RoboCop: Rogue City begins restoring order with brutal efficiency from 2nd November on PS5, and the more of this one we see, the more inclined we are to comply as directed. Publisher Nacon released an informative trailer, telling us everything we needed to know about the game in slightly more than 60 seconds.
Taking place after the seminal events of 1990's RoboCop 2, Rogue City (which is more of an RPG than you might think) has players putting on the armoured greaves of Alex Murphy, the cyborg law-enforcement machine better known as RoboCop. Portrayed by Peter Weller, star of the original two films and accompanied by Anne Lewis, Murphy's partner, this one seems faithful and incredibly nostalgic, especially for 90s kids.

How are you feeling about RoboCop: Rogue City? Will you follow the directives given and return to the mean streets of Old Detroit? Drop your favourite quotes in the comments section below.

I'll buy that for a dollar... but it'll probably cost a 'bit' more
I’m really looking forward to this. Terminator Resistance was better than all the reviews made it out to be and this looks like it’s going to as good, if not better than that.
Yes. I hope they include all the messed up commercials and stuff ❤️
I was going to pass this one up, as FPS isn't my thing anymore (running & gunning just isn't fun for me anymore), but I might reconsider after having seen this. May stick it on the wishlist and wait for a sale.
@FuriousMachine I very much liked the demo. Feels more like a free roaming light gun game.
I feel you’d have to be a super fan to have a lot of hype for this one.. seeing as this movie came out in ‘87 (2 years before I was born) and I’ve only seen clips of it on commercial TV, it just doesn’t fit the bill for me.. but if I WERE a super fan, I’d be all sh#%s and giggles right now.. I hope it’s what everyone always wanted
Bought day one I Wana run over acid man 🤣
Can't wait loved watching this back in the day!
Huge fan of the movie and this looks very loyal to that, so it's instantly promoted to the "very interested" category.
A definite wait for a sale game for me. Maybe a PS5 demo might change my mind. Are we going to get one?
@Worlock_ed Cool! Wasn't aware that it had a demo, will give it a go to see how the shooting feels (which is make or break for me). Thanks for the tip!
Having played the demo, there isn't a game for the rest of the year I'm looking forward to playing as much as this
@FuriousMachine I think the demo has already been taken down sadly, I noticed yesterday on my Steam library that the play button had been replaced by purchase
Got it preordered on Steam, its £30 cheaper and I will get better graphics and frame rates to be fair.
@FuriousMachine The shooting is the most satisfying shooting in a game in years. It made me instantly preorder it.
The game looks and feels great and they've nailed the tone of robocop but It's running on the ue5 engine. Lords of the fallen to use a recent example is ue5 as well and has some performance issues. I'd wait for the digital foundry verdict before pulling the trigger on the ps5 version.
@Bentleyma Me too. I really liked Terminator Resistance and can't wait for this.
Dead or alive that game is coming with me! Looks excellent, good preview reviews, loved the 1st 2 films and enjoyed Terminator Resistance from the same devs, so got it pre—ordered.
I'm really hoping there's some sort of performance mode with this. I've heard about it being a bit of a nightmare to run smoothly unless you have a beefy rig. Worries me that the console version might not hit 60fps.
It’s on my radar for sure, but too many other games to play right now…especially from tomorrow 😉
It'll definitely be purchased!
I got the "special" edition for only £35 over at CDKeys, I wanted it on the PS5 but I can't argue with those prices so I got that Steam version.
Hopefully it actually runs well on PC, my PC is more powerful than a Series X yet the new Forza runs like donkey at the moment, so who knows.
I am wetting myself but trying to hold back my excitement just in case, could be my game of the year.
Played the demo for 3 hours on steam deck. Bonkers the demo was so large. Plenty to do and investigate. You can give parking tickets and look into random crimes. It’s great. Have order a steam key already and will 100% play on ps5 too. As it works so well on steam deck I will finish it on that first.
Was 12 when the original film came along and other than Robocop Vs Terminator, the majority of games have been awful, so very excited for this...
Even if this turns out to be really buggy, remember...
"They'll fix you ... they fix(ed) everything"
Definitely skipping... It's a 3rd party title. Black Friday is around the corner, you never buy a 3rd party title for full price and never this close to the biggest sales holiday of the year. Only games worth full price this year are Spider-Man 2, Mario Wonder, and Mario RPG. Everything else can wait.
