Looking forward to finding out more. Hoping we get as much depth to the non-combat loop as we do in Persona, and they have a tonne of fantasy world building potential to make use of.
The reveal looked great. Basically persona 6 with a different name. Definitely going to tune in to see more of it.
Associated manga?
There's a manga too?
Man they really know how to get my money.
This is the jrpg I am most excited for this year, to the point I even skipped P3R,so even if Metaphor does play similar to Persona, it means I will not be exhausted from persona gameplay fatigue when playing it.
Even if the gameplay or the social links turns out be Persona 2.0,i won't be disappointed(I like Persona gameplay and social link),because what I actually want, is ATLUS to put more of an original spin and unique concept is the story and characters. Hopefully they don't feel like Persona 2.0
In short I can't wait.
Cool, I’m looking forward to seeing more for this.
Hoping we get a release date for it soon though, hopefully gonna get SMTV Vengeance to go through during the summer
Will PlayStation fans get royally screwed over because of Atlus being slimy con men again or nah?
N.i.c.e. metaphor refantazio looks amazing.the gameplay is going to be excellent.word up son
So this will be the third Persona-like this year with Reload, SMTV Vengeance and now this. I hope they do enough to separate the three.
From what I have seen in demos so far, I am interested in having a closer look at the combat. The hybrid of Hack'n'slash that evolves into turn-based looks unique to me and I would love a deeper dive into this system.
Does anyone know of another game that does this?
i'm a bit surprised this game isn't getting more attention. perhaps many people are not aware that key members of persona 3/4/5 are behind it? or are people so attached to the persona trappings that they are less willing to try something a little different? it is refreshing not having to play as yet another high school protagonist in my opinion.
@Martijn87 Be careful. SMT and even Soul hackers are persona like. But they feel very different. The life sim and story make persona very engaging. Without it, the games feel very different. More dungeon crawler like.
@Nem didn't know that, so this is more comparable to a Tales or Star ocean game with a persona coat?
@Martijn87 To be fair i have not looked enough into this game to know how it's structured. But thought i'd warn as a persona fan that tried other SMT games that ended up feeling very different.
Even persona 5 strikers feels off cause it's missing the life sim part.
But yes, i imagine this one would be more like a tales or star ocean but with the Atlus feel.
I think all these comparisons to the persona games may be doing a disservice to this title. I love persona, and am excited that a bunch of the people that worked on p3-5 worked on this game. But it will likely be a different game with a different feel then persona, after all it's not even an SMT spin off. I for one am looking forward to seeing what they came up with. Also, damn that's a cool art style!
