Final Fantasy VII Rebirth represents the second chapter in a trilogy, retelling the legendary story of Final Fantasy VII for a new generation. Square Enix has already proven very willing to play with players' expectations, with veterans and new fans alike in the dark on this one. We got a new trailer today, catching pundits up on the story so far, and it's narrated by none other than Red XIII himself.
The recap is quite comprehensive and will be available via the game's main menu if you'd rather check it out before diving in when the eagerly anticipated sequel is released on PS5 on 29th February 2024. Featuring a "dynamic" difficulty mode and taking queues from great games like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Horizon Zero Dawn, we can't wait to see where Cloud and company's quest takes them to next.

How pumped are you for Rebirth at this point? Do you think Square Enix will be bold enough to rewrite gaming history meaningfully? Let us know in the comments section below.

I can't wait, the recent interviews show they are really going to stay true to certain events in the game and add to it. This could be my GOTY for 2024.

One thing I'd like to see is the Pool table in the building in Costa Del Sol being a minigame!
Just beat OG FF7 for the first time completely blind beyond the mid game twist. Beyond hyped for rebirth.
Also @lifegirl I don’t get why the internet thinks the aerith spoiler is free real estate. Yeah the game is old but plenty of people are still being born and retroactively want to play it. That’s a huge twist just out in the open. I certainly would’ve been baffled by it if I wasn’t told before.
I'm ready for all of this it's gonna be nutz that's for sure and people aren't gonna stop talking about it look at remake it's been popular mainstream news for 3 years and hype for rebirth is insane and it'll be talked about till the 3rd part which will be talked about for years as well
@LifeGirl this is a major spoiler for those newer fans that won't care, especially since it's confirmed by the devs that the trilogy well tie in on advent children. So please be aware of spoilers for the newbies that experience this story for the first time.
Fair enough. But in my personal opinion, you would have to be raw to the franchise, the internet, meme culture, and video games in general not to know that spoiler. It is literally everywhere. The only thing more spoiled than that in the whole of fiction would be Luke Skywalker's dad.
@LifeGirl If you change that then it's better to make a new game its so important to the story.
Kudos to Red XIII’s voice actor. He really delivered on the first game and this recap really hit me!
