According to reliable leaker Midori — best known for their seemingly accurate information on all things Atlus — a sequel to 2021's Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles is currently in development. Of course, this wouldn't come as any real surprise, given that this is basically what developer CyberConnect2 is hired to do. Looking at the studio's long line of Naruto Ninja Storm titles, a follow-up to its Demon Slayer arena fighter always seemed inevitable.
Generally speaking, the Japanese developer is great at building upon its previously released titles, so we'd have full confidence in a much bigger and better sequel. More playable characters, additional game modes... there's a lot that could be done with The Hinokami Chronicles 2.
Licensed anime games are typically put together within the space of two years or so, often because of contractual obligations (although such obligations can obviously vary based on the project's scope). With that in mind, we wouldn't bet against this supposed sequel being announced in the near future.

Awesome love the game although I wish that CC2 would just make a BLEACH Storm game already😭😭😭
Really enjoyed first one, so a 2nd one that covers S2 + S3 would be DOPE
Nice to see Rengoku get some recognition 😢
In terms of the demon slayer game I wish someone would do an RPG instead, surely it's in the works as we already have an arena fighting game and a mario party style game coming soon.
well I guess tihs was bound to happen. It felt like the first game came out way too soon. That roster was awful lol
@Pepsiman_100 They had a lot of "Tanjiro (Entertainment District) or Tanjiro (High School).
But they did at least provide the Demons for free and then some decent characters as DLC.
But I'll wait for 2, I loved the story mode though!
@UltimateOtaku91 it's funny that the only anime game that isn't an Arena Fighter is Sword Art Online.
@Areus There's still time for that to happen especially as their running out of ideas. Personally I would love Namco to leave the series behind and move onto something else such as Demon Slayer, Shield Hero, Danmachi or Reincarnated as a Slime which I think are as popular as SAO.
Hopefully it's 60 fps right from the get-go.
@stocko yea the story modes in CC2's games are the best part imo. I wish they were able to just make whole single player action games instead of the usual arena fighter
