Choosing a vocation — or character class — in Dragon's Dogma is never easy. It ultimately comes down to preferred playstyle and the kind of synergy that you want with your most trusted pawns, but Dragon's Dogma 2 is set to make the decision even more difficult. That's because its newest gameplay trailer reveals an all-new vocation: the Warfarer.
It's a player-exclusive job that can actually switch between the weapons and abilities of other vocations. The footage shows all kinds of combinations, such as a mage-looking character whipping out a greatsword, and a versatile fighter quickly swapping between a magic bow, a blade, and then a short bow. It'll be very interesting to see what the limitations of this vocation are, because a big part of Dragon's Dogma gameplay is creating a balanced adventuring party. If the Arisen can do everything, then that concept could be cast aside.

I have been sold on this game 15 different times.
Pump it into my veins!
It seems to eliminate the need for vocations. Although tbf, this will make solo play far more fun.
@TruestoryYep The Warfarer's base stats are lower, and they have to cart around the weapons they need to use. I think if anything, it might encourage maxing out vocations to get the best skill combinations. From the PS Blog:
"the Warfarer is not an all-mighty vocation. Their basic stats are not high, and they must carry many weapons in order to use their various skills. They will require the player’s skill to exploit strengths in different situations, or else the vocation will remain a lesser version of each of the respective vocations."
My most anticipated RPG in 2024 so far.
