Following the incredibly strong launch of Amazon's critically acclaimed adaptation of Fallout, lapsed fans craving some V.A.T.S. have returned to the series in droves, proving there is still an insatiable demand for the series. According to SteamDB, tens of thousands of players have been drawn back to the Wasteland recently, a notable uptick that coincides with the show's launch, and we imagine console players are putting up similar numbers.
Fallout 4 was far and away the most popular (interesting considering how many claim to dislike the game), beating out the newer (but multiplayer-focused) Fallout 76 and fan-favourite black sheep Fallout: New Vegas, which is starting to show its age.
It's hardly a surprise that the success of the Amazon series would have fans wanting to relive the Fallout experience for themselves. Of course, having been acquired by Microsoft, it remains to be seen whether future games in the series will make their way to PlayStation platforms. While somewhat disheartening, current-gen players can at least look forward to the free PS5 version of Fallout 4 when it arrives on 25th April.
