XDefiant, ridiculed upon its original reveal, appears here to stay: it’s currently one of the most popular games on PS5, and with French publisher Ubisoft behind it, you just know it’s going to grow and grow for years to come. Case in point: the title’s first season, set to release on 2nd July, is bringing an absolute ton of new content.
First up, there’s a new faction in the form of GSK, inspired of course by Rainbow Six: Siege. That means you can look forward to fresh operators with unique abilities – plenty to keep the release feeling fresh. They’ll be joined by a trio of colourful arenas across the course of the season: Clubhouse, Daytona, and Rockefeller. The update will also plot the addition of Capture the Flag.
There’s a lot to look forward to here, then, with more factions, maps, and more plotted across the title’s first year of support. As we alluded to above, there’s no better publisher than Ubisoft when it comes to post-release support, so while XDefiant will face stern competition from the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 later in the year, we can see it sustaining a strong community for years to come.

Anyone else getting Tiberian Sun vibes from the poster?
@chesheer YES nice catch
@chesheer I was thinking hardly, where I've seen it... 🤣🤣🤣 Must go and play Tiberian Sun...
BTW that Xdeviant something still didn't died???
@djlard I actually heard it's not that bad. I mean for a F2P Call of Duty clone.
Not that Skull & Bones crap, not at all.
@chesheer Ohh I see... The closest to CoD I have ever played is Wolfenstein. Otherwise I love rather unreal shooters, like Unreal, Quake, Doom and so on...
