We're getting closer and closer to gaming's annual announcement season. Every summer sees the industry turn out for a few weeks of pre-recorded presentations and live broadcasts, all showcasing what's coming up in the near future. With E3 now sadly a thing of the past, the biggest of these events is now Summer Game Fest, created and hosted by Geoff Keighley. Whatever games you enjoy, it sounds like this will be worth watching — a lot of game developers and publishers are taking part.
In a new press release, it's stated that more than 55 partners will be presenting "new announcements, trailers and first-looks" during Summer Game Fest, which takes place in Los Angeles next month. A live showcase on 7th June will be available to watch in-person or for free online, as usual, and it's here where fans will be able to see what's in store from a wide range of studios.
As well as the live show, Summer Game Fest: Play Days makes its return. This is a three-day, invite-only event for gaming media and influencers, allowing them to experience many of the titles featured during the live show. You'll no doubt see a whole host of previews in the days and weeks following the event — including from Push Square.
Summer Game Fest has released a partial list of partners that'll be involved in some capacity, and it includes plenty of recognisable names:

It’s Joever Kingdom Hearts boys
Nice. Hoping Atari announces a remaster of Sheep Dog n Wolf now that they have revived Infogrames recently.
Also hoping for a Dino crisis remake announcement.
They’ll probably be something for MH Wilds and Wolverine.
Sonic generations remaster will definitely be there.
Hoping for something on Pragmata.
That’s a pretty good company lineup though
@Frmknst
Summer Games Feat is early June as for the rumoured PS showcase I have no idea
Nintendo really doesn't like partnering with Geoff anymore since Reggie left, huh?
@mariomaster96 Nintendo doesn’t give a crap about nobody but Nintendo which I like.
@Dragoon1994 completely forgot about Capcoms Pragmata. You'd have to imagine it's more ready for a better trailer or gameplay vid soon, need to see it in action
Another summer of scattershot announcements at all different times, coming from all different places. It can get confusing! It’s a wonder nobody’s thought of having a gathering in one central location where all kinds of developers could show what they’re working on. An expo, if you will. But only for entertainment that runs on electronics.
@Frmknst Time is running out to announce a showcase if it is on the 23rd considering they announce a week in advance. Only State of Play has a shorter window between announce and airing.
@Grumblevolcano If PS Showcase is in May could be end of May 29 or 30th yet
@Zenos I think Resi 9 will be at the PlayStation Showcase, pretty sure they revealed the last two games there as well. I think Capcom will show off Monster Hunter Wilds though.
I think there's definitely a showcase from playstation this month. This was from the boss Hiroki Totoki
Later this month you will learn more about the long-term vision for Sony Group and the essential role SIE [Sony Interactive Entertainment] plays in that vision he said in a short message to PlayStation employees, following the announcements of the new CEOs.
Dolby and discord I'm confused 😕
@Amnesiac
What a great idea! It could even have specific, organized, press conferences to watch for each of the big publishers so that way fans could pick and choose which ones they wish to watch instead of a general showcase where you just gotta kind of pray you see something your interested in.
I'll pass along your idea to the ESA. Surely someone there could get the ball rolling on this!
Hopefully less leaks this year, although that's unlikely in this day and age. Despite some people hating on him, I like Keighley, and there's always a handful of games announced at his events that get me excited
@Beerheadgamer82
Yeah highly hope so.
Hoping Capcom gives a proper gameplay showcase for it soon
@UltimateOtaku91 it's usually a Wednesday or Thursday so I'm hoping next week. Although could still be 29th or 30th as someone else has mentioned in here
I think at this point it's safe to say Capcoms Deep Down is no longer a thing
It's probably good that we get a Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft showcase- and then just a showcase for newrly everything else in one show. Aside from PC gamer show/devolver
Looks like a list of solid partners finally, and not a flood of forgettable indies. Might give it a look this year...
And 56 sponsors 🎉🎉🎉
@Deoxyr1bose nah Squar3 could be one of those reveals in the days leading up to it or reveals only at the show itself. Much as I hate the KH fan base I think it’s too early to call it quits. WE GOT THIS.
@Beerheadgamer82 Agreed, at this point it seems most likely that Sony announces showcase on May 23rd at the Sony long term vision event for airing on May 30th.
It's pretty hard for me to feel excited for this given the sheer number of layoffs/closures going around the industry in addition to Keighley's recent showcases feeling less and less like 'gaming' events and moreso just 'events which happen to feature games'.
Capcom and SNK are gonna be here though so eh: may as well give it a watch if I have the time I guess.
@Amnesiac That's difficult to say aloud with those three e's in there.
No Square Enix... Fascinating. Also this means we will see Bokeh's new horror game (former Team Siren/Gravity Rush people)
@mariomaster96 I think it is more Nintendo doesn't feel like they need to share space with the others. Also, I doubt they have much to show except more DS/3DS/WiiU Remasters/Remakes at this point.
Well, since Sega, Capcom and PlayStation will be there I'll be sure to check it out.
@breakneck yeah, also missing square-enix, but bokeh sounds exciting. Hopefully a new horror game.
Oooh... i expect we will see more of Monster hunter wilds here.
Oh and SNK presence confirms another fatal fury cotw character reveal.
Feel like this could be alot to digest for PlayStation fans this summer. Between the PlayStations showcase, whatever is announced at the Xbox Showcase and SGF.
Who was also searching for "Kojima Productions" within the list 🧐
