift alongside Mario Strikers Battle League and Gran Turismo 7. Oh and cult of the lamb I guess. So unfortunately while I can’t control anyone else’s feelings on the game I can’t personally bring myself to speak ill of it. One day I’ll hopefully pick up all the DLC and then also hopefully get back to the game proper. Sorry y’all.
