When it launches on PC later this week, the online co-op Legends mode in Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut will carry a beta tag when you wish to play with PS5, PS4 friends via crossplay. Rather than the final version of what port specialist Nixxes Software intends to ship, the developer is soliciting feedback so it can make tweaks to the feature "in the weeks following launch".
Rather than having crossplay happen automatically when matchmaking for the Legends mode, PC players need to opt-in by inviting their PS5, PS4 friends through the all-new PlayStation overlay. "Cross-play will launch in beta, meaning you can try it out by inviting your PlayStation Network friends," a tweet said. "We would love your feedback as we continue to make adjustments in the weeks following launch!" The new PlayStation overlay will also let PC users unlock Trophies.
Nixxes goes on to explain the PC version can be pre-loaded now, allowing you to start playing the game as soon as it's available on 16th May 2024 at 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST. As well as a desktop, Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut is also fully playable on a Steam Deck.
"We're happy to share that the single player experience, including the Iki Island expansion, can be enjoyed on Steam Deck and similar handheld gaming PCs as we’ve worked extensively to optimize performance and deliver the best possible experience on these devices." The only reason the game has been marked as "unsupported" on Steam is due to "the Legends co-op multiplayer mode requiring Windows to access PlayStation Network integrated features".
Are you going to give Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut a go on PC? Let us know in the comments below.

Doest that mean we don't have to play with people on PC or is that just as of now?
SO cool you can play these AAA Sony games on a handheld PC that feels very console-like.
tbh I don't even feel about not getting a Vita successor anymore. Steam Deck OLED is better than that ever would have been.
@Zenos they released a new model, OLED, just 6 months ago. I don't really see them releasing a new version for another 18 months at the earliest
@Zenos It's apparently going to be at least a few years before the successor arrives. Steam Deck OLED improves on the original model dramatically in pretty much every way, and upper-tier models are more reasonably priced to boot. I'd jump in ASAP.
Now we just need day and date and all gamers are winning. More games to more screens for the win. Not getting a Steam Deck unless i build a PC. Want to wait and see if Sony or Microsoft builds a handheld also. Looks like Xbox Handheld is all but confirmed, rumors of a PS one were floating around.
Love love love Ghost of Tsushima, and I'm really glad to see it finally release on PC.
May need to replay it on PC.
My hankering for another instalment of this is going to lead me to buying Rise Of The Ronin I just know it
@HonestHick I still wouldn’t buy an Xbox handheld as it’s going to be the same library as the consoles surely unless they implement steam but why would steam cut there own throat
@Mikey856 i love my Xbox library so thats not a bad thing for me. Same with my PS library, it’s smaller than my Xbox but I would still get a PS handheld. I have been a Mac user for PC for 18 years, so I have zero games on windows and Steam obviously. But i have been eyeing building a gaming PC. If Sony goes day and date and with Square announcement yesterday. PC is looking better and better for me. If i did that then a Steam deck for sure. I like to keep my options open, but i do prefer Xbox and PS over PC gaming at least for a little while longer.
@Mikey856 An Xbox handheld would most likely just be an Xbox theme handheld PC running window with a custom UI... Basically what the is ROG Ally but green.
@Zenos yeah it's time for the sequel to be announced, we should be hearing about the film as well.
@Zenos I'm hoping the rumored Sony handheld (portable version of 5 or 6 ) is true, don't want a dedicated handheld but one that can pay your current library would be nice.
Nicely done, Confirm Steamdeck support from day 1. This is the way to do it.
That said, no desire to play it again.
