Former WWE chairman and CEO Vince McMahon remains embroiled in a sexual misconduct lawsuit alleged by former employee Janel Grant. As a result, 2K has decided to partially censor McMahon's face in WWE 2K24, in archival footage featured in the game's Wrestlemania Showcase mode. While McMahon denies Grant's allegations, which include sexual assault and trafficking her to secure wrestling talent, he resigned from WWE as CEO the day after the federal lawsuit was filed.
As relayed by VGC, McMahon's image has been blurred out during the majority of his in-game appearances. Still, his prominence in WWE history and active part in WrestleMania matches means unfortunate situations in which most of the screen is dominated by his obscured face. However, the villainous heel, sometimes known as Mr. McMahon, isn't wholly censored. He still appears as an in-game character during a match between The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, appearing unblurred in cutscenes.
Are you surprised to see McMahon's inclusion? What do you think of the decision to blur his face out rather than attempt to cut the scenes involved? Would that not be possible due to his level of involvement? Let us know in the comments section below.

All those years when his company blurred out the F in WWF or straight up trying to rewrite history against wrestlers who were either A) involved in a ongoing scandal B) in legal disputes with them or C) straight up committed serious crimes.
It's quite funny to see it happen to him.
The allegations are actually insane behavior. I won't be able to play that character of him again without thinking about what he allegedly did... Nasty stuff
I….don’t like censorship. At all. So while I understand the desire to downplay his presence, it seems kind of silly to me given his involvement in…well, almost EVERYTHING.
But I’m also not the target audience, so eh! They won’t gain or lose money based on my feelings on the matter.
@dskatter never cared much for this type of thing but I don’t condone this level of censorship. The guy is a piece of human garbage, don’t get me wrong. But I feel like with such a severe and frankly in your face degree of blurring, modifying footage etc the game may as well have been delayed. Pretty absurd.
Still, guy should have gotten lost years ago. As someone who has buddies that dig wrestling when I don’t, they’re always surprised when he comes back. He’s notoriously problematic and I’m genuinely surprised they allowed him to stick around. The recent allegations are horrific, but it’s not his first rodeo with being called out for being a wretch.
Should have kept Vince in but only in casket matches and he is never able to win them.
Not trying to defend the guy or anything but this seems pretty silly to do. I thought the point of the showcase mode was to deliver a sort of documentary style presentation for things that happen in history. History is ugly sometimes.
To awkwardly obscure someone like this just seems pointless. You can't talk about WWE history and not bring up Vince McMahon. That's like doing a documentary about WW2 and obscuring the face of Hitler. Everyone should know the faces of both the heroes and villains of history imo.
Should've include him for punching bag training

@B0udoir Sex trafficking is not a sign of 80s excess. This is not cancel culture. The blurring situation is stupid but the allegations must have come late in development.
Should we blur out or censor every picture of Hitler or Genghis Khan in games and other media?
Additionally while the accusations levelled at him are grim they are, for now at least, just that… accusations. I don’t like this craze of trial by media, the public deciding guilt and innocence pre-emptively based on who ran a more believable media campaign.
I have no skin in the game, I don’t watch wrestling at all, I won’t be playing this game, but I don’t like censorship, especially on unproven allegations. But even if proven should we hide all the darker moments in our history?

So what happened to presumption of innocence?
There is no history of wrestlemania without Vince, poor decision
@ZhuckelDror cancel culture happened. people don't really care about truth. just witch hunting
@themightyant My thoughts exactly having played Wolfenstein 2 recently.
It’s annoying that he is blurred out like that. Then again, I can’t fault 2K for doing that. I get where they are coming from. Would have been best to delay the game and just remove Vince entirely imo.
So personally anyone involved in sexual harassment stuff like he is are scum so I can’t fault the company for that but in all honestly that just sounds annoying to be playing and seeing like 4K sweaty the rock and then they turn the camera and you just see BLUR
