It's looking incredibly likely that Square Enix will drop a demo for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth next week. There are multiple factors to this educated guesswork at the time of writing: Square Enix loves releasing demos even for its biggest games, Rebirth is getting its own State of Play on the 6th February, and now, the ever-reliable PlayStation Game Size says there's evidence of the supposed demo on Sony's servers.
The informative Twitter account also points out that players will receive 'Kupo Charm - Survival Set' for giving the demo a shot, and it's possible that there'll be some kind of save transfer. We don't know if this means that the demo will cover the game's prologue and you'll be able to carry your progress over to the full release, or whether it's just highlighting the ability to unlock in-game rewards.
In any case, it sounds like it's happening. Will you be trying the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth demo if it really does launch next week? Are you looking forward to the finished game on the 29th February? Start equipping that materia in the comments section below.

I dont think this is a surprise to anyone. Lol
Square Enix is bound and determined to sale this game. I'm 100% sold and buying day one, but it's still kinda funny.
I don’t even want a demo so close to release.
Well I’ll probably grab it if there’s some in game rewards.
I’m still hoping we’re going to get the next Yoko Taro game announcement next week… hey… lemme dream! Haha
Yes, Im glad that Square Enix is still continuing the trend for demos. Would be real nice if all devs did it.
I’m excited to get a little preview. I’m a bit of a die-hard for FFVII, so I’ll buy it even if it’s terrible, but it looks great and I’ll give the demo a spin if it makes it out soon.
Welp time to go dark after the demo
If it’s a start to the game and it carries over, absolutely can’t wait… otherwise I’m waiting for that sweet bliss.
File size for the full game is 145.25 GB apparently.
Wait a minute. I am not prepared. I am still refreshing myself with the Chapter 1 hard mode.
@Jay767 help you get warmed up get back into flow of combat,.slightly different this time around especially if you havent played Intergrade, with the link attacks etc 👍
@Splat i mean they kinda need to ff16 flopped hard so this is one of their last gems in their arsenal and the ff14 expansion in the summmer so this game absolutely needs to sell 10-14 mil to shoot SE out of the hole they are in right now
I’ve already preordered the game, but I’ll give the demo a try anyways seeing as it’s probably stuff I’ve already seen from the gameplay demonstrations.
I wonder how many hours people will put into just the demo. I bet it breaks records.
@Cloud39472 It really damaged them. It does seem they're really lucky they have Rebirth so far along its dev cycle since that can pick up the slack for them now. It's also interesting that it's basically the opposite of XVI in many ways so hopefully when it does better than XVI (which it surely has to) it'll indicate the sort of content and tone people want from the series.
@Cloud39472 you must live under a rock if you missed back in August how SE took heavily financial losses https://www.gamezone.com/news/square-enix-ff-bomb-market-impact-of-the-final-fantasy-16-release/ their stock tanked so bad that they still havent recovered in nearly 6 months
well your moving the goal post again Im merely stating from the beginning that if Rebirth doesn't perform on the high end that SE expects then its curtains for the studio and most likely within the decade they will be absorbed by Sony, possibly Microsoft or Endurance
@Ray_Ray_Regasis The fact that we are getting expansions since Yoshida stated himself that "If there is want for more of FF16 we will make it" shows that it was a success. So youre very much trying to just spread misinformation because you didnt like the game.
The demo would be very handy for me. I think the best thing for me to do though is to fully play FF7 Intergrade and see how I like it. I must say Intergrade already feels so much better to play than FF16. The Demo was actually the best part of FF16 and I sorely regret buying it day 1.
Hell yeah, can't wait for the demo
Been waiting to hear of this. I went dark after the recent State Of Play as only got to watch it this morning. Cannot wait for the 06th February & if this demo carries over save data, as rumoured, then that’ll be great.
Picked up GRANBLUE FANTASY: RELINK to tide me over & what a beautiful & fantastic game that is. Highly recommend.
