While we're all sitting here waiting for Sony to announce its long-rumoured PlayStation Showcase (like absolute mugs, potentially), Marvel's Spider-Man developer Insomniac Games is out there dropping updates on its next PS5 game, Marvel's Wolverine. Okay, so maybe 'update' is overselling it — the studio has basically just replied to someone on Twitter who was asking for info on the yet-to-be-fully-revealed action title.
"We'll share news when the time is right," Insomniac teases. "And the right time isn't now." Boooo!
So when is the right time? Is it during the imminent and totally real PlayStation Showcase? At this point, we can only dream.
For the record, we don't know for sure what kind of timeframe Marvel's Wolverine is aiming for. There was a deeply unfortunate and massive Insomniac leak last year that resulted in very early development footage of the game being passed about online — but it's hard to judge just how far along the project is on that alone.
Before all of that happened, there was a report going around that Marvel's Wolverine is targeting a 2025 release — but that's not exactly difficult to predict, is it? Still, if there's any truth at all to that rumour, then it shouldn't be too long until the game makes a public comeback.
