Post-apocalyptic Australian CRPG Broken Roads is a title that's been percolating for a while now, and we got a release date trailer, but one that's sadly lacking regarding PlayStation information. The good news is that the title is still planned for the platform; the bad is that we'll have to wait a little longer to get our grasping hands on it.
Taking a page out of the Disco Elysium playbook, one of the more intriguing elements of Broken Roads is its Moral Compass mechanic, which will influence the player character's philosophical leaning and the overall story. Combat doesn't look like anything revolutionary, but it puts us in mind of the serviceable systems in the Shadowrun Trilogy of CRPGs, which got the job done. Your mileage may vary, of course, but Australia isn't a setting we see explored often enough, considering how nightmarish the wildlife already is.
Developer Drop Bear Bytes is creating a much more modest product than Larian's recently released and monstrous Baldur's Gate 3, but for those bitten by the CRPG bug, this one might be worth keeping half an eye on. That is, provided you weren't already flat out with everything else released this year, mate.
What do you think of Broken Roads? Has Baldur's Gate 3 opened your eyes to a whole new universe of roleplaying experiences, or is turn-based combat a turnoff? Do some hard yakka in the comments section below.

I cannot believe that the evil Nintendo corporation is paying developers to extend exclusivity on PlayStation and Xbox. First they paid the Baldur's Gate devs 100 billion dollars to keep it off Xbox for two minutes, and now they're paying Drop Bear Bytes to keep their game off PlayStation for a full moon for trillions of dollars? Unbelievable smh my head.
this is probably a given but this is a jokeAh maaan. I’m really looking forward to this, but to be fair not like I can’t wait. Still 6 more BG3 playthroughs to go.
Post-apocalyptic? Looks just like everyday Australia to me...

When I saw the headline I was really excited. Now? Well someday....
Odd to announce this now when there is no PS version to speak about. Good snag for XBox and Nintendo though.
I'm not sure why suggesting that colonialism was bad for Australia was an inappropriate comment? Feedback would be useful so I know what to avoid in the future?
I've been following this game for over a year! Very much looking forward to its PS release!
