If you have already earned the Platinum Trophy in The Last of Us 2 on PS4, you'll be able to purchase the upgrade to the PS5 Remastered version later this week and earn yourself an instant second gong. Naughty Dog has confirmed it is an instant unlock; you just need to have your PS4 save data on the PS5 console you're using and then load your latest save to unlock it.
With that taken care of, you'll be able to focus your Trophy-unlocking efforts on the new DLC list for the No Return mode. To 100 per cent complete it, you'll need to complete all the challenges associated with each playable character, finish off a Daily Run, and do it again on Grounded difficulty. There are 13 Trophies to unlock in total, and you can view the full list by expanding the tweet below.
Are you going to buy the PS4 to PS5 upgrade purely to get the easy Platinum Trophy? Let us know in the comments below.

Easy plat that then.
I hate when they do this.
It should be its own platinum for ps5.
As tempting as it is.. I'm gonna go for a clean play through
I’ve auto-popped a couple in my time… didn’t like the feeling tbh, I’ll just play through it again.
Nice! I'll transfer my PS4 save over to the PS5 version for the easy Platinum. I'm currently playing through TLOU Part 1 on my Steam Deck to prepare for this. I'll play No Return, but I think it was a missed opportunity that online co-op isn't available for that mode...
@Bez87 It is. If you don't want an instant unlock, then don't import your save and just start fresh.
@colonelkilgore I accidentally did that for Ghost of Tsushima and Spider-Man Remastered. I felt like I cheated!
I'm happy No Return is a separate trophy list. Roguelikes don't do anything for me, so it's nice to know I can ignore it and still get the PS5 platinum for the base game.
I'm going to instant platinum, but still going to replay the game and not have to worry about collectables.
That kind of makes it pointless for me to buy and play through again 👀
I only played it again to get the plat after I finished the last of us remake sooooo......
@Bez87 Then just don't import the save data? What's the problem?
@colonelkilgore Yeah I didn't like the feeling of auto-popping when I did it to the extend that I don't do it anymore, it seems a bit pointless however some trophies are just nasty (e.g. Uncharted 4 speedrun) and in those cases I load a PS4 save after I have finished the other enjoyable trophies.....so yeah whatever I guess.
I was watching some gameplay of the new mode and I have to say that it looks more like something that was planned to be in the cancelled factions mode, perhaps a 4 player coop mode against AI like Uncharted 3 had (this is obviously SP though).
I will definitely play through this again at some point.
Why take away the trophy campaign from us? Hate auto pops. Have to deliberately avoid doing it.
I won't be buying it just for the unlock and nor will I be playing the new "rogue-like" mode. Zero interest on that stuff. I want narratives and story, not gimmicky modes.
Why in the world would this be something you want? I remember accidentally doing this for another game and was so mad it happened.
I hope the upgrade process for this is as simple as it sounds. I’m seemingly unable to upgrade Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut to the PS5 version - not much help from Sony customer support with that either.
Isnit worth going back and getting the plat for the ps4 before upgrading tho?
I think if you love the game a lot, you'd find fun doing it all over again. That aside, I dislike when games provide buffs and stuff; like Dishonored DE on PS4 coming with so many charms in the beginning to make things easy. The powered up Guardian/ Defender armor available in Monster Hunter World from the start, why ruin the fun of the grind for new players...or getting some buffs for preordering a game...this should just stop.
Lame. I wish different ports would come with different lists more often.
@InsaneWade who's putting pressure on you to trophy hunt lol?
I'm going to redo it all the long way as i'm going to replay it anyway.
@TheArt The defender armour stuff in MH is designed for new players to quickly catch up to the DLC, its not meant for normal play hence why Capcom only release it near the DLC release.
I don't like auto-popping trophies, I'd rather re-earn them. I've only ever auto-popped the trophies for Spider-Man: Miles Morales and didn't enjoy it.
@DennisReynolds So they expect to just totally skip the base game and focus on getting to Iceborne quick... Naaahh I think it's there for people who've already beat the base game to jump straight to Iceborne. Still, it's confusing to new players.
@TheArt Capcom literally say its there so people can get to Iceborne/Sunbreak quicker. Some people like getting to the Endgame as soon as and once the DLC is out there's little point in hanging around High Rank anyway, its better just to rush to Master Rank when you can then start to actually put focus into builds and such.
So a platinum it on ps4 , no longer have my ps4 save data , guess I’ll have to do it all over again .
@DennisReynolds General comments online shows it ruins the experience for new players. It's just best for existing players who start a new game and want to blast through to Iceborne. Yet Capcom sets it as default armor with no explanation.
@wildcat_kickz is that in game or on the ps5 because I did it on the ps5 but the ps4 version
@Bez87 the ps4 (original) and ps5 (remaster) versions have separate trophy lists and are treated as different games. If you want to earn a platinum the organic way for the remaster, then you just need to play it as if you never had the ps4 version. Similarly to spider-man and ghost of Tsushima, there’s an option to import your ps4 save data into your ps5 version (this is done in-game). If you do, all the trophies you earned in that save file will unlock, but if you don’t import the save, that won’t happen.
@wildcat_kickz thankyou
