Fortnite has announced and teased a collaboration with Fallout.
On social media, official accounts for Epic's free-to-play battle royale shooter shared an image featuring the iconic power armour worn by the Brotherhood of Steel:
Bethesda's post-apocalyptic RPG series has seen a huge boom in popularity ever since the warmly-received TV adaptation hit Amazon Prime Video back in April. The single-player titles, like Fallout 4, as well as the multiplayer iteration Fallout 76, are all seeing a lot more players in the wake of the show, so it's no surprise to see Fortnite wanting in on some of that action.
While there are no real details as of yet, it can be somewhat safely assumed players will get to explore a Fallout-inspired location and nab themselves that aforementioned power armour as a character skin. We imagine more information will come along in the very near future.

Pretty soon there'll be a two degrees of separation thing going where every single franchise or media entity will be connected via Fortnite. If they ever go after an elderly audience for Fortnite, we'll get a Bargain Hunt crossover. It's slightly worrying that many people under 20 are going to grow up thinking of stuff like Resident Evil or Tomb Raider as "those skins you could get in Fortnite when we were 13β.
Shame, was hoping on it been Mad Max themed.
Dogmeat hitting the griddy.
@Matroska if this Fallout update doesn't get me to finally play Fortnite then I can say that a David Dickinson Bargain Hunt mode definitely would π
Maybe just maybe this rise in Falloutβs popularity from the show will get Bethesda to release remasters of 3 and New Vegas for the current lineup of systems.
if xbox had a new fallout game for this gen for xbox things might have been different for them this gen
@CooCooKaChoo I would like that they probably wont because they run 4k60fps on xbox Series X so maybe they see no need
Sales wise im sure it would make money for them
Just imagine if Bethesda had been working on Fallout 5 and had it ready for release to coincide with the TV show...most likely would have been console exclusive and could have completely changed the current landscape (yes I'm implying it might have helped save Xbox) but instead Bethesda were hard at work on Starfield, a mediocre turd nobody really wanted (in comparison to TES or Fallout anyway.)
@trev666 Could even release them on the Switch too. Between the PC, NS, PS5, and XSX it would be a pretty good flow of revenue for Bethesda while working on Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5.
Well that's less people playing the fallout game then, skins & rewards are a priority π
Not a Fallout guy but I think the stuff is iconic enough to work. Just too bad it's a new season mid chapter and not a new chapter where they could nuke the entire world and start over. I thought they did a pretty good job w/ the green glowy water in the Hades area so they could probably do a nuclear Fallout area justice.
What absolute cringe π¬π¬
