Baldur's Gate 3 is an extremely generous game, allowing players to get lost for dozens, even hundreds of hours, if they like. That mountain of content is likely to grow more extensive (and stranger) before too much longer; developer Larian Studios has confirmed that cross-platform mod support is in the works, announcing the news alongside the release of its latest hotfix.
Director of Publishing Michael Douse revealed the happy news on Twitter, stating that the studio doesn't like to announce that sort of thing until it's ready but made an exception. Douse said this should make life easier for the beloved modding community, whose creations are broken each time the game is updated. It still requires testing and further work, and no timeframe was given. Still, it's an excellent addition for console players, something only seen from Bethesda and its Creation Club, employed in Skyrim and Fallout 4.
How heinous are you expecting Baldur's Gate 3 mods to get? Are you excited by the prospect of user-generated content being available in the game? Let us know in the comments section below.

What does that mean, you can use mods on consoles?
Mods? How alluring.
Could these mods potentially make the game more approachable to casual players?
Currently, the game strikes me as completely impenetrable to the uninitiated. Even on the lowest difficulty level, I get slaughtered by everything. I've made no progress whatsoever since getting off the Illithid ship.
Larian continue to be for the gamers instead of the rampant profiteers.
I need all the titty mods in my life right now
@DexTepa I am sure that modding on consoles will never be as extensive as it is on PC, but surely basic mods like 'every dice roll is a success' will make it to PS5 and make the game easy to get into for casuals.
A lot of PC gamers like to cheat similarly in souls games for example just so they don't waste as much time dying over and over again. It's one of many benefits of the platform. Not to mention the h mods as well.
So the main character from Nier Automata and Thomas the Tank Engine for everyone.
@DexTepa Once you level up a couple of times you get the opportunity to choose a ‘feat’ - if you pick ‘Alert’ for all your party, you’ll have high initiative and your party will get first turn in every fight. It really makes it easier.
@DexTepa There are certain things you have to be aware of, but once you get the foundations to build on, it becomes easier and opens up a lot. Currently playing on tactician mode, and nearly completed it for the 3rd/4th time!
For one thing- AC. It's not just armour class, it's how hard you are to hit. Be aware of proficiencies though, and ensure your team is well rounded. Don't try to spread your abilities too thin, and stick to specialising for your first run. If you use a sneaky archer, for example, always use him first to sneak and take a stealth shot at someone to initiate combat. If you use a mage, keep them far out of melee range, and only use spells with them. Don't be afraid to reat often, and use potions and scrolls if you have them- it's what they're there for.
Also, so many situations are really very open, so that you generally don't even have to fight, half the time, but if you choose to- save beforehand, and put all your people in good places first. (Separate your team, put em in good vantage spots to get 'advantage' on attacks, which increases likelihood of hitting or getting criticals). As someone said, once you hit level 5 most classes get an extra attack, but also, certain subclasses at level 3 are very handy. Ranger has hordebreaker, that let's you target 2 enemies, if they're close. Rogue has thief, which let's you use 2 bonus actions. Combine that with dual wielding, and you have 3 attacks at level 3. You can also respec later on, to suit different combat challenges.
As someone else said, I think if you're really struggling at that point, you're likely doing something wrong- so maybe just fiddle around with your party and maybe you'll figure it out!
Good to hear.
It reminds me of having mods on UT3 on PS3, good times!
I love the variety of mods available on Skyrim although I’ve never gotten or used any of them.
Would definitely love to play Skybilivon but the developer of it doesn’t have any plans to bring to the console versions of creation club.
I have still yet to get this game never have enough money for it and never have enough storage space for it either.
Do the mods lock out trophies like they appear so for Skyrim and Fallout 4?
