We were unfortunately a little slow with our Fate/Samurai Remnant PS5 review, so we'll take this opportunity to reiterate that it's a really good action RPG — and it's about to get even better. Post-launch support in the form of a DLC pass (which will bring additional playable characters in the future) and free content updates was confirmed before the title released, and now we're starting to learn more about what's in store.
We don't have a date for it yet, but a fairly significant patch has been announced. The update will add a new 'battle mode' to the game's existing battle recollections — a system that lets players replay key story encounters that they've already beaten. You'll be able to fight as a wider range of playable heroes in this new mode, which should add some welcome spice to the whole thing.
On top of that, the game's getting two new difficulty options. Currently, there are just three settings — easy, normal, and hard — but the upcoming patch promises very easy and very hard. The latter will even prohibit immediate retries upon a game over, and forbids the use of items in battle. Fate/Samurai Remnant can already be tricky at times, but we're sure more seasoned players will jump at the chance of an even greater challenge.

I must admit, now that I've had a bit more time to reflect on Fate/Samurai Remnant after reviewing it, I've realised it's probably one of my personal favourites of the year. Which is crazy considering how great 2023 has been for games.
I for one welcome more content and the eventual DLC.
Isn't this the one everyone was calling bland and generic before release? Lol
Gotta love Omega Force.
Sad to see this one has largely flown under the radar. I've seen virtually nothing about this anywhere but here. I'll have to see if I have the funds to get it sometime soon, I like supporting smaller games like this.
I've finally gotten around to start playing it now
glad I went outta my way to get it physical since it was only digital in my country.
glad to hear about the added DLC