@FuriousMachine Good news for you: Robo Cop will be gunning, but he won’t be running! 😃
@WolfyTn I saw the first movie when I was a kid. That flic was brutal. Not super excited for the game but I am intrigued. You should try watching the original movie.
Looks bang average. The trailer is really weak - who signed off that VO?! About as exciting as watching the films with your friend back to back, but you're the one facing away from the TV.
Must be a fun ride. But man games arent cheap these days. i cant justify a hundred canadian dollars for this.
This looks like the exact kind of title I’ll pick up when it’s on sale and I don’t have much else to play
@BoomBoomBrucey the new Forza is so poorly optimised on PC, this ran great on mine at 1440p max settings between 80 and 100fps
@Stocksy Runs well on Steam Deck? Did you play the same demo I did?
I turned down the graphics settings as low as they could go, and I still couldn’t get a consistent framerate. And, of course, it didn’t look very good because of that. And it hard-locked my Deck twice.
Despite all of that, I still got a good enough impression of the game to know that I’m probably gonna like it. I’m still not sure if having the slow-moving RoboCop run around the streets doing sidequests is a good idea (why doesn’t he get back in his car? 😅), but the combat was awesome, and that’s what I care the most about when it comes to RoboCop. I’m such a fan, I will put up with the extra fluff to get to the stuff I like. And it’s gonna be hard to stick to my policy of not buying games at launch, to wait for patches and discounts.
But I’m definitely getting it on PS5. It might still be an unoptimized, buggy mess — even after patches — but it’s got to run better than it did on Steam Deck.
Since RoboCop is my favorite film and it's been 30 years since a good RoboCop game (1993's RoboCop vs The Terminator), I'm VERY excited for this one. Even more so than Spider-Man 2, which I'm also pretty hyped for. Instant pre-order for me. I'll buy that for a (lot more than) a dollar!
@atthegates I don't know about how it'll be on my PS5, but John from DF LOVED the PC demo. He raved about it on the Sunday's weekly video. Hopefully the full game is optimized well across all platforms.
@WolfyTn I am officially "all sh#%s and giggles right now." 😆
@KeldorTheCursed Yeah i saw John from DF gushing about the steam demo. He doesn't have any worries as he's stated he'll be playing it on pc. I am a bit worried about the ps5 version. The engine hasn't been used in many console games yet and is very intensive to run. I'd say 60fps at a high resolution is off the table.
@atthegates yeah, I hope it runs well on consoles. Still, I'm excited either way. Playing in 30fps would be rough at this point, but if it's the only way I can play it, I'll take it.
All I need to know is do I get to kill Clarence Bodiker 😜
The PC demo sold me on it, Which is something I never expected to ever say about a Teyon game.
@Fester Since it takes place after the second movie (a fact mentioned in the video and first sentence of paragraph 2), I would say Clarence is still long dead. 😉
If the reviews are good I may buy out of respect for a decent effort at a robo cop game. I mean if this is what a developer can do with probably a small budget, then give them more money to invest and let's see their potential.
It does look good though.
@WolfyTn If you've not seen the movie, I highly recommend it, there's so much in it that worryingly rings true today!
I'm very much looking forward to slamming on Silver Bullet and stomping over OCP..!
Your move creep.
@atthegates not to be “that guy” lol but Remnant 2 and Immortals both ran on UE5, and having put 50 hours into Remnant 2, there were zero performance issues in that game. So hopefully they can hit that chord rather than LOTF
I looked into this earlier (after reading this) and I might actually be tempted. Shooters really aren't my thing, but maybe this is the exception?
Although I saw some gameplay footage and the lipsync is atrocious, which will annoy me no end...
Will wait for reviews, but previews have been surprisingly positive for this. Love me some Robocop, and it sounds like they may have captured the satire of the first film, and made Robocop feel like a tank.
Anyone know if this first person only?
It's like half the price on Steam lol, why the hell is it so expensive on PS store????
Had never heard of this. If they manage great shooting mechanics and RPG elements in a balanced way, I’ll give it a go!
@MasterChiefWiggum The satire that many people seemed to have missed completely!! 🙄
@WolfyTn I would totally recommend watching the 1st film, at least. Super silly, over the top, (still somewhat relevant!) satire, that actually still stands as a pretty decent film. A classic for a reason!
